I did a drop in visit at this gym and participated in a jiujitsu class and boy was I impressed. The set up was neat, and the vibe was very welcoming. They offer numerous styles of marital arts. The open street view was great as well. The professor was knowledgeable and super friendly. I highly recommend checking this gym out.

All the coaches are knowledgeable, talented, and respectful - but I need to shout out a few wonderful humans in particular (the ones I've taken the most consistent classes with). Hannah - kettlebell MASTER. Makes classes fun, functional, approachable, and just the right amount of hard. I've seen my upper body strength improve greatly and learned a ton of cool moves with kettlebells I wouldn't ever have expected. Xtina - remarkably kind and encouraging. Creates a fun and challenging HIIT class that's never boring and is always a full body workout (plus fun playlists). Plus, the coaches for all athletic/strength training coordinate classes to rotate the focus each month so 1. You can see progress and 2. You have something new to look forward to each month. Bri - creates such a warm atmosphere with a focus on wellness and athleticism in creative ways. Has an eye for detail that makes the most basic of moves more challenging in the best way possible. Nhi - a Muay Thai powerhouse who coaches both coed and women/nonbinary classes. I appreciate Nhi's encouraging approach and ability to point out small improvements in technique that make a big difference. This gym and its people are awesome, and if you needed more reason: some of the coaches and more longtime members bring their pups to the gym. So yeah, it's great.

Every class is different. No two are really the same. Even when I would attend two on the same day, what would be worked on would vary. I got to meet some really great people during my time there. You bond over your time on the mats together and there is a connection that is felt between all (at least that is my take on it). Even though it went unstated; it was there. Even between those whom I hadn't really interacted much with. . . The common thread of Sitan gym had woven us all together. Aziz has to have some of the best energy I've encountered. He is always quick to smile and slow to frown. He would bring his daughters in often (and his wife trains in the classes as well). This really made for a beautiful feeling of family that spread outwards. I learned so much when I was there. Got to train with those who had never thrown a punch before - all the way up to true fighters. All the while watching my own abilities increase exponentially. . . When I started there I was in the former group, with little martial arts experience before. By the time I was about to move from the area I had quite a few others ask me if I was thinking of fighting myself.

I was told a black shirt but when I arrived, the front desk guy told me that it had to be a plain black shirt (which I do not have) or I would have to rent one of their shirts (which isn't plain either.) They just want to make money while using the excuse that it is for team unity. Utter bullshit. The women's locker room was closed off since the front desk guy was mopping it. So I changed in the men's bathroom which ceilings were torn. The coach arrived 10 minutes late to the class and said bc the day was busy. He proceeded to talk to other customers while the front desk guy led the class, which was only two people, through stretches. I can stretch and touch my toes at home. Because of my shirt, I couldn't continue with the class. I will never return to this place.

Pros: -Small classes give you individualized attention -Teacher is friendly and personable Cons: -During the weeknights (not sure about weekends) there is no bag work (heavy bags, speed bags, etc) that you would get at other boxing gyms -Teacher occasionally gets distracted by his cell phone and starts messaging when focus should be on class -Because of small size of classes, it can be really hard to reserve a spot Try it out!!
