It's a post office, so disinterested staff are basically a given, but overall this wasn't a bad post office. I had a package to deliver, and because I am a glutton for punishment I waited until five days before Christmas to do so. Since I had an errand to run out in the suburbs I decided to stop at the post office there with the hope that I would not waste away in line. That turned out to be the right decision, because when I stopped here there were only four people ahead of me. My trip to this post office was complete in fewer than 10 minutes. It's a large post office; I think they have a lot of P.O. Boxes, which takes up a large footprint. There's a large parking lot, as well as a drive up postbox outside the building so you can post your stamped mail. read more

I know not to expect a lot of USPS these days but really, this location isn't even trying. I try very hard to go to one of the Naperville locations or the one in Oswald's pharmacy but sometimes this is just more convenient. Yesterday I went in to get one item. Paid with cash. The total was a dollar and some change and I had a larger bill and the exact change. The clerk asked me twice if I had a single, which I didn't. I finally told her, if I had one I would have given it to you but this is what I have. She muttered the whole time while making my change. Is it that she wasn't given enough bills in her till to carry her through the day, or was it the trouble of having to count to make the change? Whatever it was, the attitude is the same as I have gotten every time I have come in here. Honestly, get it together, because this kind of customer service is really poor. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst service ever. Stopped delivering my mail because my mailbox is "too far off the street". I live in an HOA and all the other mailboxes are the same distance and it's not a problem for them ... it's just off the curb so I don't understand. This post office has a pretty big parking lot compared to some others that I've been to. That's a plus. I would say I see the same ladies every time I come in. Sometimes, they can be very nice and sometimes they'll have that apathetic look on their face. Nevertheless, they would be helpful wherever I sent envelopes or packages. Depending on when you come in, you may get that person that everyone hates to be behind. Examples are people that talk way too much even after they're finished, people that have a huge stack of envelopes or packages, people that move too slow, and people that act like they've never been to a post office in their life. read more

Came here to drop off about ten small packages today in the afternoon. I learned that you better properly address and return address your packages ahead of time otherwise you'll hold up the line up a ton. The line was pretty long (about 20 customers) but it moved quickly. There was three associates working hard and efficiently. It was comforting to see the social distancing reminders on the floor and to wear a mask. The associates were wearing masks and there was a hanging plexi-glass in between the customer. My lady was very kind and seemed to have a ton of patience to be doing this all day lol! My process was super simple since I addressed everything and pre bought envelopes. All I needed was a stamp. The whole store was clean and well organized. This is probably one of the largest post offices I've been too. From greeting cards to so many types of boxes and envelops, they got it all here! They also have gift cards at the register which was convenient if you needed it last minute. I was in and out in under a half hour so I definitely recommend coming here to take care of any of your shipping needs. read more

Convenient AND Cordial? IS THIS REAL LIFE!? This USPO is about as good as it gets, IMO. Well, that and the fact the only other area PO I've gone to, the old biddies inside basically called me out as being a phony orange-head (no sh*t, Sherlock) and called me and/or my passport pic ugly (no joke, they're one of my few 1 star review holders). So, by default this place was gonna have to stoop pretty low to get on their level. USPS Lisle has 24 hour electronic shipping or something along those lines-- that I've never actually used but I can tell you is widely advertised on their banner outside that I've obvi never paid that close of attention. But the real reason I love this place is because worker bees have some knowledge of what's going on with the one thing I care about when mailing something: Postage Fashion. The man at the counter schooled me good on the endangered species stamps and the frequency of their release. I'm currently the proud owner of the first series and can't wait for the second... even though I rarely ever mail anything. read more

I must admit. If you asked me 5 months ago what I thought of these people, I would hate on them. Hate on them, I tell you. But, I am becoming softer. It all started on a nice fall day in September when I went to open a P.O. Box. It's a simple process. You must fill out a paper, pay, etc. BUT, the paper you're required to fill out is only available online. You must print it yourself. Since we're new to the area, we had no where to print... so we had to go to the Lisle library and beg them (we aren't residents yet!) to print out a paper and head back to the Post Office. Question: If you're PAYING for the p.o. box, doesn't it make sense that they would kindly print it for you or have it available on-hand? Answer: apparently not. They continued to be rude to us and refused to allow me to forward from my P.O. box. Somehow, I got around their antics and managed to get almost everything I wanted. Scenario: We moved from LA to Chicago and quickly had to board a plane for work in Europe for 6 months. With no home, where does your mail go? I had our mail forwarded to my husband's work and they sent it on to Europe for us... what. a. pain. in. the. butt. And on top of that, we got in trouble for having a double-forward. They told me that rather than forward from the p.o. box to my husband's work, we should give someone our p.o. box key and let them collect our mail. I. don't. think. so! While we were in Europe, we found out a piece of our mail was returned to sender. A very important document, of course. I called the post office and they told me it couldn't be forwarded, so they sent it back. Why couldn't they just hold it for me? I mean, I AM PAYING for a p.o. box so isn't their job to accept my mail? We were told to call back during the hours of the p.o. box handler (he works like 4 hours a day. good luck!) and finally spoke with this guy who knew ALL ABOUT US. He said he was saving all my junk mail and sounded like he was complaining about it (I am paying for this, did I mention?!?) and told me I should consider getting a larger box and reprimanded me for having a double-forward. AGAIN. Now, the time is nearly up on the forwarding drama and I went in two days ago to pick up the mail. The man who helped me was super super nice. I was really impressed with him and he packed up all my mail in a bag and gave me some boxes to help with my other shipments. I went back yesterday to ship more, and another man helped me. I was a big fan of him, too. He helped me load a box and even allowed me to use some of his tape for free. He was such a nice guy. I have, however, been treated very poorly by a woman named Pong there. Perhaps she should consider a new career. I (sort of) recommend this place. At least they answer the phone and answer my questions--even if they answers they provide aren't what I'm looking for. They do deal with crazies like me with big requests all the time... Buy hey. Most dismissive staff I've ever seen. Have gone there twice and both times I needed help mailing packages of different kinds. I get to the counter, and ask a question and they immediately go to "we can't help you unless you do this" answer, and I ask for more information to understand the nuances and it's immediately "ma'am we can't help you unless you do this" again. I got lucky today ~ first in line !! I have been here when the line is long and the employees are at the end of their rope. I get it ~ some of the people make me want to scream. However, today was quick and relatively painless ~ I did not have to hear anyone's story about how much cheaper is was last week to ship the same size box half way around the world, or someone trying to pick up their brother's mail with not his ID or a signed note from a PO box because they do not have a mailbox. It gets quite entertaining if you are not in a hurry. I do get frustrated when people come in the wrong door and cut to the front of the line and act sooooooooooooooooooooo innocent. read more

I so want to support the P.O., but when it costs me $12.75 just to return a light pair of shoes that were too small for my Daughter, I get pissed! That's almost as much as the shoes cost. I wish I could give zero stars. I sell a lot online and ship a lot of packages. I recently moved to the area and this was my first trip to the Lisle post office. I will never return. This is the worst service I've ever gotten at a post office, and that says a lot. I realize it was a bit inconsiderate of me to show up with a ton of packages right before closing on a Saturday. It was snowing heavily and the roads were bad so the trip there took much longer than I thought. Even though I apologized profusely multiple times, the worker there, Pong, acted like I had the plague. When I politely asked her to scan the packages she said they were scanned, even though I was watching and could see she was literally *pretending* to scan them. She was saying under her breath but obviously for my benefit "I want to get home." I get that you want to get home on a Saturday and that it stinks I came in last minute (which I apologized for multiple times), but sorry, you still have to do your job. A job you are paid very well to do... When I asked her if a certain package had been scanned, because it was obvious it hadn't, she responded with "I don't care" before throwing the package onto the floor. Not into a bin to be sorted, but just directly on the floor. Luckily there was nothing in there that was fragile. It is a miracle that all my packages got scanned in. They wouldn't have been if I hadn't pushed for it. I shouldn't have to coax an employee to do her job. When I asked for her name she refused to tell me, so I had to ask another employee. Stay away from this post office if you can. I will be following up with the post master. read more

My main complaint is with the mail delivery service in Lisle. Numerous times my mail is not delivered after a vacation hold and when I go to the post office to pick up my mail they have to search for it. I was out of town for a couple of days and did not put my mail on a vacation hold. Five days of mail was not being delivered even though we returned home. Two visits to the post office before my mail was found. Included in the mail that was not being delivered was mail order heart medication. If this was a one time occurrence I would understand but this happens frequently. read more

One yelled at me for using the "post office" labels - which I have done for years without the use of the USPS showing (at both the Naperville AND Lisle post offices)....and she made me buy the labels offered for sale... The other woman was a robot -Tumeka. She literally said all of her directions in a monotone, didn't make eye contact and moved at a snail's pace.. I went to this post office last week around 10:30 AM only to find rude postal clerks who seem unhappy with their jobs. There were no long lines, place was empty. My wife advised me not to go due to terrible customer service and disengaged employees and I made the mistake of not listening to her. Now my package has been delayed for over 7 business with no explanation given but it is possible the USPS lost it. Filling out a grievance form leads you nowhere. I will use another shipping provider from now on. Stay away from this place. You've been warned. read more

This post office is efficient, clean and incredibly convenient. I have been going to it for almost 30 years. I find the staff consistently patient, helpful and personable. It is impressive they can be there 6 days a week and be so generous to harried lines over the holidays. The lobby package self help has saved me many a time to meet after hours deadlines. I visited the Lisle PO for the first time today because my own town's PO couldn't be bothered with what I needed. I called the main post office in Naperville regarding renewal of my passport. Talked to Karen who said they do not handle renewals, only first time applicants. I was to go online print a renewal application and mail it in with a photo. I asked Karen if she was certain as I was told I could renew at the post office by another staff member. Karen said she was certain and dismissed me. Well, guess what, Karen? I went to the Lisle post office where Bob was more than happy to take my photo and gave me the proper paperwork and sent it in for me. You dropped the ball, Karen. My own town's post office is lacking in customer service. I will do business with Lisle from now on and fill out on online survey to tell what wonderful service I received from Bob and how Naperville's PO Karen sent me packing. Bob at the Lisle PO was extremely helpful, friendly and spent time walking me through the renewal process. I have had 5 packages go missing in the last 12 months, all of them after they arrived in Lisle and according to tracking were out for delivery then no further update as they were never delivered and no one at post office knows what happened to them. On top of it the people who work there are rude, sarcastic, like our packages simply don't matter. They simply don't give a damn, typical Government Employees. Several friends of mine living in Lisle also complained about packages going missing. We shouldn't have to buy Insurance for our items not to go missing or stolen. If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered a package with 2 day delivery from Amazon on a Friday, expected delivery on Monday, tracking says its out for delivery Sunday. I got really excited, too bad the tracking was updated saying "unable to deliver, incorrect address." Which is a surprise considering I'm paranoid and always double check the address before ordering anything. Two days later (not including the MLK holiday)and the package still not delivered and tracking info never updated. Poor service. My mom never receives the cards or packages that I send on time. The most recent was even more ridiculous. I sent a Mother's Day card to her two months ago and she still hasn't received it. I don't know whether they've lost the card or they've sent it to the wrong address.
