The process on scheduling an appointment was difficult as I keeper being transferred to different people and one time I got disconnected. So I was a bit annoyed with that. The day of my appointment everything went smoothly and I was able to do 3 different screenings on the same day. The wait was not bad. The staff and techs were very nice and friendly. Wait time was too long. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time which was at 2:00pm. Completed my paper work and turned it in within 5 min. While I waited for over one hour and 15 min from my appointment time, I noticed that patients that came in after me, we called in much less time. There was one particular patient that came in that knows the staff there and expressed that he had a later appointment but wanted to come in earlier and they to him to do so. He was called inside immediately and I can see he was even filling out the paperwork inside without a wait. Obviously, I can tell that this business gives priority to who they know. Did not say anything but kept in mind all these details to share in my review. I was already stuck there , had given to the staff my id and had paid the copayment so I was stuck. For sure, I do not recommend this place nor I will ever be returning. Very disappointing. read more

I scheduled an 8:00 AM appointment for a mammogram and was not called in until 10:15 AM. I repeatedly informed the front desk staff about the long wait and that I needed to get to work, but all I was told was that my file was "being processed" and that I would be called shortly. Three hours is not "shortly." This place clearly has no consideration for patients who have jobs or schedules to keep. I do not recommend coming here unless you have hours upon hours to waste. read more

According to Google Earth, back in my youth during the early 90s, the location of Universal MRI was just a cowfield. My doctor ordered an MRI and I came to Universal Imaging since it's one of the few places I found that does diagnostic imaging on Saturdays (albeit every on alternate weekends.) Since my insurance was being recalcitrant (aka a pain in the you know where) they worked with me in trying to get it approved. Since that failed, they arranged reasonable installment payments for self-pay/ The facility itself was clean and well maintained. In times of the Rona, they took my temperature and a symptom checklist when I arrived. Waiting room seating is well spread apart. You all know that mri machines are shall we say cozy and loud. I didn't have an issue with either of these personally as referenced with my joke above. Yes, the sounds are similar to dubstep! Everyone from the office staff to the mri tech was courteous and knowledgeable. My only complaint was that the stretcher table was hard and I was sore by nature of what I was getting checked out. They sell you the CD with images for your doctor for $10 as well as send them the report of imaging. I would definitely recommend Universal Imaging when you need to get nuked. read more

Came for a MRI, the front was very helpful and before I went in they checked my Insurance and let me know what was covered and what I needed to pay out of pocket. The MRI Tech was so nice and walked me through the whole process. As for what I saw the X-ray equipment was advanced compared to the Hospital stuff. And much more friendlier. Front desk needs improvement in addressing patients professionally 1) they look at the person if assume appearance seems hispanics automatically speak Spanish; 2) Answering phones promptly: entrance to their place is out of sight. They should answer the phone. I was lost inside their parking lot 20 minutes trying to find their entrance. They did not answer the phone at all. 3) Location needs better signs to guide the public. 4) Mr Guillermo, excellent care with patients. Takes time to help individually based on each need. 5) They do work diligently providing a CD upon finishing the test for $5cost to the patient. Also send reports to Dr. within reasonable time. I do recommend their services. However, I also encourage the facility to take into account to improve these issues important to their success. Thank you for your care. read more

Very unprofessional. The owner is rude and yells at his employees in front of patients without holding back. I mean cursing and all! Place is disorganized and they take forever to process a simple appointment or X-ray. Go somewhere else to have your imagine done... there are a million places out there. read more

I was afraid of going to this place for all the reviews I read here, but while searching for a place to get my exam, I realized that none of the imaging centers were considered good, so I gave a try to Universal Imaging & Radiology and I don't regret it at all. I have to say that I liked the place and the service provided. I had a great experience. I definitely recommend this place. I made my appointment in the same day. When I got there, they were completely kind. I didn't have to wait at all. I got a Mammogram for the first time and I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect, but Sarah took me through the whole exam. She was sweet and made me feel comfortable. Thank you for the great service you are given to the patients. read more

I have to start with the fact that I am surprised this place has 3.5 stars, or at least at the time of my review today. I made an appointment a week ago and since I've lost some time at work, I specifically asked what time was best for me to be seen quickly. I was given a 7am appointment which is their opening time. I left the house early and was glad I did because even using Waze, the place is not that easy to find. When I arrived, they were closed. Despite their opening time being 7am, and while I clearly saw employees and cleaning crew inside, they did not open their doors until 7:05, even though they saw me standing at the door. Had I remained in my car, it might have been later still. I walked in only to hear the young lady at the front desk and the lady doing the cleaning talking trash about our health care system for a good 20 minutes minimum. I know these things happen but when you are at a business that dedicates itself to some form of healthcare, you should not be hearing their own employees trashing the health care. By 7:35am, I had not been called. I asked when I would be seen as I had to get to work and wondered when the technician would arrive and start his day. Again, why open at 7am, why schedule apps at 7am if you do not have any intention of starting until 8am? Sure enough, just a couple of minutes before 8am I was called in. BTW, I was the only soul in sight there so it's not like they were attending to others. I got my MRI done and was told it would take 3 days for a result. 3 days? You cannot be serious. I left and the following day called my doctor to see if the results were in. My doc asks me if they provided me the CD he had requested in the referral he had sent over. Of course not. I call them back and ask why I didn't receive the CD that the doctor had placed on the order? The lady who answered, with some attitude, tells me I had to have requested it before I left. I tell her I did not receive the referral, it was sent directly to them so how am I to know I needed to request that. Again, with attitude, she responds 'what would you like me to do?'. Turns out, I now have to lose more time from work to pick up a CD that they should have provided me in the first place and I have to pay $5. So I ask the lady if it will be ready when I get there (again, I have to lose time from work) since the doctor has not received my results and she tells me she has to transfer me to the Records Center. Three calls later, no answer and the voice mail is full so I can't leave a message. Do I show up only to wait again? I have a lot of patience but this is truly ridiculous. I guarantee that other than to pick up my CD, I will never step foot back in that place and I suggest you look for somewhere else to give your business. They don't deserve it. read more

I was extremely happy with my appointment. The office was difficult to find as I am not familiar with the area but the directions were clear when I called for help. I was not sure why I had a payment due and a very nice lady came out with a print out from my verification and took the time to explain my deductible and benefits. Once in the MRI I was a little claustrophobic and moved but the tech repeated the parts of the test. They took time with me. I understand that extra time they took repeating the parts backed them up but they were very accommodating. You can't rush medical procedures. Will be coming back here next time. read more

After waiting 40 minutes the lady at the front desk said I was next. 5 minutes later calls me to tell me the MRI machine is broken and now there's a 2 hour wait. Originally I thought that this place would be better than the Radiology Clinic near Main Street. I was wrong. You want good service and peace of mind? DO NOT GO HERE. Even Palmetto Hospital has better service and common sense, and people go there to die. My job as a patient is to be treated and have the benefit of the doubt. It is expected that my Doctor should have all the information he asked and wrote directions for. Not for me to be on top of these people so they can do their jobs. My Story? Short Story: These people come up with excuses to not do their jobs and give you a false sense of workmanship all the while belittling you and going around excusing themselves with "Technicalities". The FULL story: I had clear instructions from my doctor to please give me the CD images. I mentioned this Twice and It was written in Bold Letters in the letter I handed them and the medical order form/referral. They assured me after I asked Twice, "We will send it to him in a few days." I pay 46 dollars. Two weeks later, I go to the doctor. Doctor says he never received the CD. That's 60 dollars I payed for NOTHING. (and stupid for the Doctor too for being an imbecile) I call this place, "Oh no mami, you are supposed to follow up with the Doctor to see if we sent it." "Oh no, that's from our medical registry to handle. They work only from 8 to 5...thirty? Uhhh I don't know." If I write more I'll lose my patience. I call on Monday, "Oh no, we need a letter that specifically asks for that, we only send the report" I said I did and that it was mentioned twice in the referral and a letter from the doctor, " Uh I don't see anything on record that says that. Are you sure you did all that?" YES " Uh well. Technically, it needs to be a letter that is faxed to us by the doctor, then we send it to him. You can always ask for them and take it to him." I say FINE. I'll be there by 1 in the afternoon, Have the CD with my Images ready. "Okay Mami, don't worry we'll have it for you don't worry." I get there, ask for my CD "You need to sign in first and wait" FINE. 15 minutes later "What are you getting done today?" Again, here for the CD. "uuuhhhh... I don't see it. Uhhh your CD will be ready in Ten Minutes" 30 minutes later after they start chatting with each other and mouth breathe their way through the other complaining patients. "Sorry for the wait. That will be 5 dollars." MY JOB IS NOT TO GO THROUGH THIS GARBAGE. MY JOB IS TO GET ATTENDED AND NOT WAIT AN ETERNITY JUST TO GET A JAVAVIEW IMAGE. The level of incompetence. If you can spend 10 minutes checking your acrylic nails and talking to your friend about how annoying it is that a patient is all huffy because you are supposed to call the Insurance company, or how another patient is complaining that it is taking to long, then laugh about how another patient is upset because they lost their insurance card and the policy is "We're not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items,"Then clearly you have MORE THAN ENOUGH time to take care of your patients and take less than half an hour to put a few images into a CD instead of walking away and purposely ignoring an old patient who is calling out to you just so you can hide behind a door and rudely hide behind your desk with your imagined air of superiority. Do not waste your time in this place. And Universal Imaging do not waste your time telling me "We looked for your name in our records" bull. You all have brains. You can figure out that a Username is not the same as a name on record or a personal name. If you have the time to do that, you can do your job and attend patients the way you are supposed to. Even Palmetto Hospital has better service and common sense, and people go there to die. read more

Went there for 7 different tests. 5 of the tests were done in one place, another test was done in another and the last test was done in another. It's a medical office and there is somewhat of a wait, like all medical offices, but once they started, it was a very smooth procedure to get through all of the tests. Staff was very pleasant and was pleased with the entire expierence. read more
