I went in with the package to be returned. I could not figure out how to do the self service so went inside. I expected it to be extremely busy for the number of cars outside, but I was the second person in line. The other long line was for identification Services. There is some parking in front and overflow parking on the side that has a lot of spaces. There are a couple of steps to get into the post office, but also a handicapped ramp. There are plenty of PO boxes to rent of various sizes. I have never had an issue with this particular post office. That being said, its not like I visit frequently. I have almost always been able to get in and out quickly when I have to go inside. For me, the highlight is the 5 blue mailboxes you can drive up to mail letters. This post office is located just north of Lakeside mall. The only tricky part is exiting as this is a high traffic area, and sometimes, you have to go the other direction to get where you need to go from where it lets you out at. read more

I am not one to leave a bad review but I was treated terribly here by J.Miller. I brought her my envelope to be mailed and asked her if I could put tape on it since it wasn't sealed. All I needed was one small piece of tape. She told me I had to buy a roll of tape, so I did. I then get back in line to purchase the tape before using it. Once I purchase the tape, I began to put it on the envelope and she tells me I have to get out of line to put the tape on and then get back in line after. I told her literally all I need to do it put a single piece of tape on it. She took the envelope from my hands and threw it to the side. I truly have never been treated like this before. She was extremely rude from the start. No one is nice to you here and they all look like they hate their jobs. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

Heck, it ain't easy delivering the mail. Fortunately the term "going postal" has vanished from our vocabulary. Let's face it, these teams (and if you've ever seen how people address the mail!!!). You have to call in the postal inspection service just to determine where a letter is going. All I hear is UPS this and FedEx that! I deal with lots of "friends" that deal with lots of mail. As of today UPS is "trading at $112" and has a market value of $96,460,000 DOLLARS . Like I told "the postmaster". The USPS does in 3 days what it takes UPS ALL YEAR LONG to accomplish. So if you want to have faith in your country and veterans, use the postal service. Technically they provide x the service of UPS (and would be VALUED BY WALL STREET 100x more than UPS). Most calculators can't even display the value, but it crushes the Dow 3x over!!! As a matter of fact, ANYBODY can do ANYTHING if given enough time. But these dedicated souls are put to "the test" everyday. My pal that lays the fiber for the Internet in this city told me "to hell with FedEx" -they lost an overnight part we needed and delayed the infrastructure of our project by 2 weeks!!! And what FedEx take A YEAR TO DO (drinking Margaritas on the beach & acting in movies like "castaway", the UNITED STATES POST OFFICE gets accomplished in less than a day. So appreciate your postal carrier, keep your dog locked up, reward your carrier the best you can! (If you are INTO yoga & Pilates, don't even try to keep up walking with them, as they are trained to function with reduced oxygen at the top of Everest and they will embarrass an Argentinian soccer team. Just look at the size of their legs and be warned that one would rather be "kicked" by a Budweiser Clydesdale at a Mardi Gras parade! Many carriers have spent time in the "Hanoi Hilton", locked in a hole inside Bangladesh just for being labeled as an American (hence they usually are lacking in tattoos and are forced to bottle up that anger). So please FORGIVE your dedicated carriers that would be rescuing the animals burning alive while our fire department sits back and volunteers. Parking is always available. There are locations on the front and Severn sides. Located directly across from Lakeside Mall and the many other businesses sprinkled close by means busy, busy, busy! The good thing, every time I'm there 4 out of 6 checkouts are staffed. The main line always appear to be horrendous but don't fret it moves very fast. Also, There is an automated machine for mailing packages and buying a book of stamps. However, if you only want a stamped envelope get in line. As a business owner who relies on using the post office at least once a day sometimes more, it gets extremely disheartening that the post office employees literally never scan any package all day. I'm consistently there between 9am-10am 6 days a week to mail my customers orders. I get every once in a while something slips by and doesn't get scanned but when it's everyday I'll ship at 9am and it doesn't get scanned until 11pm all the way in the st rose facility over 12 hours later it starts to feel a bit ridiculous. As a former Amazon manager we'd process 50k in volume per shift and even with 45 associates EVERYTHING gets scanned. I have to assume the post office is responsible for a fraction of the volume Amazon does but yet the post office can't seem to scan anything. This is a pretty solid post office. The service is professional and polite, most of the people who work here have been very pleasant and accomadating, that said it is pretty busy most of the time. The lines are almost always long which is almost always lends itself to a long wait but mostly because the customers are unprepared trying to rush through writing send and return address in line instead of in the car or at home. Whenever I'm in this area it's always my location of choice. They also have attendants who speak Spanish and French in the event English is your second language. Word of advise, have all evelopes and pacnages pre filled out with address before you step in line and you'll save yourself a world of a headache. read more

Waiting for my package about 1 foot away from front door. $36.55 to be overnighted. The postal person never rang the doorbell or knocked. She left a paper marked SIGNATURE REQUIRED on a package that could have simply been left at the door. So then I could not have the package redelivered according to the automated recording because I could never get a person on the phone. I had to wait until Monday morning to go to the physical post office, wait in line and get my package. When speaking to the supervisor, he said he spoke to the postal person. She stated that she didn't know if anyone lived there and that is why she did not leave the package. I get trying to be conscientious, but if the package is set to be delivered with signature waived, it is not your responsibility to decide all of a sudden that there should now be a signature required!!! ZERO stars. Will no longer use USPS for package delivery. Too many privately owned companies that will actually do what their customers request. read more

This branch screws up every package that I receive. From putting my packages in the wrong box to sending them back to the distribution center without delivering them to delivering them to a spot where I can't physically get them, it's a constant problem. They delayed my receiving medical supplies by a week, and that took THREE calls to customer service to resolve. The carrier had the nerve to give me attitude when she was instructed to hand deliver that package. I've called the customer service number several times, but it has no effect. DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR PASSPORT. The lady who works in the passport office is the rudest person I have ever encountered. They are no help at all. They give you no guidance or assistance. They have TERRIBLE attitudes. I had to bring in child custody papers to get my sons passport and they were terrible working with me about it. What I had with me was efficient and DID work to get the passport but they didn't want to send it off because they were uninformed. I'm not one to be petty or write bad reviews but this is just probably the worst. WORST. EVER. post office I've ever visited. I lived in Harvey, LA up until recently and they've always been SO friendly and helpful, even when I lost a package, they were smart enough to get the package to me somehow. THIS location though... For starters, let me say this isn't just one recent event but I've had issues with their rudeness before years ago. Whichever old lady at the counter was beyond rude, borderline insulting. She talked to me like I was an idiot which is ironic because she sounded like one. Now, when I call to find a package and have it resent it turns into a shit show (excuse my lingo). First, I call to make sure my package is actually at that location. The person who picked up was helpful, said she'll find out and call me back. Ok. No big deal. I get a call back and it's there. Yay. I then tell her that I get off of work late, all the hours available conflict with my work schedule so could my boyfriend pick it up? She says sure but he needs the package slip. What package slip? "Well, there should be one there to notify you that your package was undeliverable." -they said. I told them, it was undeliverable because the address was incomplete so I couldn't get a slip even if they tried. I told them I knew that was my fault the address was incomplete. I caught the mistake and am trying to correct it. So, again. Could my BF get it? All I know is from tracking it online, that's how I knew it was undeliverable. Can my BF get it then? With just the tracking number? "Sure." He gets there and it all goes to shit. I get on the phone with them and they give me an entire spew about the slip. I tell them I was told he can pick it up. In the end, no package. Ok, took a deep breath and told myself they're just doing their job. I can understand why he can't have it. They tell me since it has the proper address they'll send it out now. "Will it be there soon?" I ask. "I don't know, we don't even know where it is." WHAT?! Wait, what?! You don't know where it is?! I was just told it was there! She says "well the shipments went out today." Why is this going in circles? Why? My whole gripe is this: if it was undeliverable, why would you send it out again WITHOUT the proper info? I just don't understand what organization system they're following. I couldn't deal with the circles so I just said thank you and hoped for the best. Maybe they figured it out and it's resent. Well, honey. If this is the best I'd hate to see what the worst is. It's been a few days and still nothing. UPDATE: If I could take it down to 0 stars, I would. After looking for my package and speaking to multiple workers at this location, they told me since corrections have been made they will send it out. It's been a week and if the online tracking is at all accurate, my situation has not even been dealt with yet. read more

ATTEMPTED DELIVERY my behind I saw the post woman Friday putting mail in my mail box from my upstairs front bedroom window she never came to my front door to ring my doorbell she parked her little truck on the side and went to the building next to my house. There also was no pink slip in my mail box to let me know I had to be home for delivery I called Amazon and found that info out this is the second time I have had a delivery to my house w not knowing I had to be home. The lady working for passport was supper slow did not care about anybody's day. She had attitude and was. It good with dealing with customers. She did not inform us with what we needed instead she made us leave 4 different times and have to waist 4 hours of sitting in a tiny crammed room. When someone called the phone she answered and he told her what she needed she kept asking the same question. And responding "not today baby" and putting him on hold until he hung up. This USPS location is most definitely the source of all those jokes about how slow and inefficient post offices are. Harsh, but true. I frequented this location for three years, and I never had a good experience that made me think, "Wow, this place is run well." I've waited in countless long lines as workers seemed to move in slow motion. At times, the idea of running my hand over paper slips and accumulating paper cuts on my fingers seemed less painful than waiting in that line. I've gone into this location for the "if it fits it ships" boxes, only for them to not have stocked the kiosk. When I've asked about that, I was told that I had to wait in line to get it resolved, which completely defeats the purpose of having those boxes at a kiosk. Then when I've gotten to the front of the line to ask about the boxes, I was told (in a very snarky manner I might add) that "that's not a priority for our staff." Here's the answer to that brain buster: Assign 3 different people each day to check on the supply when you open, at lunch, and towards the end of the day. I know. I'm a genius. read more

Ok, so I did not get my package delivered. When I check the tracking updates it says that it could not be delivered because there is a problem with the address or it is ineligible on the label. So, they are telling me they accepted to deliver a package and send it out for delivery with an issue on the address, seriously. I even waited for the mailman outside my door to avoid the package to be stolen. I checked with him for the package and he did not have it in his truck. So, an idiot scanned it and put it in a random truck, out for delivery, just because. I can't believe the address was completely wrong. I can understand if the apartment number is missing, but not the building number. Now, I've been calling the main office for two days to find if the package is there and no one is picking the phone. I have filled an claim online. I've been at this place some other times and the ladies that take care of these matters are pretty rough. They will always try to make you look like and idiot and act like you are there for charity. They are forgetting that you are a paying customer. if you are treating them with respect, they should respect you back. I have no complains with the front desk they are pretty good. read more

I've told the workers at this Post Office many, many times over the years that they should get an award for being the best branch in the country. I doubt seriously that you could go to any other government office where if you get there at 5:05 or even 5:10 as I've had to do more than a few times, they are still waiting on people and if you are polite and bogged down with (pre-metered)work packages they will still let you in to drop off your packages on the counter. This is especially amazing to me during Christmas season when they're already stressed all day long. I've always had excellent service at this location and everyone tries very hard to get the long lines processed as efficiently as possible. The employees' attitudes at this branch are far better than anywhere else I've ever gone to regularly, including in Baltimore, Milwaukee and Atlanta.
