Then I began to realize they not only could offer me coverage for any need or application but also provide a level of expertise, experience and knowledge that would be very difficult to find anywhere else--a tremendous value add at no additional cost! At various times in the recent past, one of their agents has recommended a policy or change in an existing policy that I would have never considered or even imagined that ended up providing much more protection, saving me money, improving my life, making my family safer, and avoiding inconvenient oversights or mistakes that would have cost me dearly in both time and expense. The quality and value of the insurance products and companies they represent cannot be overestimated. I honestly don't understand how anyone would purchase a policy direct from any company even if there appeared to be a cost savings (which is rarely if ever the case). I would never consider buying an insurance policy anywhere without first consulting with them or allowing them to propose an alternative. I would highly suggest that anyone reacting to an advertised offer, no matter what the perceived savings might be, should check with them first. When the time comes (God forbid) to file a claim, you'll probably learn the difference the hard way--or just suffer in ignorance. A simple comparison would surely be worth the time. Plus these people are friendly, professional, honest and neighborly too.

Broken windshield, dented hood and roof, and mechanical damage as well. The claims experience is great. I had rental car coverage and had a car the same day. This kept me on the road until the windshield was repaired. I waited until school was out to do the other repairs. All went well. I carry auto, homeowners, and umbrella coverage through Amica. I believe I was mistreated by this firm on two separate policies, for a period of time spanning…read moreseveral years. The fault seems to lie with one employee, who is no longer with the firm. One of the instances involved my representative going over, in detail, the policy she said she wrote for me, according to what I had requested, as I had moved out of my condo and needed to change the policy from tenant/owner, to a landlord policy. She never actually did it though, which the firm informed me of years later after the representative was no longer there. They did, however, collect my premiums for three and half years. Had there been an event to trigger a benefit, I would have no doubt been denied because I did not live there (a requirement under the old policy I requested changed). When I reported this they told me that since the actual policy was mailed, there is nothing they can do to make me whole for years of paying premiums for coverage I never had. So the position of Statefarm seems to be, despite listening intently to my insurance representative, I must also go through the mailed contract in detail, because Statefarm agents are not to be trusted. Just because an agent says, on several occasions, that a thing is done, and goes through the details over the phone, she might not actually do any of that, and Statefarm will not be held accountable for anything their agents do or say. The people at Mary Wilson State Farm always seem so nice, and I do not enjoy writing a bad review about any firm, particularly a small business. But, the individual consumer has little power in the marketplace, and generally cannot afford the time it takes to exercise that small power. Businesses should therefore be held accountable, to whatever small degree possible. Platforms such as this at least give the consumer the opportunity to share such experiences, instead of allowing the company to just sweep them under the rug.

Saved big bucks with different insurance company. Nationwide entered the date of insurance change wrong (whose typo ? doesn't matter). The DMV said I had a lapse in my insurance. It took this office several weeks to correct it. The DMV threatened to take my plates and at the 11th hour after I called the corporate office repeatedly, it was finally escalated. The local office should have escalated it after the first week. It was finally corrected, I believe more because of what I did than what they did. So more than once I was frustrated by slow weak action.

Elona Duell, the agent/broker, answered the phone and the conversation started out nicely. I told her about our business and explained that I was trying to get a quote on cargo insurance and in less than 3 minutes she told me that we should get cargo insurance with our current insurance company, because it would be more expensive to do it separately. Since I already knew that getting insurance with our current company was an option,, I explained again that I was looking for a couple of quotes from different companies, just to weigh our options, so if she could give me a quote that would be great. She then proceeded to talk to me in "insurance" lingo and said it wouldn't make sense to get cargo insurance separately from our current insurance carrier. After asking her a third time for a quote she said, with attitude, "probably $1800 to $2500 annually, with 30% down or something like that." If you want someone to give you information without a condescending attitude and trying to count your money, then I would suggest that you NOT call Elona at Insurance Direct!!
