I absolutely love this hidden gem. Whenever I want Japanese food but want to do something low key, I come here. It's a huge space and the servers/cooks etc are fast and efficient. The ambiance is always warm and welcoming. I wish they got more recognition but also not because it's one of the few places I feel truly comfortable coming alone. When adding tip we did a custom amount as we were not very satisfied with the service but still wanted to contribute. I am very confused by the bad reviews. It seems like people are being overly-picky and overly-critical. My daughter and I love sushi and have been to countless sushi restaurants. Honestly, I'm disappointed to say that some of the reviews here were right. The place looks decent and definitely gets crowded. I was helped with my to go order pretty fast. What bothered me was the specials menu they have was hard to read. I was placing my order from the menu. I was ordering the teriyaki 12 oz. Ribeye entree. He tells me no, that's wrong. We only have 8 or 10 oz. It wasn't updated. So we ordered: 1. Pork gyoza - I do not recommend this. It's worse than the frozen one you'd make at home. 2. Crab cheese puff - Do NOT order this. Something about it first bite, even second bite, you just know you're going to regret it. It didn't taste fresh, and the filling was sour. 3. Shrimp tempura roll - I wanted to try their sushi and wanted to keep it simple. This sushi had lettuce in it. I'd like to think I'm somewhat of a sushi connoisseur, but this is an abomination. 4. 2 item bento - short rib and tempura. It was sad. Meat only 3 pieces were given. Tempura, nothing special. It's kind of soggy and lacked flavor. 5. 10 oz ribeye - This was good. This was the only thing I liked out of the order. The food here I get is pretty good, I usually get the avocado rolls, and I get them to-go because it's during my lunch break, but on one occasion I saw a member of staff walk in with sushi from Oceana market and bring it into the restaurant behind the sushi bar... Went in, was ignored while the lady at the front counter (I assume she was the owner) was talking on the phone about a fraudulent credit card transaction with a recent customer (never a good sign). After waiting 10 min, I was expecting a greeting / eye contact when she finally hanged up, but the lady instead started updating a server (I assume her son/nephew), about the phone call. I went up to the counter to order (I was sitting, looking at the menu on Yelp all this time), but was still ignored, as the owner continued updating her server about the phone call. After that, I walked right out... I have always maintained common decency by not leaving bad reviews. I only take time to provide reviews on Yelp if it's positive, and don't bother taking time if an experience was negative, especially if it's a small non-franchise business, but when it's inexcusable offense like this, well, here you go. Go Sushi is my "ol faithful" for when I want a quick/nearby sushi fix. I mainly order for delivery (as I am in the area) and rarely for pick up. Their quality for my order is always consistent. This isn't meant to be a very thorough review, but since I've been a customer for *years* I can very honestly recommend them if you're ever in an indecisive pickle or are looking for a very reasonably priced meal that guarantees freshness and consistent quality. I was disappointed to this sushi restaurant. Went on a Weds lunch time and was hoping to see lots of people. But only 3 tables included ours. 1) the service was slow and ok . Not to friendly 2) the sushi roll is not great. The sushi rice fall apart when I pick it up. This is the first time to see how dry the sushi rice was. 3) Price is ok. Since they've been remodeling this strip mall, there are no signs to indicate the location of this restaurant, I wasn't the only person that had a hard time locating this restaurant, that should have been a sign. I ordered my normal chicken katsu curry. Well it was rather bland and not spicy at all. There are plenty of other restaurants that do a much better job of this dish. Another friend ordered a spider roll, to me it was all show and not much else, I'm a big content person and needless presentation without matching the importance of the matching food is a big waste to me. You can make presentations look spectacular but if the food is not good then why are you bothering with the most important part of the meal, the food. This review of for tonight's service. We've eaten here several times even during Covid supporting local restaurants. They are now charging for ginger by ounce. The food is still good. However, my daughter noticed that her miso soup only had 2 small tofus and 2 small pieces of seaweed. We were a little disappointed. Also, I'm not sure if they changed wait staff. The two who waited on us were not friendly at all and we waited a long time before they took our order. Definitely a good time for me and the family, if your siblings are over the age of 50. We come here for a late lunchtime after shooting at San Francisco archery field. We are tired and hungry. Good place to grab a beer or sake. The sushi boat is a must . Delicious fresh fish served on a boat. Appetizer consisted of green soy beans and deep-fried chicken . So yummy. Melt in your mouth. Really rude service. I walked up to place a takeout order with two sick unhappy kids with me. After placing the order I found out the takeout would be 15-20 minutes and so immediately decided to cancel the order because one of my kids was melting down. After a few minutes I was able to calm the kids down and so asked if I could now place the order. The host refused to let me order again saying it was too much of a hassle. The restaurant was completely empty and the kids were waiting in the outdoor area, not even in the restaurant. A little bit of compassion for an exhausted mother and kids would have been nice. Food isn't 5 star, the restaurant is dark and kinda sad looking inside, but hey, for what it is, it's pretty decent. For us, the service was great. Good location at the Eureka Square strip mall with ample parking. Although there's usually people inside, it doesn't seem to ever get overly crowded that it slows down the service (and they also do quite a bit of take out orders too). While GO isn't the absolute best I've had, it is highly consistent with taste and prompt service...enough to be a regular call when craving sushi! The go-to choices are the various dragon rolls & spicy tuna roll for me. The unagi & avocado hand roll is decent too. My latest order was 5 rolls for under $50, which is totally reasonable & a good value. Surprised at the quality. We ended up here since we were seeing someone play at the bar next door. The sushi combo had more variety and quality than your average sushi place. They were out of ankimo and uni but it's always a delight seeing both on the menu. They made a mistake with the price of the plum wine because it's $2.50 on Sunday's but I didn't realize it until after she charged the card. They fixed it pretty quickly which was good. I give this place a 4/5 because the customer service is just ok. The bathroom is a bit dirty and there's only one bathroom working. The layout and design of the restaurant is a bit outdated. If they revamped the place it'd become a place I'd go for an anniversary. However right now it's a place I'd be unimpressed if someone took me there for a date despite the quality of food. We went in yesterday to Go Sushi because we got a craving for sashimi, and didnt feel like driving far. We were delighted at how good their sashimi was, Fresh! Quality slices both in size, freshness and quality of fish. The service was quick,, courteous and efficient. The restaurant clean and good ambience. The only drawback is that it is tucked back next to Long Board bar and Ocean Groceries store, so it took a minute to find the front door. We are fairly picky people when it comes to Japanese food, have been eating it my entire life, so this came as a nice surprise that the quality of the food can be found locally. We used to do takeout all the time from them, but then the pandemic hit. Im glad they are still there and their wonderful fresh sushi and sashimi is still here. Definitely will be back for more of their delicious food, especially the sashimi,, which btw is served and displayed beautifully !! read more

Let me tell you something, this restaurant good. If you are a sashimi lover, this is the place to eat if you're on a budget plus there's bento box. Our server is great because it tells us what the actual sushi is anytime we have a question for a certain sushi. Very attentive too I might add. The downside is that finding the restaurant is a bit tricky, even though the restaurant is in the Plaza there's a space where is a seating area that blocks the restaurant view from the parking. Last weekend I had a heartwarming experience at Go Sushi. My kids and I were in the area and stopped in for lunch. The food was good, service was prompt and we were all happy with the meal. Later when we arrived home my son realized he had lost a $100 bill at some point during the day. We called the restaurant just to see if it had somehow fallen out in the booth we had sat in at the restaurant that day. They hadn't found it, but said they would call back if it turned up. I didn't have much hope that they actually would even if it did turn up. Amazingly an hour later we received a call back from them saying they had found the money and would hold onto it for us. So grateful for the honest staff of Go Sushi, who could easily have pocketed that money and we never would have known. We will definitely be coming back here. Current review: Disappointed. I love supporting local businesses during covid-time but would avoid Go Sushi at least for carry our now and into the future. We drove over the hill to grab some teriyaki chicken here. The menu they post had a lunch special so ordered the special with a Cali roll and tempura. Drove 20 minutes south to eat it, then after setting it up realized WTF is the chicken?!? It was only rice, rice wrapped Mayo rolls, and the deep fried tempura. Talk about protein deficiency. Mistakes happen, that's cool, so I called them up. Nothing they could do to fix it today but they could make it up later. But when I tell her about the missing chicken, she tells me, "we aren't doing specials." Ummm, I ordered the special and you went I've REGe items on the special- that might have been a good time to tell me this, and not when I'm sitting down to eat it... The craziest thing is I was charged more than the 3-item special for two items of unbalanced carbo-load. Oddly, it has rice and soup and salad like the special, so It took me a while to realize I'd been shorted. No offer to make up for her mistake, just had to eat a crapload of rice and none of the expected teriyaki, the original reason for patronizing them. They only have one menu posted, assuredly for several months now. But they didn't bother telling customers they aren't selling things on the menu but will still allow orders for it then short them food and charge more. Old review: Finally found another decent restaurant in the backwaters of Pacifica. And most surprising, it's a Chinese "Japanese" place (which usually translates to "horrible"). Located in this large shopping center that's nearly invisible unless you know to search for it. Big grocery store next door with large selection of organics and supplements and other departments, really well stocked. $10 lunch bento lets you pick a couple items off a list of about 12, along with salad, rice, and soup. Salad was that typical iceberg and miso/French dressing, and rice was mediocre, but their miso soup had promise. Salmon teriyaki tasted alright and the tempura was balanced well without overlooking the vegetables, tempura dip delicious. Their maki rolls had generous ingredients, fresh and tasted really good. And the ginger had a fresh snappiness to it. Finally, tea very strong and kept its own against the meal. I was mostly shocked to find another restaurant in Pacifica that I'd return to. Going straight for 5 stars since I have zero complaints. Went for a late lunch and was immediately seated to a booth. Though I was the only person there, they were doing a robust to-go business. Everything was clean and ordered. The lighting is nice and has a moody-dimness I appreciate in a restaurant, with focus lights over each seating area. I order the 2-piece Bento Box w/ salmon teriyaki and California roll. I was first served the soup and salad before the box was delivered. The salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing is the delicious miso dressing I could drink straight, it's so tasty. The miso had a nice flavor and the usual sparse but typical portion of tofu bits and seaweed. The box was a little underwhelming appearance wise (usually the salad is included in BBs so it made it look a bit sparse), but the flavors were spot on. Love the teriyaki sauce which is a nice consistency and great flavor. The salmon was deliciously moist. I literally ran my soaked lettuce over the ball rice to save whatever t. sauce I could! The rice was nice and sticky. Wasabi lacked a little oopmh but you have enough to enjoy each piece of sushi. The California roll was very good though I wish there were more filling vs. rice exterior so could really enjoy that "melt in your mouth" experience with shoving the whole thing into your mouth and letting it just sit there all creamy crab-i-licious.
