They have a special machine when you pull in to let you know you need an alignment. I bet this machine paid for itself the first day they had it. Every time I come in for a service, they show how I need an alignment. Last week I just got tires at Carland's service center in Roswell, plus an alignment. One week later, the service center on State Bridge tells me I need an alignment. Here is a surprise, when I came back to pick up my car, they informed me they charge 3% for using a credit card. This is the review you should be reading. Before I go any further, I must tell you that I once worked for Honda Carland and the Service Center specifically. I am a Honda Master Technician, and have been for 27 years. I know all of the typical auto service industry tactics, and what poor quality is when it comes to having your vehicle repaired. That being said, once I decided to take my career path toward the corporate world, you would think that I would not go back to Honda Carland or its Service Center, and you'd be wrong. Again, I know what quality is when it comes to having your Honda and Acura repaired, because of my experience. Yes, I do my own oil changes, but I still need to visit the dealer for my company car, where I could choose ANY Honda dealer in the Atlanta area. Knowing what I know, I willingly choose to have my car(s) serviced by the Service Center because I trust the technicians working there having worked with them in the past. No, I don't get preferential treatment. No, I don't get discounts. No, I wasn't asked to post this. I am not a shill for Honda Carland, and never will be. I get the feeling that the bad reviews here are people who take their cars to Pep Boys and expect dealership quality. I for one keep coming back, even when I have the experience and resources to do things myself. read more

This is the second time I have gone to this dealership and left without service because of the poor attitude of the Service Advisor. Today I arrived at 1:10 for my 1:15 appointment. I just needed an oil change. After checking in Michael (The SA) advised me that it would be around 2 hours. Asked him if having an appointment had any effect on wait time and he told me that all service is first-come-first-served and that Carland does not give appointments for Oil Changes. I explained that I did HAVE an appointment. He argued that there were no appointments. After some back and forth he said what I had was, an appointment to see a Service Advisor, not for the service. I was really not that upset about the wait, but I do make an effort to be on time for my appointments. If the appointment is meaningless, just tell me and I will show up when it is convenient for ME. Carland also is charging an extra 3% for using a debit or credit card. To me this is just another junk fee. It is part of the cost of doing business. If the business is running that tight that they have to invent extra charges, they are probably not going to be around too long. Left and went to a more friendly dealership and was in and out in 45 minutes. UPDATE: After doing some research it appears that it is OK in Georgia for a merchant to charge a surcharge on a credit card for the actual amount of the fee that the card processor charges the merchant (up to a maximum of 3%). Based on what I have read, a merchant CANNOT charge a "surcharge" for Debit Card transactions. Under specific circumstances it appears that they could charge a "convenience fee" for a Debit Card but this must be a flat fee (Example $2). It cannot be a percentage. So if you paid Honda Carland a surcharge to pay with your Debit Card, you might be due a refund. read more

Inspite of getting our 2015 Honda CR-V serviced at this center for past 4 yrs, faced Transmission fluid leakage, Transmission issue with no accident occurance. Surprisingly no indication on dashboard too for this major issue. Initial diagnosis at this center was Transmission switch/sensor replacement and after this replacement along with fluid refill, issue is not resolved and next diagnosed as Transmission blow out issue with just 72K miles on odometer.Cost estimate is $6000. Alternate diagnosis done for a second opinion by a certified mechanic indicates the root cause of the issue is wrong transmission fluid used at Carland for the CVT transmission in 2015 Honda CR-V.This wrong fluid further damaged the rear differential which would cost us another lumpsome amount out of pocket! Worst experience ever at Carland Service center! Would recommend to never use their car services!! read more

Timely and great service, technician explained all repairs and vehicle was delivered as promised

This is my first time with Carland service (state bridge location). My Honda CRV 2011 had a recall. Honda Carland service is the closest to me. I called them and setup the appointment. It was very easy to make an appointment and they offered me complimentary ride back to home when I bring my vehicle to the service. I took my vehilce and Eli (Service manager) asked me to leave the vehicle and informmed me that I may need to leave my vehicle for overnight to complete the service. I got an complimentary ride back (Uber ride) back home and next day to the Carland. The recall was completed and alos they recommend some other mainteances as well which is too costly and in my opinion that is not required. Usually all car deleare service stations do this so this is not something new to me. I would say I had great experience with this service and of course Honda pays for the recall service so there was no charge to me. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! THEY ARE CROOKS! I have a 2016 Honda CRV. I've never had an issue with it. I took it here to have an air filter changed. The car stopped working a day later and wouldn't start. I was able to find a solution online (anti theft light had come on and if you lock the car, walk away for 15 minutes and then hold the panic button it will reset the lock). Since then, the car has struggled to start. I've driven it about 1600 miles in the past week (I took a trip to see family). When I called Honda, the service manager Alex said it sounds like our mechanic inserted the filter wrong and to bring it by for them to look at. I took it to them to look at and Alex said it was the battery. He tried to sell me a new battery. Their service center looked at the battery three weeks ago and said the battery was perfectly fine. The car is two years old. The car starts and has started 25 times since then. Clearly they messed with the car since two days and 10 miles driven after they looked at it, the car breaks. I called and filed a complaint with Honda HQ and they agreed it doesn't sound like a battery issue. I'll never go back here. read more

One of the worst services I have encountered. TPMS alarm comes on after the service and I gave it to another tire shop guy and he says it was just not reset properly. I paid for an oil change and the meter still shows it's at 50%. The service center manager Alex calls up to apologise and says the customer not the service center likes the TPMS system. I purchased a new car at the dealership July, 2018. The car is great, the buying experience was fine. Although they advertised you could view cars and buy on line, that was not the case. They just wanted you to come into the showroom for half a day. But that was okay. My husband wanted to buy the service contract for an additional cost, so I did. At this point, I have had two experiences with the service department for oil changes. Both have not been acceptable. Although I made appointments each time, that was a waste of my efforts. The first time, they told me it would take an hour and a half, but it only took about 40 minutes. OK, the second time, with an appointment, it took one and one half hours. I could have stopped at any oil change business and got it done in twenty minutes, and gotten a car wash also. After I made a scene in the service center about the hour and a half wait, the service manager told me "there were cars ahead of me", I guess they had better appointment than I did. They gave me my keys, and attitude and did not charge me. Thank you so much. I have contacted the Customer Service for Carland to cancel the service contract and to get a refund, that was a week ago, still waiting. They must be very busy. I've come to this place in the past (I bought an Accord from them) and they were okay. A LONG time ago. Fast forward six or so years. I won't be going back to them again. I made an appointment yesterday after calling around to two other Honda dealerships (including one close to my house)... I made an appointment for today (or so I thought)... dropped my car off this morning at the scheduled time and now almost three hours later (I was told yesterday it would take TWO hours)... I find out that not only was I not scheduled, but they have NO idea why I brought my car in (which makes sense now that I know I wasn't in the system). Keep in mind that I TOLD the service advisor that I had an appointment for 10am, today. He looked me up and didn't bother noticing that I wasn't in the system. I ALSO told him WHY I was bringing my car in... Again, he could have notated that and oh I DON'T KNOW, tell me I wasn't scheduled. So after waiting almost THREE hours, I call them only to be put on hold then told someone will call me back shortly. I wait twenty minutes and call back. Again, placed on hold. Then I get blasted in my ear with redial/transfer dial tones. Twice. I speak to who I can only assume is the service manager and have to ask questions to find out that I wasn't scheduled and they didn't know what was going on with my car. How about some integrity? Just own up to your mistake and fix it. Don't play twenty questions with me in an accusatory tone, as if I am mistaken about my ability to make an appointment. That is your employee's shortcoming, not mine. So when I tell her I want to come and take my car elsewhere (I was dropped off at a coffee shop this morning), she tells me that she doesn't want me to do that and to give her another hour. I don't CARE if they don't charge me for this... time is money and I had better things to do with four, five hours of my day. Now I worry it will be a rush job and I will be driving my car out of town tomorrow evening. SO, I won't be going back to this service center. I suggest you avoid it as well unless you enjoy headaches and wasting your time. Lesson learned. Just sit in the small, crappy waiting area close to home and get it done right. Don't drive farther to save yourself some agony... resulting in even more agony. read more

I hate going to car service centers. I think they're worse than going to the dentist or the doctor's, but I guess that depends on how much you love your doctor. My latest trip to this Honda Service Center was ok. I had received some recall notices for my Accord so I wanted to make sure these items were fixed promptly. FYI, this isn't a full-service service center so some repairs may still need to be done at a dealership. This location primarily handles oil changes. When I pulled into the service bay, I wasn't greeted. I stood around not knowing what to do for like 5 minutes. Eventually a service advisor came out, greeted me and helped. I got the impression that nothing would be done for me since I was there for recall notices for issues that weren't exactly broken. Before I left, they told me two things I needed replaced: inserts (wiper blade inserts) and a cabin filter. I politely declined because 1) the wiper blades were replaced no more than 4 months ago, and 2) I'll gladly have our family mechanic friend take care of anything else. Again, I'm only here because of recall fixes which are Honda's responsibility. My word of advice: be knowledgeable about your car's service history. If I had let my dad bring my car in for service, he would have said yes to those blades/filter and spent $100 total on things that either don't need to be replaced or can be replaced elsewhere for a better price. Otherwise, if you're there for a while, their wifi works pretty well and they do offer rides if you need one. Will I be returning? I'm not a huge fan, but it's better than Curry Honda and maybe a slight notch better than their sister location Honda Carland in Roswell. read more

I brought my car in for service this past Friday morning. I was greeted by a young black man who had a smile and seemed eager to help. We discussed my concerns, filled out paperwork, and he offered, and I accepted, a loaner car as they needed my car for a few days. Before I left, I asked him who they recommended as a third party to replace a windshield. He responded, but under his breath I heard him end his sentence with the word "BOSS". This has been bothering me so I did a little research. It turns out that this is a bit of a sneaky way some blacks condescend to whites. One black man described the use of the word "BOSS" Boss: "This is a disingenuous form of address. It pretends to be deferential when, in fact, it masks disrespect. It is a term in the workplace, where underlings take orders from the person with the top job. It does not belong in relationship between the paying customer and the service employee". I returned an hour later with my second fob for them to test as one of my concerns. This young man was supposed to secure some information for me and when I asked for an update he responded "I've been working with my other customers" and his tone was a bit testy. I let it go thinking he was under a bit of pressure. Toward the end of the day, I called him to bring him in the loop on what I found out about my windshield replacement from my insurance company. He got testy with me AGAIN! I took the high road as I wasn't about to get into a shouting match over the telephone. This young man's customer service needs some serious attention and I plan to have a face to face discussion in private with his supervisor when I collect me car early next week. In the meantime and with the current atmosphere, at least from the employee mentioned above, I cannot recommend this place for any business. read more

My experience was just okay. I brought in my car at 2PM appointment for an oil change and I wanted them to check out my battery cable since I was having power issues. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so they offered to run tests for $125 - no courtesy loaner vehicles. The staff was friendly. Wi-Fi didn't work which was really disappointing. My car (Honday Odessey, 2008, 144k miles) failed emission test and I took it for fixing to Carland Service Center. Service Agent after their analysis told me the problem and since overall cost quote was 900$ I decided to go for fix. After service was done on the car I took my car out of dealership lot and just after driving less than 5miles engine light came back Again. After reporting that issue, I was told to bring the car back for checkup and after checkup they told me car now has new issue and will need another fix that will cost me $3600. When I called Manager to discuss this issue to inform him that their initial analysis was not thorough and they should have done proper analysis upfront with all the potential problems to fix engine light issue, which would have made me take different decision to not go ahead with the fix but just trade in my old car and buy new car. I felt like I lost 900$ for no reason. Manager was completely ignoring the fact that service center did not do proper analysis and kept telling me that, its unfortunate situation which happened to me and he can't do anything about it. I am loyal honda customer and had 3 honda cars so far (Accord, Civic and Odessey) but due to this incident and the way this dealership treated my case. I have decided not to buy any cars from this dealers and also going to spread the word in my community circle about how I was treated by dealer in this situation. I am really dissatisfied with the service from this dealer for not fixing my car issue reported after car emission test. I had to borrow car from my friend for 3 weeks till I leased another GM car. Originally my plan was that if car fix is going to cost me more than 2000$ I was going to buy new honda car and trade my old car. But they lost my business as well. Had to wait 2 hours for an oil change and they wouldn't even clear a low oil pressure check engine light which every other mechanic does. Wanted me to pay $130 for an engine diagnosis. Also quoted $1400 for a timing belt which other honda dealer quoted $800. Maybe use them for a cheap oil change if you can wait hours, otherwise stay away! read more

When you need to get your car serviced beyond the basic oil change or tire rotation, it's usually in your best interest to take it to the dealership. While it might not be in the best interest of your wallet, you at least have peace of mind in knowing that peope who are experts in your car are diagnosing problems and repairing them. I took our Pilot to this location for the 100K scheduled maintenance. While there, I had them check for 3 other things that I was concerned about. They hooked me up with a free rental car and told me they'd call me back later in the day with their findings. Unfortunately, they found a several things they recommended that I should either replace or fix, and the cost was well over $2500. I don't know about you, but that's a lot of money to me...especially for something that seems to be working fine already. I think my service manager could sense my sticker shock, so he began proposing ways we could get the cost to come down. There were coupons I could download, efficiencies in labor we could take advantage of and some items that weren't necessarily urgent at this point. Working together with him, we were able to get the costs down several hundred dollars. It still ended up costing me a small fortune, but the savings took some of the sting out of it. At every step of the process, each person I met at Honda Carland was courteous, friendly and professional. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to fix a vehicle at the dealership! read more

We took our car here to get the faulty airbag replaced per the recall. Terrence said we needed to replace the CV axle boot at a cost of $330, and about double that if they replaced the axle too. We chose to have the work done elsewhere as we thought that was high and were suspect of the diagnosis. Another shop said they would replace the boot AND axle for about $300. But when they examined the car they just shook their heads and said there was nothing wrong with this boot or axle, and places like Honda Carland Service Center are what give other mechanics a bad name. We will never go back to HCSC, and our NON-Honda auto shop has gained a loyal customer. read more
