I had no idea they had a full menu, so we ended up trying their sampler after already having an early dinner (no regrets). We got the mac and cheese balls, jalapeño poppers, and wings - classic bar food, but done really well. Exactly what you want when you're having a couple drinks and watching a show. The three stars is for the comedians because they were funny this evening, but overall the food was OK. Got some mozzarella sticks and french fries with the amount of mozzarella sticks. You would think you would get at least two dips whether it's marinara sauce and something else or two marinara sauce. The frozen house margarita tasted just like crushed up ice with no flavor ordered a top shelf, Long Island iced tea and it didn't really taste like they utilize top shelf liquor, although I was billed for top shelf liquor Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon read more

Laffs is still Tucson's premier venue for standup comedy! The comics that have been rolling through have been phenomenal. Tucson has access to such a great entry point to standup comedy with this club! Top tier comics coming to you in an intimate but exciting setting. The staff are top notch and absolutely kill it each weekend. There is a full food menu (I think their French dip is the best in town) that has plenty of options alongside a full bar. Be sure to grab a drink from their house bartender, Dingo! I have gone with sober friends and they have also had a very good time. I love attending the open mic on Thursdays which is free entry and a two item minimum. You can see up to 40 comics do 3 minuts of comedy each. My In Laws got tickets for a show here and invited us to come along. We sat near the front. We were asked to give our phone number to sign up for free tickets before the show. Whatever you do, DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER. They literally called us every other day for two months straight until I told the guy to stop calling us. We wouldn't have minded had the first Comedian not make jokes about my husband and I being gay. We were appalled by the first Comedian who proceeded to make jokes about my husband and I and another gay couple a few rows down. We get it is a comedy club, but the jokes were really inappropriate and we felt targeted and were both really embarrassed. My In Laws felt really bad and apologized to us the whole night. We left after the first act. Had I known this would happen, I wouldn't have given our phone number before the show for free tickets. I feel like the owner/management needs to do a better job screening Comedians coming in. Insulting people based on their sexual orientation/race isn't funny. read more

Always a great time! All of the comedians I've seen are great including the opening comedians. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The show room is usually always full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you fill out the contact card left on the table at the end of the show, they put you in a drawing for free tickets to one of the Friday or Saturday night shows. They give you up to 8 tickets and give you a couple of weeks to make plans. They do require each guest to order a minimum of 2 items from the food or drink menu. They charge a service fee on top of that which does not include the tip for the server. If you pay with a card there is also a charge, So best to pay with cash. read more

I went here last night. What a disappoint. They literally can't even give tickets away. Well, here's why. The comedians weren't too bad, so that's not the problem. The wait staff was helpful and friendly, so that's not it. I didn't order much. I got soda water and some fries. 4 dollars for a tiny soda water and 10 dollars for a side of fries. The fries were actually really good. Here's the problem. I get the check, and it doesn't add up. It's like 6 dollars too high. We there's the bill for the fries and the soda water, but then comes the extra charges. There's another dollar for using a credit card. There's a service fee? Of course there's tax. Service fee was another 4 dollars. Then there's it asking for a tip, of course. Isn't the tip considered a service fee? I don't want to short the waitress when she did a good job, so I'm gonna make sure she gets a tip. But service fees and fees for using a credit card? It's a comedy club, but this isn't funny at all. It's no wonder why they leave comment cards asking for your opinion and phone number and then call you offering free tickets. Nothing is free. It's always great to see comedians doing there thing, but this place is run like garbage and it's very apparent. You got good comedians, good food and good wait staff. Such a fun place! I was very apprehensive about going, but left pleasantly surprised! It was not cheap at all (and we only got apps and drinks) but tickets, food and drinks really add up. I'm a big fan of Laffs. I've been to probably 10 shows here over the years, and I always have a good time no matter who is performing. The perk of free ticket offers every now and then via email keeps me coming back. It's a blast to be surprised by what I'm going to see, and there have been several performers who left me crying tears of laughter. It's a very intimate venue, so the crowd interaction is inevitable and usually hilarious. The two-item minimum is easy to meet. The cocktail list is huge with plenty of fun, delicious options (I like sweet drinks, though). The Long Island and martinis are good options for a strong drink. I also love all the appetizers, especially the mozzarella sticks. I haven't tried the desserts, but the milkshakes make me drool when I see them arrive at a nearby table. Overall this was a good first experience. There was definitely variation of comics and that was good. It gave me the option to really laugh with some comedians more than others. What started as a pleasant evening ended in a sour note at the most unexpected venue! We haven't been back to Laffs in a few years, since before covid due to the way they used to squeeze you into the place and not give you much room to sit let alone laugh at! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The floor plan has opened up now but can't say the same for the management![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We paid for Preferred Seating, which means you get seated at tables near the stage basically. The seats are 10.00 more per person, so right out of the gate I would expect a little more customer service, which in fairness our waitress Stephanie was very attentive and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before the comedians come on they ask you to refrain from table talk during the show.. of course.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then the Host comes on does his bit, brings on 2 side show comedians before the main show, during one of the side show the cocomedian is telling jokes that prompt audiences responses so we laugh and talk back.. yuk yuk yuk... and then all of a sudden Mr Owner/Manager comes busting over to our table of 6 of us and leans over the middle and says "The talking needs to stop here! You all are talking too much! Keep it down.. " Instead of addressing the 1 or 2 individuals that may have been talking he ruins the experience for all of us now because now I don't want to engage or laugh at anything and I am front row to these comedians! He handled that situation entirely wrong, he should have spoken to whomever at our table was supposedly speaking too much or loudly separate.. I know it wasn't I or my husband or the friend next to him. But you lost customers for life because to sit there and be sad afterwards at a comedy show was not a good feeling Shame on you and your tactics! read more

We had a great time at Laffs Comedy club! The lineup was pretty good. The announcer was very funny and kept things moving right along. The drinks are generously poured while there is a two drink minimum, her bill for two people to go, including our tickets was just about $100. I am torn on my review. I love the shows here...but am not a fan of the checkout process or service. I was charged gratuity without being made aware, and when I questioned my bill the staff acted like they didn't know why my bill was so high. Laff's is ok. Just ok. You'll probably laugh here and there, or more if you're lucky, during the sets. Some are cringy bad, but that can be sorta funny too. I go with an open mind and just enjoy the time and it's all good. The seating arrangement is horrible however, especially if you have a bad neck or back. Half of almost any table has to turn completely around or crick their necks if they want to see. It was uncomfortable, especially because the space is crammed and sitting sideways makes it that much worse. One waiter kept slamming my arm and my head twice as he walked by. He didn't flinch or apologize at all, either. Oh well. There's a two item minimum, so be aware of that. The food is just ok but the portions are large and seem like a decent enough value. Good enough for a small comedy club, anyhow. Our waitress refilled our sodas pretty well given the atmosphere, so that was cool. I would go back to Laff's if someone wanted to, but it wouldn't be my first, second, or eighth choice of things to do for fun in Tucson. read more

The comedy was great. The host and two of the three comics (including the headliner) nailed it with insightful and clever jokes. The only disappointment was one comic who descended into cliche unfunny ethnic jokes - but overall the skill level was as good as any in the biggest cities. We ordered an appetizer and multiple drinks that were fine. The service was friendly and always available but never intrusive. Part of the fun of a comedy club, and I would say much more important than the food, is the audience. Laffs had a sold-out supportive audience that was ready to laugh at good jokes. Went there for open mic night...This is a great time to go; no cover and some guys really knock it out of the park while others crash and burn. I'm sure it's not easy to stand up in front of a crowd but it is entertaining none the less. Nothing much has changed at this venue over the years. So the comedy here was OK.... There were mostly local talents that definitely show why they have not made it much further in the field. Some of the comedians were not really funny, and the ones who were funny did not move between jokes very consistently. The plus in the entertainment is that they always end with a professional in the field. The ending comedian is always funny, to a point where you wonder why they don't have their own TV special yet. The food is the main reason why this review is a three and not higher. Food here leaves something to be desired and if was rated on it alone would be a two at best. I got a bacon guacamole burger and it was probably the third to worst burger I have ever had in the restaurant scene. The burger itself was overcooked and under-seasoned. It was so dry that no amount of sauce could have saved it. The bacon on it was crispy, but also overcooked and had too much char on them. For the guacamole, it was very basic. It was not seasoned very well and it tasted store bought, but it was fresh. The french fries were also under-seasoned and not crispy like at all. There were two things going for this burger though ... it was not burnt and it was edible. Reason why it was only the third worst I have had. It is worth coming back here for the comedy, you get a mixed bag, but that is expected in a comedy club. I will probably only order alcohol here though... I don't really want to waste money on the food. read more

For a local club in a small city this place stands out for quality of entertainment, decent food, reasonable prices, and customer friendly staff and management. Located in a dated strip mall, the parking is barely adequate. My biggest caveat was the blasting sound-music and voice-that was used to get the audience's attention, way too loud for these old ears. What the hell Laffs? Bought tickets to see our friend on stage....got confirmation the tickets were purchased... drove to the venue...found out AT LAFFS our tickets were cancelled to make room for a birthday party. The manager offered to "refund our tickets or he can get us in for the 9 o'clock show." Since we already spent money on the gas to get there we waited at the bar to say hi to our friend and we got to read his lips from the bar (sound proofed enough for the poor people not to be able to hear) while his set was going on. At 9 we had to wait for EVERYONE ELSE to be seated then while our friend's set was going on they led us to 2 chairs so we could FINALLY wait the show we paid for. The comics, the food, and the wait staff were great ... the management? not so much. read more

If you're just starting out with open mics, you should probably avoid Laffs. The Thursday night "open mic," is really just for the established comics to work out new material. Newbies just get thrown to the wolves with no warning. No communication with the signees. Just, "Hope you're fucking ready when we call your name." Just really shitty people all around. I hadn't been to Laffs in years and I was really glad we came last night. We started off the night with a drink at the bar. The BF ordered a vodka/OJ and the OJ was a bit funky. (It was from the drink gun) My drink was great. Once inside we ordered more drinks and desert. All of those were awesome. The comics were fabulous. The folks in the audience behaved themselves. I think my laugh lines are a little deeper this morning. Free tickets to the 10:30 show last night ended a great evening with friends. OK, we all know that Laff's is not high class and has been around for years and years but it's fun, right? I mean, I've been to comedy clubs in LA and they pretty much have the same ambiance, smell and crappy tables/chairs. So just get over the fact that it's dingy and dated and allow yourself to sit back and enjoy yourself. Having said that and because I've been here before we knew to eat elsewhere before the show and stick with beer instead of the overpriced/mediocre cocktails. They pack you in pretty tightly and whet your appetite with the opening comedian. The laughter builds with each act until the headliner comes out. Last night's comedian, Collin Moulton was hilarious. So funny that I picked up his $5 CD in the lobby after the show was over. **If you're reading this today, do yourself a favor and go tonight. He's still there. It cracks me up when someone in the audience is offended at the off-color, inappropriate humor. What were they expecting? If you're looking for g-rated comedy, go elsewhere. read more
