I tried a new post office today since this location opens at 8:30 a.m. It was a quick in and out with my re-printed label. The building is larger than the one I frequent and appears to be less people at that time. Signs as to where it drop off packages were clear and made my trip very efficient. USPS has a bad reputation in general for postal officer frowns and lost mail but today it was a pleasant encounter with Symon at the package intake counter. My wife explained the issue with a recent missing package without a tracking receipt left. A smile with answers without rolling his eyes. We waited in the parking lot for 25 minutes then Symon called our phone and said the package is now here. Wifey recovered the package inside and disaster averted. YAY, Symon thank you. read more

The USPS tracking service said that a an attempt today at 246pm was made at my residence and a notice was left with further information with three options. 1. No package was left 2. No notification alert was made through USPS that the package was out for delivery 3. No mail carrier did not leave a notice 4. Info advised no persons were available at residence to leave package (home all day and agent in lobby - confirmed). Drove to post office and thankfully it was dead and spoke with Symon who listened and told me he would call my phone when the USPS driver returns. I sat in the parking lot until 6pm when he called and held my package. I got it and was happy. Not really sure why a paper notice was not left if the package was returned. Symon went above and beyond and was appreciated and he made up for the drivers mishap. read more

Self-service machine is broken again although I print my postage at home I will no longer just drop off a package without scanning it at the self-service scanner. I came in here after work to buy one Forever stamp for a class project for my daughter. The self-service machine has been broken for days. The postal clerk was apologetic and said that they put in a service request, but I still had to stand in line for over 17 minutes with the rest of the 14 people in line. What's worse is that (1) there were three clerks working and one left! Yes, with that many customers in line at 5:30, the least he could have done was to help his teammates and get all of the customers out as expeditiously as possible; and (2) there was a clerk separating and/or counting green Return Receipt Cards. Not only did she not stop to help and resume the counting later, but one of the two clerks left had to go assist her when she called for him--and then there was ONE! I am giving a 5-star review for Simon (Indian Guy) who is by far the hardest working person in the post office. He NEVER gets upset and ALWAYS handles questions and concerns with highest level of professionalism. Now...the other workers could take a cue from him and learn to work. Zero stars if possible. Long line, only one of the women barely working. The other woman moved around with the speed of a turtle. I have never seen an able body person move so slowly, taking as long as possible to do nothing, except fix her ear pods and chat with the co-"worker". She was blatantly demonstrating absolutely no interest in her job or the customers, and seemed to take pleasure in doing so. In fact, it was so blatant that customers in line were just looking at each other wondering what the delay was. Shameful that these people are getting paid. I was there yesterday 3/14/22 around 2pm. There were 5 employees in the front. 1 guy 4 girls. The guy was busy helping a customer already and the other 4 girls were just standing in the front talking to each other. I asked them too see if any were available. I asked "hello are any of you available?" And the bigger taller girl looks at me and said "did any of us say next?" That attitude was not needed at all i just asked a simple question. I didn't retaliate because i had business so i waited for the guy to finish with his customer. None of the girls offered help. Why were they gossiping and not working? Why can't they do that somewhere in the back or outside of work? Im embarrassed and it sucks that i was treated that way for no reason. Terrible service from the girls. read more

There has to be a better way for my lazy mail carrier to get out of the truck and deliver a parcel that doesn't fit in the box. The carrier instead leaves the note for me to go to the post office to pick it up even after I sign the slip for redelivery. Standing in line at the post office can be annoying when the line is long and the elderly use the postal employees behind the counter as there therapists and carry on very long conversations about what they are returning or sending to their grandchildren. This branch never seems to have enough employees. They also should not take a lunch break when the lines are long at lunchtime. Sometimes I leave because the line is too long and too slow. I think there could be a management problem because there is never anyone enforcing the mask wearing policy while waiting in line. Maybe they should get help from the company with the big smile logo and put pickup boxes inside the branch for quick package pickup. read more

I am a PCA from Massachusetts. I work with elderly/disabled folks helping with everyday tasks. One of my consumers received this letter in the mail and had asked me what it was. It is a SCAM!! Do NOT fill this out if you've received it! It claims to be from Massachusetts when it is clearly from Ft Lauderdale. Stop trying to take advantage of our elderly! Just like the DMV, going to the post office is just as dreadful. I avoid it at all cost. I had to mail back a bunch of unwanted mail to a different state for a previous tenant that used to live with us. There were about twenty envelopes even though the person's new address was on the envelopes but for some odd reason it was mailed to us. When we got there Saturday around 11:30am it was super quiet, we got up front right away to the woman in the front desk. She was so pleasant which was odd in this kind of industry but I was grateful, she couldn't explain why it was being mailed to us. She suggested we buy one of the cheap large brown envelopes for a dollar and change and just stuff it all in there and mail it to the person. While we were doing that, the line grew tremendously; it was like people were following us lol. Anyway, I paid and was on my way. The whole process took five minutes. I thought I was going to be there for an hour so I am super happy about that. This is why I'm giving this experience four stars! I had a good and fast experience. read more

This post office has a large parking lot with two drive-up mailboxes. It is a good size post office. However most of the space it dedicated to post office boxes. It's bright and organized although not always stocked well with supplies. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is rarely a line but when there is, it moves at a reasonable pace. read more

BUNCH OF THIEVES....Because I didn't put insurance on the bottle of Glenfiddich I mailed from Sunrise to Jacksonville, they have the nerve to remove the bottle and put a note saying sorry it was damaged. Bunch of BS, the box the bottle was in was in is perfect condition. They simply STOLE it. Quite obvious that is what happened. So now I'm out over $60 between shipping and product cost and I can't submit a claim because I didn't put insurance. My bad for actually trusting a bunch of thieves in USPS, what a joke!! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! There is no organization to how anything is done. The woman behind the desk moved slower than a sloth. I waited for a half an hour before leaving, and there were six people still ahead of me. When a person isn't prepared, they let them just stand there and fill out the paperwork instead of letting someone who is prepared go. I understand it is peak season and in the middle of a pandemic although it is very challenging when I have business clients sending checks to this location that are constantly getting lost or "never received". The customer service doesn't help, it escalates the issue further- there's not a sense of willingness to help or a sense of urgency to look into the matter. We've asked to speak to a supervisor and all they can say is that they receive their mail from Oakland park and its probably their issue. I go in and see people complaining all the time. I do not know how this post office is still opened. This post office is by far the WORST one I have ever experienced. I had an appointment to get my child's passport at 2pm. I receive a voicemail at 8:23am 7 minutes before opening if I could reschedule due to the clerk leaving for an emergency at 2pm and to call back if this was OK. I have been TRYING to call back for the past 4 hours calling over 30 times and NOTHING. DO they even answer their phones. This is not OK with me as I can not reschedule. I am completely frustrated and they will still just go about their day as if nothing happened. This is uncalled for. I plan on speaking with their manager and supervisor regarding this issue. I was at this post office this morning at 9:30am. There must of been only 15 people waiting in line. The employees only 1 at first and then a second after about 15 - 20 minutes. One employee was with a customer for about 20 - 25 minutes. No idea what that was about. I was there with my daughter from 9:30 until 10:15. That is way too long for anyone to wait in line.
