I don't typically write reviews, however, Universal Movers LLC deserves a great review for the amazing service they provided my family and I. The last thing many of us don't want to do during a pandemic is move. But it seems that everyone was doing exactly that this year. I contacted three companies and Rudy from Universal Movers outshined the level of service and professionalism I received from his competitors. He coordinated a Zoom meeting where he toured my house. Within 24 hours, he provided me a quote. As I had questions, he responded promptly, unlike his competition where I wouldn't hear back from them for several days. I was already stressed out about the move and how I was going to safely do so during COVID-19. Rudy not only had outstanding communication skills, he gave me recommendations as to how to box my items and things to watch out for from other movers. I knew right away that I was going with Universal as they seemed the most responsive and responsible movers out of the three I contacted. When moving day came, I got a call from their driver, Ray, that he would be arriving shortly. He and two other movers came into our house masked and did a walk thru with me to assess our items. They laid out mats as to not to damage/dirty the floors and made sure their truck would not be in the way of our neighbors. Once everything was packed, Ray shared his cell phone # so that he and I could stay in touch during the transition of our items. This was very reassuring and gave me a great deal of comfort. Within 48 hours, Ray was able to move our items from the Bay Area to San Diego. He contacted me the morning of that he would be at our house within 15 minutes. He and his movers did a great job! There was no damage to either home or our items. I would highly recommend Universal Movers LLC. They not only had competitive prices but most of all, they care about their customers. First of all, it really pays to hire professional movers you trust. We had used Antonio to move my mother and knew that he was careful, fast, slightly less expensive than competitors were, and completely transparent about costs. He checked with us upfront about any costs besides the hour rate: "I'd recommend two packs of furniture wrap for $25 each--is that all right?" He told us when they took a five minute break. He took better care of things than we expected. I had him pack the artwork--he had done it for Mom and I knew he knew he did it with care and expertise. There is just so much wrong about this business, and there is not a low enough score to rate them accurately. To sum it up, go anywhere but here unless you want them to leave your belongings behind, ruin your prizes possessions, show up late, not return your calls and take their time in finally showing up. When I moved, I was so tired by the time they showed up that I had them put some my items in the garage. Since I had to leave on a trip, I didn't notice that items were missing. They left 3 furniture pieces behind! They didn't pack my glassware, wedding china and other items. Let me not fail to mention 3 items of furniture were broken. We've used Universal Movers LLC now for three moves and have been thrilled with their work every time. They were even flexible with some unexpected last minute changes during one of the moves. We've received nothing but wonderful and attentive customer service both from the office and from everyone involved directly in each move. Francisco is an amazing foreman, super thoughtful, and all the guys worked extremely hard every time to finish each move quickly but with the utmost care taken with all our belongings! Extremely professional they showed up with masks early. Like literally a half an hour early. And they did things extremely quickly and with the utmost care. A job that we think would have taken over 2 hours they finished in an hour and a half. They were amazingly careful with all of our stuff and packed our truck very efficiently.
