This place has a corporate feel. If you need help it feels like you're lost in the masses. You can't always rely on their system. They get the job done but sometimes you have to wait much longer than expected or told. This is a little stressful when you're waiting on your medication and don't want to go without it. I'm very disappointed with this pharmacy. I had been using them for close to a year. On my last refill they said the price had gone up, what sounded like $70 dollars per package so maybe a couple hundred total. To my surprise when looking at my bank statement the total cost of previously $600ish was $2,082. I called them today thinking its a misunderstanding and we can easily figure it out, but the associate and manager that he decided to put me on with were extremely condescending, dismissive, and flat out rude. If you do business with these people make sure they tell you the total cost explicitly before agreeing and letting them charge your card. There are many different ways to handle a misunderstanding and these people handle it in the worst way. I will never use them again! read more

Update - Someone called me within an hour of the original 1 star review below, and they rectified the situation. Given that the experience was like this for so many months, do not think they warrant a high review. The system is very inaccurate and regularly said there were prescriptions to refill only to call, go through the system of press 1, press 1, enter your RX, enter your birthdate, etc. then be told there is not available refill. I don't know why there would be any surprise to the review with a system like that. Ongoing terrible experience with this pharmacy. Monday - voicemail to call that they received a new prescription from my doctor, need me to call to authorize. Wednesday/Thursday/ and today in the morning, text messages saying the same thing, they received a new prescription and I need to call to authorize. I call and spend some minutes going through the automated process and it advises along the lines of "We have requested but prescription has already been filled. There are not available refills on this prescription. We will contact your provider" This happens every month several times per month. It's numerous calls back/forth to get a prescription. If the prescription had been filled, why did you text me otherwise 5 minutes before? Their system appears to be broken. read more

First time using a compounding pharmacy. Self disclosure, weight loss is a problem for me. I exercise and eat minimal but the pounds stay on/add up. With the recent change in medications like Wygovy moving to a tier 3 it is now unaffordable. Fortunately I have a doc who truly cares and sees the benefits. I'm not advocating for people to seek medication assisted weight loss. If you can do it with diet and exercise please stick with that. For me, a low dose, (and I mean absolute minimum) has become necessary. Enter UCP. My former pharmacy with insurance would cost me $700 for Wygovy. It's still not fully obtainable but UCP filled a 10 week script for $300. It was ordered late in the week so I had to take the weekend into account but once it was mailed I got it the next day, surrounded by ice packs and all needed supplies. My suggestion would be to add a conversion as the doctor script reads a certain milligram not syringe unit. People like myself are math illiterate. I had to call UCP for that conversion. Operator was very polite and routed me to a pharmacist who was extremely understanding and knowledgeable. While it is preferable to get medication from regular sources when healthcare becomes unaffordable it is nice to have alternatives like UCP. Looking forward to seeing how their version adds up. If the service so far is a prelude of quality then I have high hopes. read more

My experience with this pharmacy for Tirzepatide was terrible. Despite charging a $25 "overnight shipping" fee, my medication wasn't delivered on time. My dr's office ordered early Thursday morning, yet it wasn't shipped for Friday delivery, forcing me to delay until the following week. When I requested a refund for the $25, the Pharmacy refused, claiming it's their standard "shipping"fee regardless of actual overnight delivery--completely different from what they told me and my doctor's office initially. If they can't stand by their shipping promises or their mistakes, how can I trust their product? On top of that, their customer service was rude and dismissive, with a representative hanging up on me when I called to inquire why it's not shipped timely and suggested involving my doctor to resolve the issue after he conveniently try to blame the office for not ordering it on time. When the medication finally arrived, it made me sick & didn't work as expected. I've since switched back to the previous pharmacy, which, while more expensive, offers a better product & respectable/ reliable service. For $650 a month, this pharmacy's poor service & lack of accountability make it a hard no. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

As I sit on hold with University Compounding, returning a call to them for the 4th time, I am able to avoid getting too frustrated by spending my time looking up and writing several negative reviews because of their impossibly SLOW RESPONSE TIME. Inefficient proceedures force the client/ me, to track, follow up, call again, follow up, etc. I had to call my Dr. to get the approval for the perscription because they weren't patient enough to get through to him apparently. So another call I had to make that they should have been able to do. We were communicating several times about it as I am traveling and the perscription must arrive to me in 5 days now. Mind you this process stared 9 days ago. when they got the approval, I get a text to call and authorize it. They have my card on file, and were told to use it, but no, I had to call and say, "fill it". That's where I am now......on hold.......again.......7 minutes and counting...tired of listening to their advertisements on an array of penile therapy...... read more

Every single time I call this pharmacy, the person who answers is always very polite & helpful & the employees are the best!!! Today I spoke with Gladys in the pharmacy who took care of all my needs. When I asked a question she couldn't answer she quickly transferred me to a pharmacist, Melissa? who made a few suggestions regarding my problem & offered to contact my Dr to make a recommendation for an Rx that would be more helpful. They received an order from my eye Doctor to make two fortified antibiotic eye drops on a Friday afternoon at 4:35 PM and were able to have them ready for pick up by 5:00pm. Misgendering someone happens all the time and isn't a big deal. But this was just not the case. The medication I was persecuted was specifically not for biological females and the first time I ordered it from this pharmacy they even went over how this wasn't generally for females not knowing I was trans at the time. I felt awkward and didn't tell them I was trans because it ALWAYS causes an issue when people find out. When I told them the medication wasn't for me, I was told they generally do not prescribe medications like this unless it was being used directly by the patient but they would make an exception. When I called for a refill today the representative, Donna, had my correct legal name along with the prescription I was refilling. She started the call with "Okay sir where would you like this medication sent to?" I was taken aback but thought "oh she must have just said that because of the medication". Then I asked her outright thirty seconds later if she had "said that because I sound like a man or if it was because of the medication?" after briefly giving her my address. It was a mistake. It had to have been. I hadn't spoken at the time she had said that and likely assumed because of the prescription. Totally fine. But at was at this point I was hit with "oh no. I did that because you sounded like a man." I responded with "Seriously?" She said "yes you do." I said "really are you sure?" She then goes "yes I said that because you sound like a man and that's why I had misaddressed you." I hadn't spoke yet when she had originally said this so now it was clear this person was doing this with the intent to upset me. Her voice and tone were cold beyond words. I asked to speak to a manager and she transferred me almost like she was ready to go to war over this. Passive aggressive in tone with every word out of her mouth. I spoke to her manager who instantly sided with me after listening to the previously recorded call and forwarded me to the owners. This person gets on the phone with me, and from their very first word, had NO sympathy towards the previous situation I was just put in. The previous manager who had decided I had a case, along with ANY sympathetic tone was now completely gone. I was left with a very stern and combative personality instead. They made me feel unwelcome on the call from the very beginning, which made me feel like I should just drop the whole thing because I didn't wanna be put on the spot and made to be seen like just another crazy trans person causing an issue over nothing. They repeatedly spoke about the situation in a way that reaffirmed that their employee likely did nothing wrong, but they would "look" into my complaint. I quite literally felt so awkward at this point I kept trying to defuse the situation by saying "if I'm in the wrong here, I have no problem admitting it please just listen to the call and tell me if I'm wrong" I then said "I understand this may come across as an overreaction and that gender dysphoria may not seem like that big of a deal to you," but I was then cut off. This person then said "now you're doing what you are claiming we did to you, you are assuming I'm not transgender and that I don't know what I'm going through. You don't know what I've gone through in my life, you don't know anything about me and you're just assuming things." They were not trans. At this point I was so upset and hurt. I responded with "You know I have a large social media following and could have taken this in that direction. If the next word out of your mouth-" And look I understand that me getting heated in response to somebody mocking my life trials that I have gone through as a trans person wasn't the correct response. But the intent was to say I could have been one of those annoying trans people and got online and made a big stink about it, but I wasn't given the opportunity to finish my sentence. They then canceled my order and banned me from the pharmacy indefinitely while doing nothing to reprimand the employee who initially started this. NEVER give this place your business. read more

I've been using UCP for several years and in the past, their service has always impressed. Lately things have gone downhill and they have been getting increasingly difficult to deal with. When my health care provider ordered a new prescription they won't fill it until they contact me, even though I requested the refill. I finally talked to them last Friday and they sent an email saying that the medication will take up to 48 hours. 3 days later and it's still not ready. Now they say it will be 2 more days. read more

Although I have used this Pharmacy in the past with good results, this time was most disappointing. On Monday August 26th I called in a prescription refill for my dog and because their system would not cooperate, I actually had to call back and speak to a live person to refill the prescription. Because they were faxing the request to the wrong number, although we have had that prescription filled there before, the prescription was not filled for over a week. I called the pharmacy twice last week and did not get an answer. I realize they're busy, but the second time I left a message and nobody bothered to call me back and let me know they were unable to fill the prescription because they were faxing the request to the wrong number. Finally on Friday morning I got to speak with someone and they told me that they had not heard back from the vet so I called the vet and the vet said they had not received any requests from the pharmacy and Miss Vanessa personally called the pharmacy to make sure that they received the request and that's when she found out they were faxing to the incorrect number. They did not have time to fill the prescription on Friday and it was a three-day weekend, but ironically they had time to charge my account over $60 for the prescription!!! I will be using another vendor going forward. I consider this pretty poor customer service considering my dog needed that prescription! When I went to pick it up this morning, not a word was said to me about how sorry they were for messing it up or the inconvenience to myself and my dog, it was just business as usual. My interaction with this pharmacy has been less than good. I needed a prescription filled for a medical device I would need about ten days following surgery. I had the prescription sent over before the surgery. They simply dropped the ball. Now at a week plus following surgery, it looks like I will not have the device when needed to start my rehab next week. They are very nice on the phone, but nothing seems to happen. Pleasant customer service reps get them two stars, but it's been 15 days since the prescription went over with no device. In this business, that's simply unacceptable. If your doctor wants to send a prescription to this company, I would hope that it's not critical to your health. I would recommend going elsewhere. An update to the above. The owner says below that they strive for a 2-3 day turnaround. They may strive for it, but striving is not good enough when it comes to health. It will be at least 25 days before I might receive the medical device prescribed last month. It has now been more than three weeks since the prescription was sent to the pharmacy. You can see that I received a nice note from the owner below. Shortly after, I received another phone from one of their very polite customer service representatives. It is now one week past when I could have started my rehab. No device. I am lowering my review to one star and advising that this pharmacy does not demonstrate that they care about my health - and most likely the health of any reader of this review. Stay far away. If this is where your prescription is going, demand that the prescribing doctor send it elsewhere. read more

By far customer service driven companies will succeed. This location exceeds at that as I have always been greeted warmly and assisted immediately when I visited. My G.I. recommend this location to me because the medication she prescribed me would have costed nearly $800!!! Not at this place, with just a minor edits to the prescription I only paid $50!!! And this was even recommended to me by a technician there! So they wanted to save me money?!? Can't beat that. Now it will not work with all medication but if it's possible ask your Dr to write out what the medication is (not the actual brand name) and see if it's possible for them to help you here. Parking is on the street but I have yet to come and never not find a parking space readily available. I do recommend going in to place your order for your prescription as they do have a check in offer to save you even more $$$... Love this place and how they help! read more

I definitely dread that monthly rush-hour trek downtown to pick up my prescription every month, but whenever I step inside UCP, it's always a pleasure to deal with the staff, which has been consistently professional, friendly, and personal over the past three years I have been a customer. They treat you as an individual, paying good attention to detail and they are flexible. It's easy to order refills -- I just call their 24-hour automated number and enter my prescription number (an 800 phone number is available). Usually my order is ready the next afternoon. In the past several months, the pharmacy started calling me (a person, not a machine) when my prescription was ready. My compounded medicine requires refrigeration, so I try to remember to bring back the foam case and ice pack. The pharmacy gives you a dollar off for reusing the case. The pharmacy has a large selection of nutraceuticals, vitamins, diet food, and natural products. They take insurance, but please note that not all health plans cover compounded medicines, so you should check your coverage. And although the I-5 freeway isn't fun driving after work on a weekday, the pharmacy is conveniently located on the edge of downtown next to the freeway, so it's easy to get in and out of the pharmacy quickly and back on the road. Parking is easy -- just pull up to the green curb in front of the building (there is room for four or so cars), or park in the big adjacent lot. Plus, the pharmacy closes at 6 p.m. weekdays giving you enough time to get downtown after work (albeit in traffic on the freeway). I only wish the pharmacy was open on Saturday, which would be even more convenient! read more
