At the risk of sounding to the Yelp community like a bit of a broken record, I'll continue to heap praise on Unlockit. I had them come out to rekey my home after I recently purchased the property. They were great and flexible with appointment times, and certainly not the 2 or 4 hour windows of other service providers. They gave me an estimate over the phone, which I appreciated. About 45 minutes before the technician was due to arrive, they gave me a call to confirm the appointment and to be sure that my schedule was still free. I got home, and about 20 minutes later (about 50 minutes after the call) got a knock on the door. I showed the tech the doors which required rekeying, and he set to work. About 20 minutes later, he provided me with a set of new keys to the home, and had everything installed and tested. Additionally, the technician noticed a sticking lock and was able to make a quick adjustment (gratis) to make it operate more smoothly. Then the best part: The bill was presented, and came in under the original estimate. I can't remember the last time I had a contractor come in on time, under budget, and take care of any extras without surplus charges. After successfully locking myself out of the house, I called Unlockit. After being quoted 1hr I told them I was going to see if I could find someone quicker. I should have waited for Unlockit.....Another locksmith arrived, looked at my lock, told me there was nothing he could do, and left. I had a padlock that malfunctioned on me and would not open, so called around to get a few quotes from several locksmiths to see what it would cost to get my lock open/cut off..etc....and the quotes ranged from $ 75 from Unlockit, to $ 150 at another company, and another company refused to even give me a quote! So decided to go with Unlockit. The technician came right on time, was very professional and friendly. He started to go to work on my lock...he finally got the thing off after about 45 minutes. Utterly refreshing experience with Unlockit. It's so nice in this day and age to be able to drop a lock by an actual customer facing office as opposed to having to call someone to your house for a simple problem. I had a small part (spring retaining ring) break on my entry door lock. I brought the unit into Unlockit who quickly diagnosed the problem, searched for a replacement part, and then when one could not be found offered me an inexpensive replacement unit that looked very similar. Not only did they get it unlocked, they diagnosed the issue with my door, ordered parts, and installed a new part for the lock and gorgeous new door handles. Let me preface that this review is based on my recent experience with Unlockit on 12/03/16. If you look at my history, I give honest reviews based on real experiences and have made Yelp Elite this year. I hope this helps you to feel comfortable that my review is honest and real. Here's the story...My family and I just recently purchased a new home and first on the priority list was to get all my locks re-keyed. We have 7 different doors into the house with so many different keys so I was already thinking how much of a hassle this was going to be. Enter Hadi from Unlockit and within minutes I felt a sigh of relief. The guy is awesome! First and foremost, their communication before their arrival was great. They confirmed and then called day of to let me know they were arriving in the next 10 minutes. As I mentioned earlier, I felt relieved after walking Hadi through my house to show him what needed to be done. He could literally tell the brand of handles and locks I had throughout the house before we got a few feet from the lock. Then when we looked closely, he was exactly right every time. In addition to the locks being re-keyed, I also had a Schlage connect installed. This was the first thing he worked on. What was great is that he showed me every step of the way what he was doing and offered experienced information on the lock itself. Showed me how to use it and maximize it's benefits. Made me feel better about my purchase. And I'll note, I purchased the lock elsewhere. They do offer it for purchase as well but had some gift cards so I went that route. I'll also say, they were not pushy about selling, just mentioned it in a matter of fact way. Hadi was able to re-key all my lock (deadbolt and handles) all to one key! The bag of keys we received from the previous owner, are now all in a drawer tucked away. Had suggested keeping them just in case we find something with a lock after getting more settled in. Little things like this is what makes them great. The icing on the cake was that he brought attention to a lock I didn't even notice. It was the door to the main HVAC area of our house. A lot of things going on in there as potential hazards. The handle had tape on the inside on the lock so I never thought anything of it. He suggested keeping it locked for my kids safety. It was discovered a key had been broken off in the original lock but he was still able to fix and re-key it. One thing he did show me with the previous locks was the not many pins were used to key the locks so basically every other key could have possibly opened the door. Hadi assured me this wouldn't be the case with our locks and visually showed me the difference when he re-keyed them. In all my reviews of companies here on Yelp, I can honestly say I have never been more satisfied with using a company's service than I am with Unlockit. The overall experience, competitive pricing and expertise has got to be second to none. If you're looking for a trust worthy and knowledgeable locksmith team, look no further.
