I saw 2 people turned away at the check in desk for improper paperwork. This time I was in line less than 10 minutes and out the door in 15. I appreciate not wasting my time and streamlining the process. I talked to the employee about the new system and they loved it.

Over the years it has gotten quite busy here and the lines are long; leading to frustration. One new thing they are doing: there is now a person at the door going over and making sure you have the correct paperwork BEFORE you get in line. I thought I had all the correct paperwork, but Elaina who was working the door, went through it and pointed out one more item I needed. This helped me tremendously and I did not have to wait to get up to the counter to find out. Once I had the correct paperwork, Elaina sent me to the counter Krista then helped me. She was awesome! She took care of everything and I was out in a reasonable amount of time. Both Elaina and Krista represented the company in only the best of experience that day.

Paying property tax is in the corner BUT you need cash or check because they don't accept charge or debit cards. Fairly quick and painless if you know the procedure. If you have a sensitivity for mold or mildew, be sure to come prepared. If you're here for jury duty, be sure to be squeezed in with 200 people in the morning so you can get separated to go to several cases divided up so they can get jurors or pre-filtered jurors. Friendliness: They are overall friendly staff but can be a bit dramatic and there's always 1 that makes a scene. Obviously no one wants to be there. Entertainment: Feel free to bring a book or work laptop so you won't bend your neck like a dinosaur obsessing over your phone for hours. Parking: There is supposedly reimbursement for an area for jurors for parking. Call ahead and get guidance. Again the staff are very friendly and they are quick to answer. They will also have patience to listen. They are human. Don't make everyone's day worst if you're having a bad day.

The Lady behind the counter, who I watched waiting on 2-different clients at the same time. She kept them both busy, I was amazed how she kept this up almost non stop Her name was Veronica and she should be commended on her work ethics. Veronica gave me a telephone number to call verify in Jefferson city, they in turn asked me to have her call the HELP DESK. She did so and made the Transfer, after I received the new Title a week later. Veronica apologized to me and told me that she had be taught that couldn't be done. My family attended the Police Department's Open House. What a day. We got to go inside an ambulance…read moreand learn about all of the life saving equipment it has along with the fire trucks. Did you know our local fire department is dually trained as firefighters and EMT. It's amazing to see all of the compartments and equipment they contain to handle any situation. We enjoyed seeing several varieties of police vehicles and equipment. Cars, jeeps, a tanker and a robot. A K-9 officer was onsite as well. The inside of a crime lab van was interesting and full of various supplies used for investigations. We got to go inside and tour the dispatch center and the jail. Unfortunately we missed Safety Town. The day also included lunch and ice cream treats from 2 great food trucks. Popcorn, water and face painting were also available. It was hot but a great day learning about those who protect and serve our community. The mayor along with board members and council members were there mingling and answering questions.

Seriously, I do…read morenot know how lucky I can get being called for Jury Duty every two to two and a half years on a regular basis. I do believe, I have definitely served my civic duty. The ambiance of the waiting area is not plush, but you don't need to worry about the decor, you will not be there long. The most important thing to remember about Jury Duty, is to listen. The staff moves things along, very quickly and if they have to repeat themselves, that is when they get gruff. Otherwise, it is rather painless. I brought magazines and both of my iPads, in preparation of a long wait. My start day was Wednesday, not the typical Monday so the selection pool wasn't as large. My number was called in the second group, so no time to play on iPad or read any magazine articles, because once you are in the courtroom all those items are taboo. Once the Voir dire (jury selection) starts, that is when the real entertainment begins. My jury pool was 48 city residents and each and every one of them had some type of story. Some had more then one story, to share with the judge and lawyer. The selection process took close to a full 7 hours. During that time we did get a lunch break, of just over an hour. However, it made for a long day 8 AM - 5:30 PM. I've served on one criminal, two civil (one as foreman) and one grand jury. I guess I had too much experience, because this time I was not selected to serve.
