This location is more convenient than the post office in my town. They actually have a parking lot or can drive up to mail letters. They usually have a decent number of people working at the desk. I really wish they would privatize the post office. The employees that work here have a collective IQ barely above room temperature. The laziness is astounding. I live in Downers Grove, the next village west of Westmont. However, I frequently drive to this facility rather than use my own USPS that is less than a mile to my house. My reasoning is simple; this USPS ALWAYS has twice as many employees working the windows than the DG-USPS and my mail arrives at it's destination 1-2 days sooner. How do I know this? Every Monday since 2009, I have mailed a letter to central Indiana. If the letter leaves DG-USPS it arrives on Thursday or Friday. If it leaves Westmont it usually arrives on Wednesday. They are doing something VERY right in Westmont. read more

So tired of members of the USPSP thinking they can talk to customers however they want & just hang up when they don't want to solve a problem, knowing that if customers want to file a report or get additional answers, they need to sit on hold for almost an hour calling the 800 number. I have a package thats gone missing. Handed it to my carrier yesterday & it was never scanned at the local office or sorting center. Called the Westmont PO and was told it was the incorrect PO. I asked which post office handled our mail. She gave me a telephone number saying "hoped it was still the right number". I asked which post office handles our city. She said the name of our city PO. I told her we don't have a post office, so which one does our mail pass through and she again, repeated the name of my city. I repeated the question again, to which she replied, "You ain't gonna go raising your voice to me", and then hung up the phone. When I called back -- she just let the phone ring and ring and ring and refused to answer. After 15 minutes, she sent the call to an employee line that requires an employee PW. There's our tax dollars hard at work! Lost mail, no answers & refusal to do their job! (p.s. I looked it up -- the number she gave me is for a post office annex in the next town over -- NOT my city. I dropped off four letters at the Westmont Post Office at their mailbox in front of the building on November 29,2022 three of these were donations to Ronald McDonald House charities, Make A Wish foundation, Boys Town and my garbage man. At the time a woman was collecting the mail in the box apparently, none of the checks have made it to their destination yet. I talked to the bank and had to stop payment on all the checks, and they charged me $31.00 per check. read more

Wow! I arrived to a long, slow moving with minimal staff working. Finally it was my turn to buy my 30 floral and 140 winter-esque stamps. I was told they were out of stamps that I wanted and a supervisor told me to order them online or try another post office. Don't be like me! I cant stand that male post office clerk. Last time I purchased an envelope with female clerk, she told me to fill the address, which i did, after I was done she was busy with other customers so I had to go to this male. I told him I just purchased that envelope few mins ago but he charged me anyway. This happend twice already with him! There was a huge line so I didint come back for refund. Now my husband went there to mail some other stuff and that male clerk was so rude to him. I called and spoke to a (ahem) delivery supervisor because two first class letters weren't delivered as seen in my Daily Digest on Thursday, May 12. She wasn't going to ask my carrier if she saw them. One of them was clearly marked Facebook Litigation and would've had a $397 check in it. The supervisor told me she couldn't ask carriers if they've seen certain mail. I'm retired from the USPS and where I worked we always would follow up on missing mail. Incidentally, I'm also missing three debit cards a bank has sent me over the last couple of months. read more

Poor customer service . Staff is unprofessional . Delivered my mail multiple times at different address. Every time there is a Sunday delivery it never happens because they always say attempted delivery but owner was not home . This small, unassuming post office is located south of downtown Westmont. When I've gone, it's been extremely busy, and it's a stroke of luck to find a parking spot at all. The employees there were rather nice and friendly despite a never-ending stream of grumpy and impatient customers. Maybe I'm spoiled by the post offices where I lived previously, but adding things like an automated service machine or more pick-up hours for the drop-boxes would be extremely welcome. One huge bonus? They're open 'til 7 during the week! read more

First of all does the post master at this facility even read these reviews. Question being? I see no replies to anyone reviews. I was there on 12/17/19 at 12:28pm and Clerk #8 provided horrible customer service. She thought making a phone call in front of me while I was filling out a registered mail form was more important. Whomever she was speaking to. She was asking them. "If they went to there Christmas party yet?, What time do they get off? Etc; The phone call could've waited. I also did the online survey that is asked when given the receipt. I would be more then glad to take her job so she can make all the phone calls she wants then. read more

Slow lines. They are in no rush to help people or answer questions. My package got transferred from UPS to this post office and it sat there for days and I called asking if I could pick it up and they just told me "no" and ill have to wait until they sort it and decide to deliver it. Good post office. There is one counter clerk in particular who is always nice and friendly. I wish I knew her name. It's very easy to leave packages that have postage paid. The only thing I don't like, is the arrogant people that go there and complain out loud (sometimes to me) about how long they have to wait. I just ignore them, hoping they will just shut up. They FINALLY just paved and repainted their parking lot. It needed it so desperately. Now I can actually see where the parking spaces are! I come here at least a few times a week to drop off packages. Never had one issue with the employees, only the entitled jerks that complain about waiting 5 minutes to mail a letter anywhere in the country and park in the no parking area. They just re paved the parking lot and painted "NO PARKING" in front of the sidewalk near the door. I was happy to see this thinking maybe lazy people would stop parking there but unfortunately I was wrong. I guess the sign and the paint on the pavement still isn't enough. God forbid you have to turn your car off and walk a few feet. Unbelievable. Also the exit lane appears to just be one lane. Sure you can probably squeeze 2 cars in there to turn out but some vehicles don't have a huge turn radius so maybe you should just hold your horses and wait patiently for them to turn. read more

I am an Ebay seller who prints postage from home and drops packages at this post office.There is a counter section where you can place your prepaid packages but most times the area has so many packages piled high it is almost impossible to safely leave your prepaid mail. It only would take a moment for a worker to clear counter. Wish it would be done on a regular basis. read more

Today, Friday, June 3, 2022 about 11:30 am. I went to the PO. There was no waiting line that time and I was first when the lady ahead of me finishing her transaction. There was only one worker, the lady with the green nail polish on her fingers. She is friendly. I have to mail a package international and I have everything like the custom declaration papers. I said I also want to buy 20 local stamps. The people beginning to come and fall in line. The she begun asking those people what they want. When people need to buy stamps, she told them to come and will give the stamps while I am not finished yet with my package. So people who are behind me buying stamps coming ahead of me and she gave them priority while I was still waiting. I asked while she is attending to the people behind me without finishing me first. She just smile. Then she forgot to give me the stamps that I told her . She forgot about it. Then I bought the stamps after I complained that she is forgetting me because she is attending to those people buying stamps even though they came late. I called the PO and spoke to the one answering the phone. One worker trying to attend to the people same time until she is becoming confused and forgetting me who is the first on line that time until people coming while I was with her. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a self-service machine recently. This addition has made me return to this post office. Another good feature is the full parking lot; the business is not cramped in a downtown area. It has been years since I went to this post office. Years ago, they had a self-service machine but removed it, saying repairs were too costly. Without the automated machine, doing business here was miserable. Lines were extremely long and cashiers would close their lanes at the sight of them. If you are comfortable using an automated machine to buy stamps or ship packages, and live near this post office, I recommend it now. read more

This is not for the post office, but it is for the post man that serves Darien. He tampers with mail and looses my outbound packages all the time. I watch him pick them up, but they get lost and I have to refund my customers. I have tracking on them and the packages don't always get to the post office for whatever reason. read more

I submitted my application back in march of 2017 with my friend. In April of 2017, they received their passport while I received a letter stating my picture was incorrect and had to be redone. I applied for the passport with this post office and I wish I never did, especially with my departure date being 2 months away, but by being 8 weeks I assumed it was fair. Now that it is now May and my trip is in a few weeks, I'm worried that I'll have to pay $70 to expedite my process because the post office passport employee accepted a picture that wouldn't pass the passport agency's guidelines. Back in March when I applied for the passport at the post office, they stated everything including the picture was acceptable and now I might not go on my trip. I'm not looking forward to paying $70 to expedite this process, seeing how it wasn't my fault. read more

Too bad the postal service is being beat out by UPS and FedEx. Now I am understanding how it is happening. When you mail a package ( gift) on a Friday and pay for a Monday delivery, and it is Wednesday...with no tracking or package in sight. Then you call the Westmont post office, and wait patiently on hold for 13 minutes...to get a response that they will email and will get back to me IF they hear anything. Not good. I call the main line ( another 28 minute conversation / hold), and I am assigned a case number that guarantees me a response within 48-72 hours! Really, a package that should get there in 2 days may take up to 10 days to even locate an ANSWER? Never again. FedEx has had my business and will continue! I made a misstep that I will not make again. Give these people Customer Service training or tools to satisfy inquiries. read more

Each time I have been here, the service has been wonderful. Lolita knows everything! She was helpful with passport renewal, sending wedding invitations, and picking up packages. She even stopped me from paying more than I needed to. She knows customers by name, asks them about their children. The other women there are also very nice, but Lolita takes the cake! read more

I hate to complain...really, I'm a glass half full kinda gal, but I've had so many problems with this post office. First of all, my letter carrier only shuts my mailbox after delivery half of the time, so on days it rains...my mail is drenched! Recently I mailed a Netflix on a Wednesday night from the box in front of the PO and almost a week later Netflix still hasn't received it. When I mail it from the EGV PO, Netflix gets it the next day! Anytime I've tried to get to the bottom of my problems, I don't get a response (to my letter) or I'm placated by whomever answers the phone. read more

I had an oversize package need to be sent out of Illinois. I went to the USPS website and was happy to find that the online price is cheaper than the regular price. So I printed out everything and brought to the local office (Westmont, IL). I was told there that my price was not correct and was charged the difference between the online and regular prices. I called the USPS customer service and was confirmed my price was correct. BUT the customer service said I have to call the local office to get refund. Then I did, the manager was careless and rude. First he said if I get the price online, I should ask for a pick-up. If I brought it to local office, I should pay the price got from an office terminal. What a terrible excuse it is! Later he said since my package has been delivered, he cannot see it to confirm its weight, size, so he would not refund me! This is the worst costumer service I have met, next time I will try FedEx or UPS! read more

Truly the worst post office. They have delivered 2 packages to the wrong place. Currently have 2 with unupdated tracking since FEBRUARY 6TH! AND 2 that magically disappeared today. Called & they were no help. Said that the driver scanned packages in front of house and that's proof they were delivered ( not unless u have security cameras it's not??? ) they accused my neighbors of stealing! I told them after 4 lost previous packages and wrongful address deliveries in which my neighbors walked over to my house, I think not. They took 0 responsibility and barely course of action. I was told the driver would drive over to talk to me & I saw him outside, went to walk out & he drove off. So I called back & she said "no he wasn't coming to talk he was coming to see if they were on the porch" really??? I'm not Hellen Keller lol obviously I would've seen them if they were there. Absolutely ghastly customer service & very questionable workers considering all my packages keep being missing. I've lived here my entire life and have always used Amazon Prime and other sites with no issues until the last 5 months. Ridiculous. I prefer to shop online and order a ton, I guess they're gonna walk to the stores and buy my stuff since they can't do their job of getting packages from A to B very well. Extremely disappointed, especially with finger pointing to everyone except themselves. I first spoke with Cory and then a woman who gave me mega attitude, as well as my fiancé when he called later on. No packages for me, only left Secondhand embarrassment for this place.
