The class begins at 7am at the Tennessee Beach Access and lasts 1 hour. Caroline was warm, welcoming and made the practice good for all levels. She focused on our breath, gentle poses and our beautiful surroundings. Overlooking the sun rising over the ocean was so peaceful and rejuvenating as the waves crash on the beach. Also, it was cool to have the sand move under your towel. It actually cradled your body and hands in poses that was really great. Some of the flow movements were trickier with the sand but doable. I wished I had done this class earlier in the summer as they will not offer it during the colder months. I'll be checking out their other classes!

For starters, the space itself is warm, bright and gorgeous. They've got two studios (the second is relatively new) a small communal space and a deck that wraps around the back and looks out into the trees. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can finish my next visit with tea and conversation out there. The studio offers plenty of parking, lots of class options for all levels and even spa services (which I have yet to try but I'll have to splurge on a massage some time... you know.... to fulfill my duties as a responsible reviewer.... ). My instructor was awesome - guiding us through a challenging 90-minute session, but never taking things *too* seriously (I like that we can all admit that Warrior 3 is really freaking hard sometimes or get a good giggle out of Happy Baby). Like I said, I just got home and I'm already planning my return. It's a bit off the beaten path, but so worth the adventure. When you consider that it's only $15 to drop-in, and you leave feeling like you've just had a full body (and mind) massage? It's a steal :)

There…read moreare two beautiful and clean studios filled with all kinds of props (the blankets are washed regularly, something I've never encountered before even in the groovy and pricey NYC studios), a myriad of classes conducted by a wide-range of teachers, and it's run by twin sisters Monique and Kersten who go out of their way to make every customer happy. I drive 25 miles each way to get my dose of bliss at Porters Neck Yoga & Spa--that's how phenomenal the place is. And that's not even counting the full range spa located upstairs. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't feel the same way I do about the place--that's how spectacular PNYS is!

My favorite classes are the hour of power classes with Jessie-she will definitely make you work hard. She taught a class external to the studio and it was so relaxing. I am not a flexible yogi and I felt comfortable with the ease of it. I wasn't intimidated and she gave you poses to do if you couldn't manage others. Now the pottery? UGH - IN A GOOD WAY. I am taking one of the beginner pottery series through Pineapple with Steph. It's AMAZING. I am terrible at it buuuuuuuut the class is so fun, regardless of my talentless pottery skills. Steph teaches you how to do it all and makes it looks so easy but is so encouraging. The class is small and intimate so she can always help when you need it. It is so relaxing with the music and the groups. I love that there are hours you can go try it outside of class time too. It's a great place to get creative or relax, even buy some pottery! Love it.

Arrive early to watch the sun rise over the ocean, the beach is so calm and peaceful. I also enjoyed Saturday morning beach yoga with Kim, the perfect way to get in some relaxing me time before a busy day at the beach with my kids. Pro tip: after morning beach yoga stop at Happy Hippies Java Hut for an iced latte!

Amplifly has changed my life!!…read more I've always enjoyed working out- but I think I could almost say I LOVE working out now. I never thought I would enjoy getting in exercise for the day as much as I have at Amplifly. I gave this gym a go one January day that I had off from work just to see if I liked it. I loved it so much that I continued purchasing packs of classes to come back. I live in Sneads Ferry which is about 35 minutes from this gym, I enjoy coming here so much that I'm willing to drive that time just to come here. They offer classes of all types and all experience levels are welcomed in each. I personally have only been to the spin classes, but I love them so much that I haven't tried anything else. Some of my favorite spin instructors here are CJ, Alisha, and Ali- she's the owner! The studio is spacious & offers spaces large enough for all their classes. The music is always bumping & the instructors are experienced to help out gym goers of any experience level. What I love most about this gym is that you aren't just another member. The instructors & other gym goers take the time to learn your name, and get to know you- it's like you're a member of a family. The instructors take time to get to know you & learn your goals and encourage you every step of the way. There's always some type of challenge or special going on month to month, and they encourage you to bring friends to show them what it's all about. They offer classes for children, and child care at certain days & times throughout the week for all those busy grownups that still want to prioritize their health. There are plenty of clean bathrooms available here which offer showers & almost any type of item that you could need or forgot for the gym might be found here. The staff & instructors here really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I'm so glad that I discovered Amplifly, I only wish I found it sooner!

I've been to 3 free-cycle classes so far and all of the instructors are enthusiastic, fit, and unbelievably professional. One of them in particular, Shaun, is particularly motivating and super fun! To give more in depth details: -Loud Music, usually high-tempo dance/EDM music or remixes of popular songs -Very interactive with the instructor, there are often dance-like moves incorporated -Lighting varies throughout the class. Typically a dark room with DJ-like flashing lights. Lighting adjusts with song/tempo. -Room is kept fairly cool (Oh and on Fridays they end class with free Truleys & Beer )
