He's been "My Device Repair Guy" for atleast 5 years now, and he has earned a 5 star review from every trip I've made to see him.. I'm consistently breaking my ancient iPhones in various ways, and he's always able to accommodate me, his repairs are always of good quality, and he even did some work outside of his wheelhouse customizing my Steam Deck for me and did a good job with that too.. I believe his establishment also sells used phones, phone accessories, phone plans, and cyrpto too if your into that sorta thing. Screw going to the national chain for these services, Franks the man, he's nice, he's local, he's got your back. I brought my Apple Watch to be repaired, I thought that my watch needed a new battery and a new battery is over $100. When I brought it in, the owner immediately put the watch on the charger and he says, give it a few minutes. The watch actually started to charge on his charger and I actually didn't need a new battery, it just had drained completely and it needed some time to start charging again. I was very grateful and thanked the owner for being honest and not trying to just take my money. I would highly recommend University Wireless. read more

I didn't get anything repaired, but I will say the customer is amazing. He's honest, fair, and did go the extra mile to help. I needed my laptop screen replaced and instead of just saying he could to the job for a price, he told me what the part would cost alone and what my options would be. An honest hardworking merchant. I saw him agree to let a student have a cell phone despite the student's inability to pay, he agreed to accept payment later. Who does that?!? On a handshake? Solid guy. I had cracked the back of my iPhone and brought it in for repair. During the repair, there was a spot of pressure placed on the front screen that resulted in a colored spot on the edge. University Wireless fixed that too, free of charge. Ten stars for honesty and being prompt, I would definitely support this business again. read more

Initially, I had gone to the Apple Store (Arden, Sacramento) for a battery replacement for an older iPhone, but they declined the replacement due to a "stripped screw" (I never touched the external screws-why would I?). I called around Davis to see if anyone could replace the battery despite this. Frank said he'd take a look at what he could do... He got the job done, and managed my expectations. (Note: For this older iPhone, he used a non-OEM battery. He explained the phone's software won't display the non-OEM battery quality over time, but he showed me the replacement and guaranteed his work [if any problems in 90 days, to bring it back]). So far, so good. Apple didn't give me a choice (other than to buy another iPhone), so I was happy to have a local choice. (If you want OEM parts, call ahead and see what he can do for you). read more

University Wireless was a huge disappointment! The first time I came here was because my Apple Watch face was popping out and ended up needing a new battery. So I purchased the battery and the tools and brought it here so they just had to do the repair! They fixed it but apparently, they used the original adhesive and did not use new adhesive or glue to secure the face of the watch. A year later, I'm back because the face was popping out again! The battery was still good because the watch was still operating but the face was popping out. When I brought back here, Frank was was willing to fix it.... He put some glue on and after 5 minutes he told me it's ready. I informed frank that I took my watch here a year ago so why is the face popping out? He diagnosed it and let me know that they used the original adhesive and didn't replace it with new adhesive or glue. I asked him how much I owe him. He replied $10. I told him that I will pay with credit since I do not carry any cash. He said in that case, it would be $11. He did not say that $10 was without tax and did not say $11 was including tax. He simply said I owe him $10 and then changed it after I told him that I'm paying with credit. There was no sign stating that customers will be charged x amount if they pay with a credit card. He charged me $1 because I didn't have cash... First off, businesses should be not accepting cash due to covid19 but this spot needs to put a sign in the front saying they will charge $1 for credit card charges... I see this spot got a lot of good ratings which is cool but I just did not experience that here! read more

Frank is honestly the best person to go to if you ever need to get your phone fixed in Davis. I first went to University Wireless to get my phone's battery replaced, and I was in and out of the shop in about 20 minutes. I ended up going back later on for a separate audio IC repair issue, and Frank was also able to completely fix my phone within a few hours with a lifetime warranty. Aside from how efficient he is, Frank is also extremely fair with his prices. I got a quote from another repair shop in town, and they were charging nearly double the price of what Frank asked and asked for a few weeks to fix my phone's audio issue. Frank runs an honest business, and I genuinely appreciate that (especially as a college student with a student budget!). Good customer service University Wireless opened my iphone 8 to assess microphone damage and I ended up with more issues than I started. However, Frank reached out and offered to look at the phone again and was able to fix the original problem and the additional issues that were generated in the process. The microphone issue was resolved although we were told we may have some intermittent issues with the home button. Overall, Frank provided good customer service and took accountability for ensuring the phone was fixed. In the time this phone was down, I did have to purchase a new iphone so that part was a bit frustrating. At least now I have a functional back-up. read more

I couldn't believe how painless and affordable it was to replace the screen assembly for my iPhone 6s. I walked in without any appointments and was notified that it would take about 30 minutes because he was already working on another phone (probably takes less time if there are no other phones in the queue), and how much it would cost. Literally walked a block over to my coffee place, got a bit of email catching-up done and I walked back over to pick my phone up. Super friendly, honest, and affordable. What more can you ask for? I've had to use phone repair shops way more than I'd like to admit. Ever since I went to University Wireless for the first time, it's my go-to! I can't say anything yet about their wireless services and other products, but the repair services are stellar! The first time I went was because my phone screen was broken (as in unusable). It took about 30 minutes to get a replacement installed, and I was really happy with the price. Today I went in because my phone screen was popping out of the body of the phone, and my phone kept turning off whenever I used it without a charger. It turned out the battery was shot. 30 minutes later, I had a new battery and the screen was reattached. They even added some screen protectors to the back of my phone where it's broken and the internals are visible. Again, I was very pleased with the cost. I will always recommend this place! read more

I found this shop when looking for an affordable iPhone Craigslist. The owner was very easy to deal with, stayed late at his shop so I could meet and test a phone there. His prices are slightly lower than the average on Craigslist even though he's a business and offered a 30 day guarantee. While he advertised as "for sale by owner" it's actually a business, meh. He let me do some time consuming testing of the phone, gave me WiFi access and let me call him with a couple different SIM cards to make sure it was unlocked.
