I've never written a yelp; nor a negative review on here before, but all it took was one phone call and now i'm off on my horses. I was searching for lifts for my fully independent suspension 2010 ford explorer, with suspension of similar setup of a crown vic, I felt like it was appropriate to contact this business seeing as they sell lifts for crown vic's also of that would accommodate my suspension with one exception; a differential drop. Although this fabrication process would be an easy go, I felt more comfortable letting a bigger business that's known for lifting independent suspensions take the lead in such an idea. I called their number around 4pm EST yesterday (3pm in their time zone; as to the times listed as hours of operation on their website) I let the phone ring for a little bit, and all I could hear was "CAN I HELP YOU ??" of course I asked if this was universal car lifts; as to the man replied with "yes it is"... oh wow okay off to an amazing start. Such professionalism! I'd totally want this guy to build a suspension for me that i'll be driving around on! I explained that I had a 2010 Ford Explorer; to which I got violently cut off to "an explorer??" ... then I politely explained that I'm on an independent suspension and saw that his business was very familiar to lifting a suspension such as mine. Again I got cut off; "WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING FOR THAT" okay, I understand; I just wanted to see if this was a project your shop would be willing to take on. He searched up my year make and model; "YUP WE DONT HAVE IT". Wow dude, can I explain myself? Can I speak? I just gave up. I said "oh alright; thank you" to which he replied "MHM" and that was it. Now, I've been in the lifted community for such some time; and i've contacted multiple fabrication shops to lift my explorer to 7.5"... all of them would either take it on or decline. Which is fine; it's your business and I can't hold you to that! But I wish I could've just even so explained that I wanted to commission, or maybe even just talk to him about what would be needed to go up a little more on my strut spacers, but I couldn't even get a full sentence out on the phone. Please read the reviews on here, what a shame. What's even more of a shame is that I have a budget of $8K to go towards this project & was excited to share this with a business that seemed to know what they were doing, but what a fool I am for contacting a universal lift kit business to acquire about a lift kit. Luckily, I am now i'm contact with liftabrand.com! If ANYONE needs a donk kit or any questions regarding an independent suspension lift; GO TO THEM! DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE. Liftabrand has AWESOME customer service and won't cut you off when you have an idea or question. That's all you want from a business! zero stars!!! these people suck!!! I usually don't try to harm companies with bad reviews, but they asked for it. If they choose to help us (all 8 reviewers and BBB complaints) I will retract this. until then, you will see I've hit a brick wall with customer service, but I'll call that department by it's true identity - customer aggravation dept. all the same complaints as down below and the BBB has a few on them too. parts don't fit, and they tell me i installed them wrong. they are f*ucking clueless! I told them the rear arms are too long and all they want to do is complain about the position of the pinion or the springs perch alignment. yes, the pinion angle is off, why, because your arms are too long, 2" too long and they don't get it. more problems in the front - the upper control arms required so many shims, I have to replace the bolts so I have threads sticking beyond the nuts. literature said custom arm available not offered, request denied. do not, I repeat do not waste you time with this company and do not waste your money on their products. I will be requesting a chargeback from my c.c. company and I'll be seeking a 100% refund due to all of the time they consumed. you have been warned! fix it and I'm willing to alter my review. until then - you suck! read more

Would give no stars but they get one star for reasonably fast delivery. I should have listened to the reviews I read on line. I received a strut spacer lift kit for my 2007 Toyota Corolla and it did not fit correctly when it was placed by my profession auto mechanic. It ended up damaging the suspension system and I had to pay $2700 to repair the damage. I've been using the same auto shop for over 20 years and they have always been reliable. I sent emails to Universal Car Lifts to let them know their advertised product does not fit and to inform them of the problem and I received zero replies. I did not ask for a refund as they do not give refunds on items that have been placed. read more

The upper A arms they sent me for a GM a body were too narrow to properly mount. The extended shocks were shorter than my OEM ones, and we're too fat to fit through the lower control arm. The lift cups claim 3-5" of lift, but I wasn't even able to get 2". After photo evidence of nothing matching their claims, they still won't refund my money. Do not buy from this company, I wasted over $500 for absolutely nothing. read more

NEVER!!!!!! order from here..Ordered lift kit for a cadillac dts all they did was weld a plate to a stock strut..To extend it which leaves a weak point...They won't let me return the product..The lift kit changes the whole ride..its wobbly..They should state more what the car needs before selling the product..You will need more then just the $1,000 lift struts and cups.. It bends the cv joints..I CAN KEEP GOING ON AND ON.. Plus the customer service is terrible..Not sure how they are still in business...0 stars 4thumbs down!!! read more

Worst company ever. Bought a 10" lift kit for a 2010 crown Victoria and they sent something for another car. Nothing fit, every time I call they said yes yes it fits. Called the company that provided them the shocks and told me ... they don't make no shocks for this car. Once the install my OE spring on the new coil over this is what happened. BEWARE This is the worst experience I've had on eBay, This company forgot to ship a piece and treated me as if I was a thief or liar, I had to send numerous photos explaining that it was their fault I couldn't install my lift , when I informed eBay they finally sent my piece through regularly mail which took days, after I told them I needed it in a hurry because I couldn't drive my car without the piece. I spent over $1500 on a car lift kit. Took it to a professional shop for the install. Rear track bars provided didn't fit. They gave me and the mechanic the run around. They kept requesting pictures which we sent. They weren't knowledgeable about their product and said the rear axle wasn't centered because I needed to change wheels. That doesn't even make sense. Finally they said to use the stock arms. Wait a minute! I spend all that money and they say use the stock arms!?!? Then they wouldn't give me a credit for the arms I didn't need because they were installed. They were only loosely bolted in and driven on. Terrible customer service and terrible product! read more

This company is so sloppy. They sell you combinations of automotive lift products claiming that they will function on customers vehicles and they do not, then they do NOT give you your money back when THEY sell you the wrong product(s). We asked their advice when purchasing a lift for our vehicle. Seeking their advice we were told to purchase various components to achieve the lift we wanted and they would bolt up and function properly and safely out of the box. The kit was all wrong and created a serious safety hazard with our suspension and steering. We sent photographic proof. Their stance was "sorry we cannot take it back if it was installed". OF COURSE IT WAS INSTALLED. It wasn't found out to be the wrong until it was fully assembled and installed. This was the third time this single kit had component issues similar to this. The engineering of their products is incomplete and they sell products prior to testing proper fitment and safety implications. We had to use a combination of our old stock vehicle components with their parts we purchased to achieve the result they stated would be achieved with the products we purchased. We asked for a refund of ONLY the incorrect products they advised us to buy but did not end up needing and they will not take them back. We would NOT have purchased them in the first place, had they not told us these specific parts were what we NEEDED to buy to achieve the results they advertise to work. It is not our fault that they do not know their product but choose to portray that they do in an attempt to take customers money leaning on their policy of "once installed no refund" just to maliciously increase their profits. Their offer was to send us different components which would change the overall height of our vehicle beyond our level of comfort and safety. They stated that we now need more suspension lift in order to use the components we purchased. They should have sold us the correct parts when we originally placed our order. read more
