That was a pleasant surprise. I have a warranty through CarMax and Franky's was listed as an authorized mechanic service through RepairPal. Dropping the vehicle off was easy, the communication was great, they always called with updates or picked up the phone if I called them. The repairs were great, no complaints. My gripe is that they had the vehicle 10 days because they originally ordered the wrong parts, the gentleman on the phone made a comment that they weren't aware that my SUV had an advance technology package. They should have known this by the VIN, all I had to do was Google my VIN and the first result told me the specs of my specific vehicle. Having to wait an extra week was annoying, but I can't even say for sure the MaxCare warranty dept didn't make the mistake, so I'll forgive it. Aside from that, everything else went smoothly and I didn't feel like I was being mislead or taken advantage of.

They assured me that it would be an OEM part. The HPFP failed two and half years later and when the part was removed it was far from OEM, it was a cheap Vemo HPFP. I see this no different than stealing by promising and charging for OEM but using cheaper parts. I guess they assumed I would get rid of the car prior to finding out.

He did the 1st repair in a timely manner…read moreand gave me a warranty sheet to send into the company, Cateran and the warranty was supposed to replace the part if it went out before 5 years. The part actually went out before 12 months, and then he alluded that the warranty wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. If I wanted the part company, Cateran, to honor their warranty I would have to leave my car with him for at least 10+ days so that Cateran could get a warranty rep to come out. Needless to say there was no way I could leave my car for 10 days, so I had him replace the catalytic converter again and pay again. In the interim before the 1st repair went bad, I had him replace the 2nd catalytic converter. He used the same parts company, Cateran, and gave me a copy of the warranty to send into Cateran, which I did again. Now that the 2nd CC has gone out before 12months, Mike will not take my calls. Additionally, I have reached out to Cateran regarding their warranty (email response only, no phone#) they have not responded as well. Buyer Beware!!

I had an aftermarket exhaust that another shop installed for me that caused drivability issues…read moreabout 3 years. The issues started showing up after I had the exhaust installed but I wasn't sure if it was actually caused by the exhaust. The issue was the exhaust vibrating during wet rainy days when cruising on the highway severely where it bashes against the chassis causing the car rear end to fishtail where I have to slow down and focus to keep it in the lane on the highway. My personal mechanic helped me confirm what the issue was and showed me on a lift that my exhaust was merely millimeters away from my drive shaft. She showed me the exhaust was mounted kind of crooked and an exhaust specialist can help me correct the fitment. I was disappointed with the previous exhaust shop I had the exhaust installed at so decided to try a different establishment and found my way to Haddad Discount Muffler which wasn't far from the previous exhaust shop I initially got my exhaust installed at. My biggest problem with the other exhaust shop is that the owner just lets his junior do everything practically unsupervised which lead me to the situation I was trying to resolve. The owner of Haddad Discount Muffler took more of an active role. After I described what was happening with my exhaust and showed him where the exhaust was rubbing, he told me what he can do to resolve it. I ask him about the price quote because he doesn't except credit so I will have to used debit, I had to make sure the job was within my means to pay. He quoted me between $100 and $200 which was a safe range for me. I then told him the exhaust tips was crooked, and I can never get them to be symmetrical. He said he can adjust them and spot weld them, so they stay in place. I then finally told him I got new tips in the back of the car and that is when he said, this may affect the price as he has to see how well they fit. Now he got his junior over to work on my exhaust. I was worried as I can never seem to get the people with the most experience to do the work, but the owner took an active role. He told his junior where to cut, where to weld, he shifted everything into place and lined up and measured everything meticulously and kept asking me if I'm happy with where everything was sitting. I was happy to see him measure the distance the exhaust tips sit from each other and how far the sit from the side and top of the bumper. The replacement exhaust tips I have given him to install were much shorter than old cheap tips they replaced. Mike was skeptical that they would fit but I told him they don't need to protrude if they hug the bumper neatly, I would be happy with it. When he was done, the quad exhaust tips were sitting tight and symmetrical within the bumper, vastly improved over the way the previous tips fit. He had his junior spot weld them in place, so they don't shift but allows for easy removal if taken to exhaust specialists. The price ended up being well under $200 and I was very happy with the job.

Julius and Justin had stepped in to rescue a build on my 1967 F100 that a previous shop had majorly dropped the ball on -- a project that had already cost me over six figures. They were thorough, honest, and went above and beyond. Over the years I referred significant business to them because of that experience. When I acquired my 1968 F100 and was ready for a new build there was no question where it was going. I trusted them with it because they had earned that trust. This update is not written out of frustration. It is written because other customers deserve an accurate account of what happened, and because I exhausted every private option before going public. I brought my 1968 F100 to Atlanta Speed Shop in early 2026 for a significant engine and drivetrain build. I sourced the crate engine and select components directly. The shop handled the transmission rebuild through their own vendor, all remaining parts, and all labor -- totaling just over $10,000 on their invoice. My total investment in this project was well in excess of $20,000. Within the first day of having the truck back I noticed a loud screeching noise on right turns, a throttle that stuck twice, driveshaft scraping, a whining rear end, and oil spots. I reported everything to Justin in writing immediately. The truck went back for its first warranty visit. It came back still unresolved. Following that return the AC stopped working and a shop mechanic was dispatched to my home to fix it -- a basic item that should have been caught before the truck ever left. Julius had signed off on it. The truck continued to have issues. A significant driveline vibration then appeared under hard acceleration that had never existed before this project. The shop requested a ride along with Julius -- the same owner who had signed off on the vehicle multiple times already. The truck went back for a second warranty visit where Julius confirmed the muffler was contacting the driveshaft -- a direct result of their exhaust work. This was consistent with what Justin had already acknowledged in his own words in a text message. The vibration was resolved but the exhaust remains unfinished. A cracked frame rail near a critical suspension component was also disclosed to me for the first time at this visit -- despite the truck having been in their shop multiple times with Julius signing off each time. Today's warranty tow cost me $503 out of pocket -- an expense that should never have been mine on a warranty visit. When the final invoice arrived a 3% credit card fee appeared that had never been disclosed or applied to either of my two prior payments on this same project. Justin acknowledged it and waived it in writing -- because he knew it had not been disclosed. The invoice was never signed by me and the terms were never agreed to. If a response to this review claims these issues were pre-existing I would ask the reader to consider -- if that were true, why were they never disclosed across multiple visits and multiple sign-offs by Julius? Justin acknowledged the exhaust running the driveshaft in his own words after the truck had already been delivered as complete. These are not my characterizations. They are documented in the shop's own communications. The technical capability here is real and my 2022 experience was genuinely excellent. But capability means nothing if the work is not checked before it leaves the shop, warranty issues are disputed rather than resolved, and a loyal customer who invested well in excess of $20,000 and referred significant business to you is treated the way I was treated when things went wrong. I have documentation for every word of this. Future customers deserve to know.
