I feel like all post offices are the same. You get what you get. I never had a bad interaction with anyone here but don't expect them to be overly friendly because they are not. They are there to do their job and educate what you need to ship your item, that's it. They don't care about their tone, just communicating the information you need. No one ever uses the number machine. It's just there for decoration I think. Just get in line and you'll see people scattered trying to fill out things they forgot or didn't know they needed. Its a bit bigger than most post offices so at least you can find a space to fill out your documents. I'll return because its the USPS. read more

I was extremely dissatisfied with the service here. My family came here for a passport picture appointment. We checked in with the staff and they said they will be right with us. As we waited there no one had checked on us. We waited for an hour and finally we had to take matters into our own hands, we spoke with an employee and he was extremely rude, claiming we were late for our appointment. In reality, we checked in on time and we waited for them to call us. We had to request the supervisor and he didn't comply. He said he couldn't squeeze us in even though the man taking passport pictures didn't look busy. The incompetent staff should have asked us what we were waiting for as we were in there for an hour. Absolutely horrible experience. I received a call about a replacement lock and key for my lockbox at 9:05 AM while at work. I ask if I can just pick it up after work at 3:40, and am told that works. I get to the Post Office after work (at 3:40) and they dont have my key. I ask if there is any way to speak to who I spoke to early. She says no. I ask if they can just deliver it to me. Immediately after this, the girl I'm talking to (who called herself "Mahogany") catches an attitude. She says the key is not lost and I can just get it the next day. I ask if I can have my key then, if its not lost. She says they "misplaced" and "cant find it" but it's not lost. I say it sounds like she's beating around the bush, and she responds with "You can pick it up a different time". She turned an already bad experience + mistake on THEIR end into an even worse situation. As if the solution for their negligence was to be nasty to me. If not for them being the USPS responsible for my area, I would never recommend, nor utilize their services. read more

The ONLY reason I went here is because I needed to pick up a package. And apparently did everyone else in the area. When I went in I thought it would be a quick in-and-out. Wrong. Even though there were 4 of 5 Post Office folks at the counter NOT doing anything they had nothing to do with the pick-up window. There is a side door that you knock at, wait an indeterminate amount of time for someone to show, they take your package slip, you wait again, then open up and you exchange the package for your signature. One ... person ... at ... a ... time ... Did I mention the people working, er, standing at the counter had no customers? I was lucky. I was the 3rd of 8 people waiting on the pickup door. We are Ballwin residents and find consistently friendly, pleasant and helpful service by the wonderful employees at Ballwin Post Office! This is true with service around passports, packages, letters, held mail, etc. I wish I could name names of all of the wonderful folks! A large facility with all the usual services. They are very under staffed right now but that's to be expected given the financial troubles the PO is in currently. As to rudeness, it depends on who's working. Some are actually quite nice, others are what we have come to expect from the post office, and some are astoundingly, profoundly unpleasant. They act as if you kicked their dog on the way in or that providing you basic service is offensive to them. Simply put...good luck. read more

I have another post office I've reviewed that I absolutely love--this one I just like. The positive aspect of this office is how this location is larger and can do things like help you get a passport, or use the electronic self-service machine to prepare shipping a package. The downside is that as this is a bigger post office with various services it can get really busy and crowded--although even when jam-packed the employees seem to keep up with the customer-flow quite well. I myself don't mind the other post office near me with a bit less foot-traffic and a lack of mailing-machines (I really like interacting with people more than a video-screen). Still, this one is nice if you need to visit a larger post office for your mailing and/or passport needs. read more

What can I say? It's a post office. It has all the standard services. This one is a hub. Consequently, if you need something to go out faster, it's probably a better bet than a satellite post office. It has mailing and shipping supplies and a self service for shipping. Parking in front. One way in and one way out. Can be tough to make a left turn into from Manchester Road. read more

This post office is medium sized. It has many post boxes and you can get a passport here. There are five registers but I've never seen more than 3 people working. Usually there's only one. So be prepared for a wait. read more

The Ballwin Post Office consistently delivers terrible customer service, with a frown. The employees are completely annoyed with you just being there and obviously no one has ever taught them how to speak to people with any respect. They do not properly plan for busy times because frankly they don't care. Today I went in to mail a number of Christmas cards and just needed to buy some holiday stamps. You would think that on Saturday December 16 they might anticipate that quite a few people would be in that same mission. And lots of people mailing packages. Who coulda guessed that? They had two people at the counter at 9:00 am and one person processing passports. I waited almost an hour only to get served by the grumpiest employee you could imagine. Other post office prepare for this kind of rush and have special stamp only counters etc. this place is terrible and has been for years. This location knows what they're doing and Lorraine is a sweetheart. I had to get my passport renewed with a name change and she walked me through the process, got me in and out with a new pic in less than 30 min! She was patient and had a charming disposition. Normally I am not one to complain but two weeks ago my sons baseball game went a little long and we were 10 minutes late for our passport appointment. The completely unhelpful witch working there treated us like morons inconveniencing her and said that we were out of luck and could not go that weekend. We set another appointment for today and now they are 20 minutes late, the lady is just standing at the desk with nobody there and keeps making us wait. This post office absolutely sucks. Long lines, few employees, and a terrible attitude towards customers. They pick and choose who they wait on depending on what you need them to do. Only went here because I had to - and waited a full hour and 45 minutes to simply renew a passport. Only one person ahead of me getting one.
