I have been watching this comedy theatre troupe since nearly the beginning, since long before they had their own theater. Like any improv group occasionally they have an off night but overwhelmingly I have found them to be funny. One of my favorite things is that it's always different. Even if you went back 2 nights in a row it is completely different material because, well, it's Improv! Twice a month on Saturdays at 9 they have a set that is more adult-oriented. But frankly, I would go see them any Friday or Saturday the 7pm show or the adult show. And you can't really go wrong at $5/ person! read more

This was our third trip to Unscrewed for their Family Friendly Improv show and my face actually hurts from laughing. My 12 year old requested this for his birthday after having two other great experiences - and we all left committed to going back more often. It's affordable (honestly, I would pay more easily), enjoyable, unique and a fantastic way to spend time. For us, it's an added bonus that we can count on it being appropriate humor for our kids, but also something that includes them in a really fun way. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to do something different, support really cool people creating something genuinely enjoyable and laugh a lot all at the same time. read more

Unscrewed theater is very affordable fun. At $8 a ticket for adults for one show or $10 a ticket for two shows in a night. It is a very warm and welcoming environment. The shows are incredibly funny. It has audience participation but only if you want to. It is an improv show meaning everything is made up on the spot. Every time I go I am pleasantly surprised by the scenes they come up and what they say. I hosted a Meetup event there and they were very friendly and accommodating. They give back to the community. Every month they host a non-profit charity from the community and help collect money for them and allowing them to bring awareness to their missions and that they exists. They are always growing. Offering different types of shows depending on the date and time. Just an overall fun time. I highly recommend this place and comedy troupe. They are super awesome! read more

To use a phrase I've already used today: small and mighty! I had a grand time and I'm definitely going back. $7, $5 for a show with two acts and serious laughs and talent? Especially outside of student ticket pricing at a college? Musical Mayhem sang to me for two hours. This is a great deal. Now, I won't say the production value is insane, but I will say I saw sparkly silver pasties on a man who also donned a banana suit multiple times. What, that's not your measure of quality? I'm not sure it's 100% family friendly - some sexuality, of course, but also an F bomb. There's adults-only versions of the resident improv shows, so the earlier show of improv might be a better bet for younger kids. read more

It's so great to finally have an improv theater in Tucson! They have family-friendly shows and later uncensored ones. I took my husband and teenage daughter to the family friendly show and we had a blast. All three of us were laughing. My suggestion is you eat dinner next door at Fronimo's Greek before the show. read more

What a treasure! I love improv and used to do it in Denver before I moved back to Tucson so I have no idea how I missed this place. The performers are amazingly talented, the energy is high, the laughs are nonstop. So much fun. I was never at their former address, but this new theater is well designed, comfortable and good looking. What a fun night - this was very entertaining with talented performers! I enjoyed the first act where actors were given prompts from the audience (us) to create a new musical performing for one night (tonight) ha! It was the Night of the Markdown and everyone was so talented and creating songs on the spot - HOW do they do it!? The second act had five actors given different games to perform with prompts from the audience. The skits were hilarious and I was laughing out loud throughout both acts! I went here for the first time last night. It was a full hour-plus of fun comedic improv. As a Chicago transplant, this show felt very Second City back in the beginning which is a compliment. I am glad to have finally gone. It's great for families with kids (check before going - some nights are not family friendly), group parties and birthdays. They are moving to a new location at some point in the near future; they are adding new acts and I'm excited. I can't wait to see it grow! read more

This ace is improv comedy...it was OK for your 5 bucks ...it's volunteer so you get what you get....there were some funny bits it's family orientated so obviously it's p.c. ok for a quick last minute deals. I had been curious to check this theater and troupe out for a while, and finally got here when my nephew's high school improv troupe was invited to perform with them. Unscrewed Theater is a blast! The cost is only $5, so there is that to enjoy but also the content. The show is family friendly; however, there are a few late night available "adult content" shows available. I have yet to visit an "adult content" show but I look forward to doing so next week. The "cast" do a phenomenal job of ensuring that the content is appropriate for all ages, during the family friendly sessions. There are not jokes that go over children's heads, which children often understand better than we would like to think. The content is simply funny and clean. It is a true Tucson gem. In my opinion, Tucson is lacking in diverse evening activities, Unscrewed Theater is certainly doing their part to right that right. This is a great place for family and friends on Friday nights where you will not be embarrassed due to crude humor or foul language, which I appreciate. An entertaining stand up comedy show, for a very affordable $5 ticket price. They have 7:30pm family friendly shows on Friday and Saturday's and on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month they have an uncensored adult show. The theatre is run all by volunteers which is great. And they offer a few drinks and snacks at the ticket counter. The show is about an hour and includes different segments/themes that keeps the comedians and topics everchanging. read more
