I recently had a biopsy done in March 2026 at University Diagnostic Medical Imaging at 1200 Waters Place, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable and at ease. Nyaisha Ruiz, the medical assistant, was absolutely amazing. She took the time to explain everything to me in detail, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. Her calm and reassuring demeanor really helped ease my nerves. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made me feel like I was in very good hands. Dr. Bernstein was equally wonderful. The procedure itself was so smooth and quick that I almost forgot I was even getting a biopsy. The only thing I really felt was the small pinch from the lidocaine, and after that it was completely painless. The whole thing lasted about five minutes, and I was honestly surprised at how easy it was. The level of professionalism, care, and compassion from both Nyaisha and Dr. Bernstein made what could have been a very stressful experience feel completely manageable. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I always bring my mom here for all her scans. She's had a few of them done. On Friday 10/3 she had her mammogram done. Scheduling the appt for her wasn't difficult and the check in process was quick. My mom was in and out in about 45 mins and took the van to the MTA bus. There are restrooms nearby and it's close to the entrance. The wait time here is absolutely sickening. I got here late for my appointment and I had to reschedule. Fair. So next time, I got here 40 minutes EARLY. I didn't get seen early like how I thought. Instead, I'm here almost an hour past my appointment time... which means that I could've gotten checked in for my last appointment although I was late. I've used UDMI for years, can't number the years but it must be over 10 years. My experience in the past has been stellar. Clean exam rooms, technicians professional and kind. However, recently, the service at the front desks and the appointment center leaves a lot to be desired. I experienced two separate encounters that were alarming, especially at the appointment section (this was in person). Not sure what triggered the receptionist, but I was waiting patiently for her to finish with a patient and scrolling through my phone. Noticed she was finished walked up and said hello and all hell broke out. In the end, she was unprofessional and it left a slight distaste for UDMI. The fact that the manager was in the background watching and not intervening spoke volumes about the culture of their office. If it wasn't for the rest of the team, I would use other services. read more

My experience was great. Friendly staff really held my hand through a stressful experience. No wait, quick review and report post scans.

I was referred to University Diagnostic by my PCP to get a thyroid ultrasound. I had never been here before, but it's close to my PCP's office and he has a close working relationship with them so it only made sense for me to go here. UDMI is located in the Hutchinson Metro Center - a multi-use complex off of Waters Place. While making an appointment was easy enough, it was another story to find parking. Due to the sheer number of businesses and complexes here, it can be prove quite difficult to find a spot (especially later on in the day). I eventually found one though, and made my way inside. The whole process at UDMI is very structured - walking in I was checked in at the desk and given some demographic forms to fill out (since I was a new patient). I was then called up again to the desk where they input all my information into the computer. I then waited again for my name to be called for the actual procedure. The procedure was short and sweet, and bonus points for everyone I encountered being super nice and informative. Despite the waiting room being pretty crowded there were plenty of seats for everyone, and I was out of there within an hour of my appointment. A number of reviews here complain of super long wait times, but I guess your wait has to do with the type of procedure you're getting (and they do quite a lot of them). Overall, I had a smooth experience at UDMI. Everyone was professional and I was taken care of swiftly. read more

Very rude at the front desk after first telling me that my workers comp was not accepted. Then no apology when they realized that they were wrong. Gigi was not pleasant nor was the young woman who took my information (I did not get her name) nor was the woman sitting next to her who obviously couldn't mind her own damn business. The 3 stars (he deserves 5) go to the gentleman who did the X-rays. He was pleasant, cordial and polite. Also, being that I was the last patient for the day, the wait time was minimal which surprised me. Clean facility. Very difficult to get to unless you drive. I've been going here for about 15 years and the only issue is parking. The staff has always been great and I'm usually in and out in about an hour. It look like they've updated the seating in the waiting area which is good. Now if they could just do something about the parking! I joke, they actually have a garage now which is where I had to park today, it was a short walk to the building. read more

I came here for an HSG radiology procedure. I have to say from moment I walked in and it was busy, all the front staff girls were on the ball. Running a tight ship upfront very organized. My procedure was done by the lovely Dr. Noble. Yes it was extremely painful but Dr. Noble and my sweet caring nurse Kelly took away fear n anxiety. Dr. Noble has incredible bedside manner. Well, I went here over a year ago (April 2015) and never left a review but I will now. Hopefully things have changed since then... The front desk inside of the medical office was staffed with about 5 ladies. They NEVER stopped talking and they were quite loud for a doctor's office. Then after I checked-in, one of the ladies who never stopped talking, forgot to put me in the system so I was waiting for about 30-45 minutes and no one had called my name. When I went to check on how much longer it would be, do you know what her response was? "Have you been sitting here the whole time?" It took EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING to NOT give her an open-handed smack in the mouth. Seriously. Maybe if she had stopped talking and actually paid attention to ME, then she would have done a better job at checking me in. But guess what?! After she checked me in the 2nd time...I STILL had to wait for at least another 40 minutes. It was torture. But it would have been bearable had those ladies just closed their lips and trapped all the damn sound INSIDE their mouths!!! I promise I will never return to this God-awful black hole of a medical office... Ever. read more

Horrible experience after a month waiting for a specialized test which the Dr's office confirmed 3 times, someone at UDMI entered the wrong test code in the system. Going in for a specialized cancer test and they entered an MRI for kidney stones. Not even close and forced me to find somewhere else that could perform the correct test since they did not offer it. To make maters worse they handed me a copy of my Dr's script which clearly showed the correct test an went on to blame my Dr's office for the error. read more

I have been going to University Diagnostics for routine annual mammograms for over a dozen years and never thought much about it. Since I always get an early morning appointment, the waits were short and I was in and out quickly. This year, for the first time, I was called back for "additional imaging" rather than just being given the all-clear, see you next year letter. I didn't want to worry about it over my upcoming vacation and called to see how quickly I could come in. I was given an appointment for 2:30pm the next day. I arrived 2 hours early (I got a ride) and was checked in immediately. I warned the check in lady that I was ridiculously early and would happily sit and read until my appointed time. I didn't have time to open my kindle before I was called inside. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, efficient and reassuring. They got my tests done and results read (all's well!) and I was on my way in no time. It's understandable that people who have bad experiences are more likely to vent. But in the interest of a complete picture, I think it's only fair that unexpectedly good experiences should be given credit as well. read more

I was so pleased to go to this facility! Not only that I was scheduled the next day for mammo ( the center where I used to go gave me an appt. within 4 weeks, despite the urgency that was explained to them), but the biopsy was done next day! Where else can you get such understanding? Staff was very good and Dr. R. Bernstein has extremely gentle hands, the biopsy did not hurt a bit, all time he was talking, letting me know what he was doing and even telling jokes! Worst place to come for a simple X-ray! They make you wait for hours and that's for handing in a registration form, I literally fell asleep waiting to be called, if I didn't approach the receptionist to see what was going on, I would've been there until closing time! Meanwhile they have plenty of staff acting like they're workin and not calling anyone. I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

I came here for an MRI. When I made the appointment, the lady assured me that I would be in and out in 20-30 minutes. That was great news! Obviously it was too good to be true. Come game day, I was there for over 2 hours. The MRI itself only took 15 minutes. So there I was, waiting in line. When it came my turn, I was given a few pages to fill out, then sternly instructed to have a seat and not to get up until my name was called. So I filled it out (took about 7 seconds), then sat quietly and motionlessly, straining my ear for the sound of my name. 35 minutes went by and my ear was still a virgin, so I finally gathered enough courage to timidly approach the desk. The same lady who gave me my 7-second paperwork asked me my name again (I guess it only takes 35 minutes for you to forget a person's name), then realized that she forgot to check me in. So I sat down again, once again waiting for my name. Another half hour goes by, so I again tiptoe back up to the desk, extremely apologetic for being so rude as to interrupt the ladies in their Farmville games and comparisons of nail polish. One of the ladies simply picks up my paperwork and leads me inside...to the secondary waiting room. Here is where I read about the new $2 million Bugatti Vitesse and its 1200 hp mid-engine. Man this thing is incredible. 8.0L, 16 cylinders, tops out at 255 mph. That's crazy. I couldn't imagine sitting in something that fast. I am so disappointed with the service at this facility. I was told that I had to wait 2 hours for my MRI, after 2 hours I was not even called inside. I had told them specifically that my daughter had a soccer game that I could not miss. They just told me that they are backed up and if you are not seen after 2 hours you can reschedule. Basically, after you waste 2 hours then you can reschedule.This facility is over scheduling patients and/or they need more MRI machines. Having patients wait long periods of time is extremely disrespectful and a great inconvenience. I am an informed patient and I know that MRIs are not cheap. Insurance companies pay quite a bit for MRIs. There are plenty of Diagnostic Imaging Facilities. I will not go to get my MRI at a location that has that "take it or leave it" attitude. Wow, I had an absolute different experience than most, I guess. The line to see the receptionist was very fast and they were very nice to me. I spoke to three of the receptionists-sweet, kind and professional(No, those weren't their names). The tech who walked me to the x-ray machine and took the x-ray was a real nice woman. Scrap service ! been today morning to do MRI, waiting almost 2 hours after registration but no call then talk to reception and found my documents left on the back table. Then she called to MRI and let me know they are running late and i have to wait an additional hour. she was suggesting me to reschedule it without feeling sorry. Took morning off from the job but could not complete my MRI that i needed utmost. Waist my time and now uncertain when i can do it again. They should compensate for this !!!!!! read more

They service a huge community and have every kind of imaging you need. It is easy to schedule appointments and to pick up copies of scans. As busy as they are, the staff at University Diagnostic still manages to take an interest in the patients who come into their care. They go out of their way to be courteous and caring. This goes for the wonderful women behind the front desk to the technicians who perform the diagnostic testing. In addition, the test results are made available to one's physician in a timely manner. Hopefully, I will not require diagnostic testing again in the near future, but if I do, I know where I will go and why. read more
