This is a small boutique USPS store located in the rear of Coral Ridge Mall in East Fort Lauderdale. The agent was polite and helpful, and I was happily surprised that they provide different types of black markers and packing tape for their customers to self-serve their shipping needs. I came in with my box ready to ship, but because its contents were fragile, I asked if they had stickers or tape labeled, FRAGILE, for added protection. That's when the agent directed me to the self-serve counter to use the fat marker and label my box accordingly. In addition, there weren't a lot of customers in the store. I was the second in line both times and the wait was good, compared to other USPS locations. The one thing which is very confusing is that the entrance is the exit and those who go into the entrance to access their PO Boxes, have to walk all the way around, instead of simply across (one set of doors is to the left and another set to the right) to enter the store. There is probably a purpose in having done this but it's not common logic for their customers--and it's inconvenient to have to walk around on the sidewalk to get to the entranceway. You have a MAJOR PROBLEM with staff WITHIN THIS POST OFFICE stealing checks, washing them and writing them to someone else. This is a HUGE problem and I have just become a victim AGAIN as well as my office, several neighbors and apparently, it is WELL KNOWN! I take my checks inside every time to avoid this and now they are routinely stolen and altered once they are in the possession of this post office. Thank GOD my bank is aware. Shame on you USPS! I visited this office to submit my passport application. There was a long line and three attendants. I asked where to go for passport services and was told to go in a room on the side. I waited for 30 minutes when I overheard someone talking to one of the attendants about her passport application. I asked someone waiting in line and they told me I should get in line instead of waiting in the office. Within the line of customer waiting to drop packages, there were two groups in front of me waiting to submit their passport application. Sabrina was handling passport appointments, and I watched her berate a woman and rudely tell her to step out of line because she had missed something on her application. A family with a small girl was next. The parents were applying to get the child a new passport. Sabrina was, again in a rude manner, questioning them about their own citizenship making everyone very uncomfortable and confused. When it was my turn, after waiting for another 20 minutes, she told me I was late for my appointment, and she refused to take my application. Sabrina's behavior was so outrageous, it was borderline comical. I felt like we were in a Seinfeld episode of the Soup Nazi. I realized she was aware of her inappropriateness when she loudly told us: 'And my name is Sabrina for your information' obviously assuming someone was going to complain about her outrageous treatment of customers. I looked up the office on Google and realized the reason why Sabrina seemed to be so emboldened to treat customers in this way. It is obvious that her superiors condone her behavior and do not care about customer opinions and reviews. The bad reviews are extensive on Google, Yelp and Facebook. I am only giving this store a 5 star simply for the postal worker who goes by "Dutch Door." She works on the far end side of where there are mailboxes. I had a live bird get registered wrong on the tracking. After 4 other postal workers told me the wrong information she made a multitude of phone calls and figured it out. If I could leave negative stars, I would. Easily the rudest, most condescending people I've ever had to deal with in my life. When I have to mail something, I go out of my way to another post office because I despise this location so much. They need to learn how to talk to people and perhaps not be on phone calls when at the counter. Unfortunately I "have" to come to this location every so often because it's "my" post office . My Fiancé and I were trying to get a new passport issued and all I can say was this experience was by far the worst I have ever seen. We both had appointments scheduled to get this completed and immediately within walking in the door we were met with hostility. We were there to get photos taken which we were denied because "the cameras were down". We were not notified beforehand. The passport manager then came out and started yelling that we came unprepared and they were cancelling our appointment. We had all necessary documents with us that were outlined on the website. When I tried to ask another question the passport manager would not let me speak and said, "she has been doing this for 40 years" and "doesn't have time to deal with people like me". When I told my Fiancé its time to leave in a private manner the passport manager yelled once again from behind the wall "good! we do not want to deal with people like you!" I have never experienced such a disappointing and rude group of people in my life. Looking back now, most of these reviews seem to have similar experiences. Do not go to this location ever, as the employees at this location are rude and outright unprofessional. These people should be fired as they are clearly not doing their jobs. read more

Great staff. Large facility. Self-serve kiosk if needed. Used the self-serve kiosk to send packages, needed to buy some bubble wrap so then went through line to purchase. The associate was very thorough and polite and even offered me tips on how to ship more efficiently. My only regret is I did not get her name to recognize the friendly service. I will definitely be back. This is my new favorite post office (and I frequent them a few times a week), when I see her again, I will edit and give proper kudos. read more

I went this morning to mail two large envelopes to Georgia and Hawaii. The woman behind the counter, anything between 25 and 40, long braids, African American, already snarked when I came in. Here's the condensed version: (4/24/2023,11:30am PO Oakland and 12th) I asked to mail the 2 envelopes as "Media Mail".(I had been told to). She barked "NO. That ain't Media mail"...so, I asked why she'd say that- "Barked back "because it ain't". So, I asked what defines "Media Mail"( they had flyers and info material, so no personal letters) . She rolled her eyes and yelled at me, "you been asking the same questions over and over!!"- I stayed calm and said " you don't need to get loud, I hear well...if you'd answer my questions satisfactorily, I wouldn't have to ask you any more". She threw a fit, now screaming at her colleague that had just come in "OTIS!! I've about HAD it with THAT ONE! Old white woman ! You take that, I'm not doing that Karen!!!"... I asked her "what's your name?" (she wore NO name tag) . She refused to give it to me. Said she 'didn't have to". (She DOES. ALL need to wear a name tag, AND give it to customers at their request)..Her colleague Otis (wore name tag) seemed to not DARE tell me, but was professional and helpful. Circled the "... to file a complaint" portion of the receipt. I am 'elderly', and, yes, white. I was polite, calm and stayed that way (not easy). Just imagine the situation being reversed! People like her should not have government jobs- they make life miserable as they are to all who encounter her. Just imagine having to work with her every day. Something happens to people when they enter the line of the Post Office that sadly, makes them complete dummies therefore you must wait, wait, wait for the line to go down until it's your turn. There really isn't much to say about this location other than that you can't go here if you're in a hurry. There were two people working on the day that I had come in. And when I saw the line hit the entrance door I knew I was walking into a big mistake. This postal worker named Sabrina has the nastiest, most disrespectful attitude I've ever experienced. We had a 10 am appointment to get passports for our kids since we are going on a cruise shortly. We arrived at 10 but there was tons of construction in front of the post office parking lot so we had to drive around looking for a place to park. We finally figured out where to park and got inside at 10:10 am. I waited patiently in line. At 10:15 when I was next in line she said we were too late. She openly berated us to both her fellow employees and to everyone waiting in line. She said loudly, "What time is it? And what time was your appointment? Take your kids and get out of here." I pleaded with her to have a little compassion and explained, the parking situation caused the delay and we really need these passports stat because we have an upcoming cruise. I've never experienced such cruel treatment to a customer and all my years on this earth. This isn't a review of the post office as such or the mail services. It's a review of the passport services they perform on behalf of the Department of State. This particular USPS office is one of those designated to, as they say, "accept applications for passports and renewals." I said "as they say" because, from my experiences here, that isn't exactly how it works. If you are going to get a passport, not a renewal, you have to first phone in and make an appointment then someone can meet with you, accept you application and for an additional fee, do your passport pictures. It's important phone in because, though they do have a passport desk, I've never seen anyone there, ever, and I've been in and out this area a number of times. Now if it is a renewal, they won't meet with you. Also, they won't answer any questions you may have, as you'll be told you have to phone those in but when I tried that I was merely told that the renewal application is self-explanatory and instead of answering my question was merely told to read the directions. For renewals, there is a form to fill out, and though it doesn't tell you to, be sure to do it in black ink, not blue. While I was there a gentlemen came by and put something behind the counter, and though he said he didn't work at this particular station he said he might be of help and asked to see my passport. He looked it over then told me "It's going to expire in March," which of course I already knew, and that it's only for official customs business, not other things while pointing to a stamp from the Principality of San Marino, with which he was apparently unacquainted. read more

This is the most worse post office ever. Had one encounter with the cashier. It was real bad. She was really disrespectful. Call postmaster said that he will take care of it.
