She is the sweetest doctor in the world and it's always a pleasure seeing her even when I'm feeling down in the dumps. Her son is also very welcoming and the few years he's treated me has been a godsend. The staff has always been welcoming to me every single visit I've had and they always take care of me whenever I'm waiting it's always open communication. They are kind, caring and super helpful whenever I call or am at a visit. I even started bringing my kids to this clinic, because of the amazing energy, environment and atmosphere provided. I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. If you are, the manager resolved my issues when they were escalated, she was kind and made sure everything was okay.

When we, as patients are there, we are in pain, at a new environment, and vulnerable. He never communicated anything to me, what was happening, what would be happening... The Cat scan room (I didn't know I was having one, only heard X ray from prior staff) was absolutely freezing! I could not stop shivering and laid down on the cold table. I told him I had a bad back and asked for a pillow under my knees. He reluctantly walked over to get one. Then as I expressed I was shivering, he tells me to control it, that it would ruin the procedure. HOW DO YOU CONTROL your Shivering? Finally after awhile, he walked over and gave me a cover, not a blanket. It was better than nothing. I tried to relax on my own but it was difficult. I was wearing a Tshirt and long pants. After he disappeared, I had NO communication what , when, was happening or going to happen. The machine just made different noises and now and then it would move me. Only because I just had an MRI, I figured it would be awhile but had no way to communicated that I knew of or was told to me. Toward the end of what seemed forever, a different man came and said he was replacing the first one. I heard him later say something to the nurse about taking over and I assumed the first man was at the end of his shift when he got me? THANK GOD he hopefully went home! The second, replacement, communicated, was professional, and kind. That was all I asked, communication at a place I never had been to, a procedure I was not familiar with... do not think that is much to ask. Long story short, I would return but would refuse service from the first man if I ever saw him again.

If zero was an option, he'd get it…read more I was a Medicaid patient as a kid and I've used military doctors as an adult, which have always been lacking in quality, but they were outstanding compared to the visit I had here. This doctor was condescending, didn't spend more than two minutes with me, and provided notes in my chart of things we did not discuss. He didn't ask ANY questions and treated me as if I was a drug seeking patient because I reported that I took medication for ADHD. Before even seeing me but after seeing that in the nurse's notes, he sent the nurse in to "inform me" that he would not fill my prescriptions. I told the nurse I didn't ask him to, I see a specialist for that medication, the only medication I was hoping to get was for my migraines. He said he'd let the doctor know, which to me felt like the only reason he was sent in to tell me that was in hopes that I would leave. After another ten minutes he came in the room, read off the blood pressure and other data the nurse provided, then listened to my breathing and said I needed to get blood work. He said he didn't have the form and left the room, and I expected he'd come back after getting the form to continue the appointment. No. He sent the nurse in with a form for labs, and when I asked her if he had requested the labs I told the nurse I needed (I've needed B-12 infusions in the past and am often anemic, so those are tests that my doctor usually adds to the normal labs), and she left to ask. She (not the doctor) came back to tell me they were added and to go schedule another appointment. They wanted me to return to their office, 30 minutes from my home in good traffic, for the labs because it was apparently too difficult to send the request directly to the lab, which has a location five minutes from my house. This doctor has an obvious stigma against mental health. He wrote in my notes, without discussing ANY of it with me, that I needed to reduce my ADHD medication because it was the most likely cause of my migraines and anxiety (since depression and anxiety were also shared with the nurse since I take an antidepressant). If he had bothered asking, I could have explained to him I've had menstrual migraines since elementary school, and didn't start ADHD medication until my 20s, so that's an incorrect assumption. I also don't understand why he had any business advising me to stop or reduce medication being prescribed by a specialist, especially since I'd been seeing that specialist for years. I would love to share my history of a suicide attempt and have him tell me it's a good idea to stop or reduce medication that has taken years to get right. Completely disgusting behavior and attitude from a "professional." I've included a picture of the notes he put in my chart. We never discussed a meal plan, and he never TOLD me ANYTHING about my medications, I got this information only from the portal.
