After receiving 5 estimates (some from vendors that didn't want to visit our home), we settled on Genesis Radon. Adam came out, inspected our basement and walked the perimeter of our home. He has 18+ years of experience, is an Ohio licensed radon specialist and contractor. He is a member of various industry groups, and is Better Business Bureau "A+" Accredited. And this is important because as I researched other radon mitigation bids, some had BBB complaints. Genesis Radon had no complaints. He also offers multiple warranties: Lifetime effectiveness warranty means your values will always be at or below 3.9pCi/L; a 30-year workmanship warranty, and a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the mitigation fan. My first day with the keys I realized the kitchen counter was not at all attached to the kitchen counter and there was a leak in the pipes underneath the kitchen sink. After living there for two days the handle to the shower faucet broke off completely - this might not have been something he could've caught but I feel like as an inspector you would typically have a better eye than the average person for things like that.
