I had a package to deliver, and because I am a glutton for punishment I waited until five days before Christmas to do so. Since I had an errand to run out in the suburbs I decided to stop at the post office there with the hope that I would not waste away in line. That turned out to be the right decision, because when I stopped here there were only four people ahead of me. My trip to this post office was complete in fewer than 10 minutes. It's a large post office; I think they have a lot of P.O. Boxes, which takes up a large footprint. There's a large parking lot, as well as a drive up postbox outside the building so you can post your stamped mail.

The total was a dollar and some change and I had a larger bill and the exact change. The clerk asked me twice if I had a single, which I didn't. I finally told her, if I had one I would have given it to you but this is what I have. She muttered the whole time while making my change. Is it that she wasn't given enough bills in her till to carry her through the day, or was it the trouble of having to count to make the change? Whatever it was, the attitude is the same as I have gotten every time I have come in here. Honestly, get it together, because this kind of customer service is really poor.

Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by a postal employee at the entrance. He asked me what I needed, which was sending a letter via registered mail. He showed me which forms I needed to fill out, and then directed me to a customer service attendant. The attendant who helped me, as well as the rest of the employees here were all in great spirits and very prompt and courteous. It looks like I landed a winner here. They offer all the normal post office services, which included PO boxes. packing materials, do-it-yourself stamp machines, and a small assortment of greeting cards and gift wraps.

The passport clerk instructed us to leave and retrieve my adult daughter's original birth certificate (which is not required if you are an adult, BTW). But we agreed to cooperate and did exactly that and returned by 10:00 a.m., only to be told we had to reschedule because we were now "late." When I politely explained that we were only late because we followed her instructions, she responded, "You gave me an attitude when you left, and that's why I'm not making an exception for you." I asked to speak with a supervisor, but the decision was upheld by supervisor (Stephanie). I understand policies must be followed, but customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect. Policies should be applied consistently, not based on whether an employee believes a customer has an 'attitude.' I hope management reviews this interaction so others don't have a similar experience. I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. there are plenty of other post offices you can go to. If people stop going to this place then they will shut this place down..I think that's what the employees want....I would guess.
