If you can brave the spiral staircase and make it to the roof, you have wonderful views of the area, including the town. Kendal, our waitress, was truly wonderful; it felt like hanging out with an old friend.

We had our wedding there so these are my sentiments on that. From start to finish, the team went truly above and beyond. Mariana, our day-of planner, was exceptional-- calm & proactive. She anticipated needs before they arose and ensured the entire day flowed seamlessly. Ernesto, the property manager, was equally incredible. He guided us through the wine selections with care and expertise and was hands-on throughout the reception--circulating among guests, refilling glasses, and making sure everyone felt taken care of (perhaps a little too well, in the best way). The execution of the wedding was flawless. Everything we envisioned and described was brought to life exactly as we had hoped--if not better. Dinner was a dream: a long, elegant table set beneath the passion fruit vines, surrounded by the sounds and scents of the farm and garden. The reception under the stars felt intimate and enchanting. Mariana recommended soft lighting along the path to the restrooms so guests could move safely and comfortably--a small detail that speaks volumes about the level of care. She even set them up for us as we brought some beautiful Luminary bags from the states - guests loved this touch. Our guests could not stop praising the venue's natural beauty. The smells of the garden, the warmth of the farm, and the effortless elegance of the setting made the evening unforgettable. Dancing all night in the banana grove is a memory we will carry with us forever. The vibe was natural and authentic, unlike some other venues that seem commercial - so this fit us perfectly. We are endlessly grateful to the Tamarindos team for creating such a meaningful, stunning, and joy-filled experience. This venue is truly special, and we cannot thank them enough.

We've eaten here a couple times over more than a year and the food is delicious. My reviews are based on different aspects one may experience while dining in order to more easily be objective on my reviews. Each segment is separately reviewed below and then an average score is derived. Location: 4 Stars Pretty good location within walking distance of downtown SJD. It's a small restaurant with just a couple of tables, but I believe that do quite a bit of takeout. We've never had an issue finding a seat. Menu(attached): 4 Stars * Salads * Hot Dogs * Burgers * French Fries * Sweet Potato Fries Great menu with several options for hot dogs and a couple burgers. They also have some interesting beverages such as flavored oatmeal water and such. The only downside is no alcohol, but I've not lowered the rating because of this. Quality of Food: 5 Stars The food quality is awesome. All house made (I believe) and fresh. The dogs are especially delicious and are my favorite things on the menu, but all of the food is great. Value: 5 Stars Great value for what you get. Portions are good size and as mention with the quality, the food is great. Service: 5 Stars Perfect friendly, prompt service. They remembered us from the previous year, which is really nice. No issues at all. Total Score: 4.6 stars rounded up to 5.

We were so excited to see these guys at the Saturday organic market and to hear they have a cafe in town. At the market we had just the daily water (watermelon ginger--yum!) and intended to visit the cafe to check out the full food menu. At the cafe it was hard to choose given many options, but I went for the Fila dog made from lentils. Other dogos included chickpea, soy or tofu. My partner had the Bulldog black bean burger on their newer menu. Both came with freshly cooked non-greasy fries, and we also shared a half order of the teriyaki cauliflower "wings". The dog was flavorful, wasn't mushy and the half cherry tomatoes on top gave it a nice freshness. It was a smaller dog, and my dad helped me eat my fries, so I wasn't too full (the burger was larger for a bigger appetite). We each had the canela (cinnamon) tea--nice flavor, not too sweet and refreshing. My dad (not vegetarian) had already eaten but said he will definitely come back another time on his own. The owners were so friendly and gave suggestions when we asked for help choosing. We only come to SJdC once a year but I am already looking forward to a return visit to Beach Dog!

I stumbled across this place on my month long Cabo vacation and by far this was my favorite 'hole in the wall'. The place is run by a young Mexican chef Cynthia and her food is magic! She weaves modern presentations with 'grandmas recipes' to create beautiful food! The first time I visited there was just one other patron there at the time and I sat down at the 'family-style' table they had near him. I was fixated on the dishes he was eating... let's just say he was happy-happy Cynthia's boyfriend (Carlos I think) greeted me and we began to chat; he was a DJ and seafood chef that had recently decided to move back to Cabo and help Cynthia make her magic. We chatted a bit about Cabo, the local restaurant scene, tourist scene, urban tourism, and music... basically, I felt as if I was visiting a friend at his restaurant getting the low-down of the area. After a while, it was time to eat and I asked Carlos to pick a few things for me.... I wasn't disappointed!!! (By this time ts was just Cynthia and Carlos and I) First, there was the 7 hande made hot sauces .... the ones with the nuts are to die for... Cynthia explained that most of the sauces were from the part of Mexic she grew up in, but that a few of the others where with peppers from where Carlos grew up. Then Cynthia began to bring me several small dishes (that I hadn't even ordered...) each one was more amazing than the next (see photos) I guess I bugged Cynthia so much that when I got up to leave she brought me a few little to-go containers with some of the dried peppers she used to make here salsa's with instructions how to make them on my own... as well as a recommendation and direction to the local spice market for a bigger variety of spices. If you want to visit a unique, urban, foodie experience this is place is a must!!!

Menus are in Spanish with some English titles, but easily translated using the camera on Google Translate. So many items looked great. We were in need of a healthy meal after a long weekend. My husband went with the smoothie bowl, and it looked so good. So much fruit on top. I went with the hot cakes, which isn't a normal choice for me. I loved though that there were different healthy add in options, and that they were served with fruit. I am so glad I picked the hot cakes. They were huge! So fluffy and didn't feel like I was eating a sugar bomb. Loved all the fruit as too - we saw it getting delivered that morning. We had Americanos as well, which weren't quite as good as the coffee shop across the street, but piping hot and still tasty. It's not fast food, so make sure you allocate a little time. It was totally worth the wait though since everything is made fresh. Service was friendly, and we loved our sidewalk table under the tree. We will definitely be back if in La Paz again!
