At various times in the recent past, one of their agents has recommended a policy or change in an existing policy that I would have never considered or even imagined that ended up providing much more protection, saving me money, improving my life, making my family safer, and avoiding inconvenient oversights or mistakes that would have cost me dearly in both time and expense. The quality and value of the insurance products and companies they represent cannot be overestimated. I honestly don't understand how anyone would purchase a policy direct from any company even if there appeared to be a cost savings (which is rarely if ever the case). I would never consider buying an insurance policy anywhere without first consulting with them or allowing them to propose an alternative. I would highly suggest that anyone reacting to an advertised offer, no matter what the perceived savings might be, should check with them first. When the time comes (God forbid) to file a claim, you'll probably learn the difference the hard way--or just suffer in ignorance. A simple comparison would surely be worth the time. I initially inquired about coverage for my home after given what I thought was a very good quote. I even mentioned to Beth that it was considerably lower than what I was currently paying. Because my policy, with another company, had increased and my renewal was in June 2025 I was contacted by AllState after using a search engine for companies that covered my location. After given the quote and informed that I would be receiving an email to complete the sign up documentation I immediately realized that the zip code was incorrect that had been entered by Beth. This prevented me from going forward to complete the information. I immediately called and left a message. I was contacted quickly and was told by another agent to "just go ahead and enter the wrong zip code and they would correct it on their end after I completed the form". I informed the agent that I would do nothing of the sort and to send me the corrected form and then I would proceed. In the interim I was then contacted by Beth who said she was informed by the other agent of the details with the incorrect zip code. She said she would call me back as soon as she found out the matter. The matter was that she entered the incorrect zip code even after I repeated my entire address and zip code to ensure she had the information. Clearly that made no difference at all. That careless mistake was over a $1,500 annual premium mistake. I informed her that I would not be going forth with the coverage. Thank goodness I had not contacted my homeowner policy that I presently had. The premium quoted after the correct zip was entered was actually $1,000 MORE than my present insurance. An apology was offered and I was told that no money would be debited my bank account. Second "careless mistake" transpired today when I saw that a first month premium was debited from my account! I don't believe it is unreasonable to expect someone who does this for a living to "get it right" the first time. Perhaps it would better serve this office to restrain these associates and require a competency exam periodically. AllState? No thanks!
