We used these guys for a new roof, gutters and gutter guards. When we decided to move forward they stopped by for us to sign the contract and decide on colors. The rep acted like it was a pain to leave the samples for the gutters and tried to rush us. I also had no clue he expected me to decide on the spot. After install I noticed they busted the fascia on our home and didn't say anything to us. I couldn't even get anyone to come out and look at it and had to follow up multiple times. The repair was not great either. This company lacks integrity and workmanship. Would not use again. read more

MY attorney told me to change the wording to 'in my opinion' so this is my opinion. We are seeking litigious relief and will update as we go. We started out with a 50K bid for a metal roof. Once they started tearing roof off, they found the wood and insulation were in bad shape so the price went up to 71K. Matt at Universal told me they would sister in boards, put in egg crate for ventilation and new insulation. That was a year ago. We are starting on the redo inside the house and took out the ceiling. I will post entire ceiling for upstairs after we rip all of it out in a day or two. They lied to us. Rotted insulation and one sister board and one egg crate in a 9 foot section. DISHONEST-AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We are having another company redo it from the inside. read more

Since having my new gutters that I also bought the gutter guards, I have had trouble with water flowing over and coming into my finished basement. Who really wants to spend money on a new roof? That's why I had Chris from Universal Roofing come to check out my roof before I purchased my house. He checked and said I had a good 5-7 years left on it! I was so impressed with his honesty! He said to call him if we ever got a hail storm! Little did I know that would be exactly what happened! So of course, I called Chris right away! And sure enough I had quite a bit of hail damage! Chris worked with me, definitely going the extra mile, and my insurance company to get the job done in one day! Probably the worst company I've ever worked with. I absolutely do not recommend them. The salesman came out. I then had to contact him to get a quote. Several weeks later the work was finally scheduled and started. They "repaired" part of my siding by attempting to fill it rather than replace the board (see pic) . After multiple attempts to get someone to fix it, they are charging me another $500 to replace the board even though they admitted they measured it incorrectly . They replaced it finally, but left the board unpainted. After several more attempts to get someone to complete the job, they still have not fixed it. Extremely unprofessional & lacking integrity. Seller canceled the quote appt since they found roofing services elsewhere. However, Universal ignored that directive & trespassed on the property to try and work their way into a quote & the business. Then, the owner of Universal called me to ask permission to provide their roof findings & quote to the other party in a real estate transaction. We said "no" because the seller decided they didn't want to work w/ or be associated w/ Universal in any way after other disturbing circumstances. After stating clearly that our answer was "no," this company shared confidential information & their opinions to another party. They have been unprofessional & aggressive - demanding to meet w/ insurance adjuster to ensure they can get business, etc. Stay away, do not use. read more

This review is solely based on the customer service aspect of Universal. So far their work has held up, but we have had issue after issue in terms of customer service. First off, our project manager was impossible to get a hold of. I tried multiple times and points of contacts and he never once contacted me back. Second, they charged our card three times the amount we owed. Recently, we just received ANOTHER invoice from Universal when we already paid everything. Communication is poor and the errors are just a pain to deal with over and over. Due to these issues I would not recommend Universal to anyone. I also plan on contacting our insurance to let them know because they recommended Universal to us and we have not been pleased. I hate writing poor reviews and like to give businesses a chance, but it has just been issue after issue. read more

I had my house (Lebanon, IN) roof done by Jackson Contracting in 2018 and the company was wonderful to work with and had the lowest of 7 estimates. I got in touch with the company and found out that Universal Roofing bought them for their metal roof business. So, I got in touch with Chris Tillery the Sales Manager that is so sweet, cares about his customers and great work ethic. The roofers were amazing, quick, and respectful to my priority. The gutter company A&F Gutters were so quick, and their workmanship is awesome. It was great that Christian took his time to explain about the new gutters that were installed. If you are looking to get a new roof, check out your roof for storm damage or just to get information then call Universal Roofing. Since this is my first house, I made sure to do my research and would use Universal Roofing (Chris Tillery) on my future houses. Chris helped me get insurance money to pay for the new garage roof and gutters. I am extremely happy with the work completed for me by Universal Roofing and Exteriors. The work included new siding installation, repair of rotting sections of wood, and painting. I worked with Gary as my sales representative, and he was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Crystal was very helpful when scheduling my work, as well. After a fairly long period of backorder by the manufacturer, Crystal was able to squeeze my work in during a few nice days this winter. The crew that completed my work was very efficient and skilled, and the supervisor (I believe his name was James) was extremely professional and explained everything very well (including the additional rotting wood that needed replaced). I was extremely impressed with James taking care of some accidental damage on my ceiling inside, which happened due to accidental dropping of a hammer. I assumed it was incidental damage, however James brought it to my attention and had it promptly fixed. You can't tell there was ever a hole in my popcorn ceiling now because the drywall man did a wonderful job! The painters also did a phenomenal job painting the trim, existing siding on my sunroom, and doors. I am overall very happy with the work, and would recommend Gary and Universal Roofing & Exteriors to everyone! read more

Universal Roofing replaced our roof a few years ago after a bad storm. They left a lot of damage to the exterior of our home when they left - a window screen was cut and the large piece of glass in our back door was scratched were the biggest two things. They fixed them right up though without a fight. Our small issues have been since that time. We had a problem with our roof/the siding on our house above our garage. Water was getting into the garage somehow. They said they knew what it was, and we paid $800 to fix it. We had a large rain about a month ago and discovered water is still getting through inside our garage. We have reached out a few times, and the person we are supposed to be getting in touch with is very difficult to get a hold of, and we can't get him to respond. Not a great level of service here although my husband says they seem to be nice people for what that is worth..... read more

I was so pleased with Universal Roofing when they came to look at the leak we were having in our 10 year old roof. They were the only roofing company out of the 3 that I called to actually return my call and make an appt right away. When Jay came to our house he was very friendly and respectful. We felt comfortable with him. He was very honest and even told us with the issue we had, we could wait and see what happens during the next heavy rains. He even said that our 10 year old roof still looked really great. We weren't pressured into having work done that didn't really need to happen right away. I called Universal Roofing based on the (4) good reviews I read about them on line. I had some questions concerning my roof about what repairs "might" be needed. I called one morning right before lunch and got their VM. I left them a message to call me. Nothing. The following day I called again. VM.....left another message. No call back. Finally, I decided to try one more time, and this time a lady answered. I told her about my issue.......she put me on hold.....and then came back a few minutes later and said someone would call me back. It's been another 2 days. I now must agree with the bad review I read on here. I guess business much be really good and they do not need any more customers. That's ok....because Universal Roofing is not the only roofing company out there. read more

They did a great quality job on replacing my roof and they helped me fight the ins. co. to get them to pay for the roof. It took a while but they stuck through the process where other disappeared. Recommend them to anyone. read more
