The nurse was very condescending and arrogant in letting me know that I cannot get any service since I transferred my child for a visit last month with another establishment. I am a mom with 2 kids and I only want the best for my children, so we decided to try another pediatrician practice to know wholeheartedly who we would entrust our children and decide since we will be with the doctor for more than 18 years. My kids are 2 and 4. Why would we not be allowed to meet with another practice so we have basis of comparison? I asked the process to transfer back as I already had a 4 year old visit with Dr Liu for my daughter (a doctor who was recommended by a friend) and this nurse says she has to cancel it because once a transfer to another practice is requested, they will not accept children to transfer back. She could not make an appointment for my sons emergency and she cancelled my daughters appointment coming up next month. She sounded like a bitter ex girlfriend it was a tad bit ridiculous. Give us moms a break if we're just trying to make sure our kids are taken good care of. I am a tad bit OC and I like knowing all options for huge decisions. I was trying to find this policy online but I could not find it. I was not aware turning down offering healthcare was a thing. Bummed I never got to meet Dr Liu due to this nurses so called policy.

In December of 2023, we took our then 18-months old to the facility because he was having a 99-100 degree fever. We waited for about 60-75 minutes (it was 2am in the morning). When it was finally our turn, the nurses and doctors provided quality care. We did some testing and later found out that our baby did not have COVID or the flu. Last week, we took our baby boy again for diarrhea and diaper rash. We only waited 15 minutes this time because I registered and checked-in online. The doctor was careful in her examination and explained our next treatment steps. Overall, I think this urgent care center is awesome.

After filling out a lot of paperwork in the lobby, they finally took me back. The assistant was so rude throughout the entire visit, I cannot emphasize this enough. Additionally, in the beginning of the appointment the Dr offered my son a lolipop and I explained to her that he couldn't have it because he has severe food allergies to many allergens and I couldn't be certain the lolipop was not be cross contaminated. Well, later when she gave me the syringe of meds to give him, I noticed he started itching a lot after taking it. I stepped out of the room and looked where the medicine was and there was strawberry Hersheys syrup out on the counter. I asked the dr if she gave that to him and she said yes she put it in with his medicine because "the medicine tastes terrible"... but she didn't ask me before or tell me it was in the medicine I gave it to him. I told her that I had told her he had food allergies and she said "we try to use hypoallergenic stuff" and then asked me what he is allergic to after I had told them at least twice what he was allergic to. Regardless, trying to use hypoallergenic items doesn't really cut it when it comes to cross contamination and informed consent... especially when she was on notice of a food allergy and didn't tell me she was using food in the meds!!! Thankfully my son ended up not reacting other than itching but I was shocked that she wouldn't even tell me about the syrup or let me read the label and he was already in respiratory distress. Beyond that there were numerous other things that I was unhappy with during the visit, including but not limited to general staff demeanor.

We are so blessed to have found Dr. Douglas / Gold Pediatrics. Our son was born in January and has already had a number of visits with Dr. Douglas. Dr. Douglas is very knowledgeable, kind & patient. As first time parents, we are learning as we go, and a few times Dr. Douglas has also given us tips on what to do / not to do as first time parents. The Gold Pediatrics office is beautiful & clean. It is inviting and welcoming. Our experience with the front desk staff and nurses has been a great one. Everyone is so respectful, kind, and patient. They make everything so smooth and ensure all the documents and whatever else is processed thoroughly. My kids usually see Dr. Fabiola, Dr. Mary Anne, and Dr. Ortega, Jr., of which all have been extremely caring and have educated myself as well as my kids-which is paramount.
