Crunchy Philly roll

Such a great find. The outside lacks a little luster but there is reasonable parking. Inside is a spacious area with four tops and two tops that could easily be squeezed together for a bigger group. The food was delicious. The menu had signature rolls like the toro bomb which was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, sociable and made recommendations. We enjoyed the food and look forward to coming back.

Uoyakutei is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner! They have a great menu with lots of tasty options and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. Love this local restaurant!!

Salmon Skin Hand Roll

It's located at the end of the street with parking right in front. The inside is very nice and welcoming. Our server was quick with bringing water which was nice. The prices per roll looked good but keep in mind, they are much smaller than what I expected. We didn't get full with what we normally order. I had to order a second round because it wasn't enough. Overall it was good.

It's very chic inside. Looks dumpy on outside. Very good. Very nicely prepared. Service good. Super fresh. I came for their happy hours 430-6pm. But mainly order off menu. I sat at sushi bar. 2chefs. Large menu and I want unique offerings. They do have wine beer and sake. I didn't drink. Would reco and would return when I'm back in area. My chef was Andy.

We have been in Pacifica for 3+ years and never came here. The service is great! The food was very good and very creative. Loved that they have a great veggie option menu. My mom who is Japanese said the Chu toro and Negó toro rolls were excellent!! Will absolutely make this a regular spot from now on. Don't judge a place by its exterior. We were pleasantly surprised!!

When my husband and I first walked over to this restaurant we were a little skeptical. The outside looked like a former Jack in the Box, but you should never judge a book by its cover. Or in this case, don't judge a restaurant by its former paint. Whenever we go on vacation we love to grab a few sushi rolls and sip on hot sake. This place definitely satisfied our craving! We ordered: -Chicken Karaage which came with spicy aioli. The fried breading was a little thicker than we are used to, but the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. -Tuna Lover Roll (spicy tuna, asparagus tempura topped wth blue fin tuna and crunchy flakes) was my favorite! You can never go wrong with blue fin tuna! Yum!! -Giant Roll (unagi, avocado topped with walu, onions, scallions, tobiko and friend garlic) was pretty interesting. It had a lot of different textures from the onions and garlic, but still really fresh. -Warrior Roll (salmon, avocado, lemon topped with hamachi and garlic sauce) really packed a flavor bomb in your mouth. It looked the simplest, but probably had the most flavor. The mix of lemon and garlic really push through and complement the salmon. We here for a early dinner around 5pm and it had a good amount of people. No wait, but I could tell that it would start getting crowded after we left. The servers were nice and quick with our food and drinks. They kept the sake flowing so we were having a blast! Such a chill spot to grab some delicious and fresh sushi! Love it!

Green Tea Ice Cream and Hot Sake

I give four stars because I have only tried a small portion of their menu. I come for the sashimi. The chef's favorite 7 piece is my go-to. I pair it with garlic edamame. They go well together. The balance with the hot sake makes it a complete meal, and then topped off with the green tea ice cream. A full four course meal, well priced. It's one of the best sushi places in Pacifica, conveniently located off HWY 1. Come alone, or with friends or with kids - there's something for everyone. Good space.

My family and I ordered dinner from this Japanese restaurant via DoorDash. I got the main dish for beef teriyaki. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It came with miso soup, salad, and rice. I also ordered a California hand roll which I enjoyed because it had real crab meat. My family was also satisfied with their meals and rolls so we'll definitely be ordering from here again.

Yoshe Nabe hot pot and 49er roll
ulysses l.

I sat at the bar to watch the sushi chefs at work and for quicker service. It was a little cold out so I decided to have something warm, and I never pass on a 49er roll. The broth in the seafood hot pot was bland which was disappointing because it carried over to the seafood. It needed depth of flavor to bring it all together. The salmon in the 49er roll tasted fresh. The roll was small but good. I gave it a 3-star rating only because of the friendliness of one of the sushi chefs. The real question is - would I come back? Probably not...

This is my go to spot because…read more 1) I always order the same thing and love it. delicious items include sesame chicken and salad dressing, decent items include ca rolls, miso soup, shrimp tempura, and not for me includes chicken teriyaki. 2) it is CHEAP and they offer a free order of CA roll if you dine out with an order of at least $25. They upgrade the roll depending on your bill. 3) friendly staff. I've dined in maybe 4 times but have ordered out much more. The times I have dined in I've noticed they know majority of their customers well enough for lengthly conversations and catch ups. 4) Place itself is usually never busy and I've never had to wait for a table. 5) I've always found parking right in front as well. I think inside could be made a little better/cozier/more comfortable, but everything else is solid.

They were also talking it up with some one who was waiting for a to-go order. I dined in with two rolls, which ran me about $18 and change. Just water, no tea, no miso, and two rolls that had some fairly loose wrapped fillings. Out of the 12 pieces I think 5 of them fell apart as I was lifting them to my mouth. That is not right. Piece of avocado & a piece of scallop fell onto my shirt. I guess I needed to do laundry anyways. Perhaps it was because I was sitting in the sun? I don't know for it to happen ~50% of the time I rate that as poor rolling. The taste was great! Service was pretty mediocre. 15 minute wait from order to my table (I was the only person dining in). No check in about the meal, no "how are you today?", no refill on water, and no tip provided as a result. I'll probably come back again if I have a craving for Japanese, just because it's close-by but it's no Go-Sushi.

The sauces complemented the ingredients perfectly without overpowering them, and overall it was a very delicious meal. I would order from here again. The only downside was that a few of the grape tomatoes weren't fresh. The spicy salmon was incredibly fresh, the tuna was outstanding, and the sauce combinations? Absolute chef's kiss! The endlessly customizable bowls were a treat. The dude behind the counter had generous hands, loading up our bowls way beyond what we expected. A total and very welcome surprise! We couldn't wait to dig in, so we grabbed one of the tables right there and made it our pre-adventure fuel stop. The space is cozy and laid-back. There were a few tables, a water dispenser, and just the right noise level for easy conversation. It's the kind of spot that's small but mighty. We are absolutely coming back. Poke

The chirashi bowl was so good, and they were generous with the sashimi. The pieces were thick and fresh, which made it feel worth ordering. Shoutout to our server, Gunwoo, who was super friendly and helpful with the menu. He made the whole experience even better. There was also a good crowd watching the World Cup, so the restaurant had a fun, welcoming energy. I also liked the Japanese-themed interior and the music playing in the background. It all came together really nicely. Definitely planning on coming back for lunch since I saw they have some pretty good lunch specials.

I immediately saw red flags and we should have left. My bowl arrived with a vegetable in it that shouldn't have been there, and I have no idea whether it was remade or simply removed. The biggest issue was safety. The server placed a sizzling hot beef teriyaki platter directly in front of my son without any warning that the plate was extremely hot. That could have easily resulted in a burn. The $27 beef teriyaki itself was disappointing--very little sauce and served over sautéed peppers, onions, and cabbage, making it feel more like fajitas than teriyaki. Overall, cleanliness, food quality, and attention to safety were lacking.
