In the bitter, cold wind of the day after Christmas, Zac was under the hood checking my engine. The last month had been a mess. Relationship drama, failing classes, a broken laptop that took two months for Dell to fix, physical illness that left me bedridden for a week... the list goes on. Having my car not start on Christmas Eve was just the perfect topper to end 2017's shit show. Call it fate, destiny, a god send, coincidence, or plain luck... in the middle of waiting 3+ hours for the tow truck to haul my car to the financial and emotion hellscape that is Belle Tire, I was given his number by my roommate. He listened to my concerns, looked into them thoroughly, and even when I was wrong about where the problem actually was... he didn't belittle me and make me feel stupid for not knowing. He was extremely comforting and flexible- often surprising me with how much he would extend a hand out to help even if he didn't have to. Most important of all- he was honest and considerate which in the midst of a time where people treat other people like garbage... is a breath of fresh air. He did his job (extremely well)... but he did so while showing me respect. He treated me as a human with feelings and responsibilities. I felt heard and important, which is exactly what I needed to help me handle moving through this last week. You don't find a lot of people like this. You often come across people who are looking for a money grab, a promotion, an up-sell... an opportunity to take advantage of your lack of knowledge. You don't want to take your car there... but you feel you /have/ to. You feel you have no other choice because despite knowing that they treat you like a number, they are known for doing solid work (at a price). Well, you don't have to do that anymore. Go to Zac. He'll take care of not only your car, but you too. A special note to Zac: I just want to again thank you for all of the generosity and kindness you've shown me. Thinking about how much I appreciate you and the time you took to take care of me and my car brings literal tears to my eyes. It would've been a lot messier situation had you not been there to for me... and I cannot praise you enough for helping me to feel strong and supported during this rollercoaster of a situation. After my knocking engine left two mechanics just scratching their heads and taking wild guesses as to what was causing the knocking noise, I looked online and found Universal Engine Repair. Zac diagnosed the problem right away. The pcv broke and was knocking against the valve cover. A minor inexpensive repair compared to a spun rod bearing, worn valve/valves and possible engine replacement that the other mechanics mentioned. Just picked up my car from the shop, and I must say that this has been by far the best auto repair/mechanic experience I've ever had. Not only did Zac complete several complex repairs quickly and efficiently, but he gave me the best quote in town, worked with me to give me a discount, and replaced my tail light bulb and did a couple of other minor repairs for free.
