They lived up to their great reviews, from the initial contact phone call all the way to the conclusion of the installation of my new unit. Derek, the estimate technician who arrived at my home on April 23rd, was knowledgeable and addressed my questions and offered options. He was at my home for over two hours! He offered me several options, without pressuring me, simply explaining the benefits of each option. His willingness to explore my request to remove current water outflow pipe that had been on the garage floor for decades, presenting a safety risk, and route it another way outside was taken seriously and creatively. He took me through the plan and I was so pleased. The technicians who arrived the next day to do the install, Gary, James and Kauntes, were excellent workers. Gary was in charge and went over the plan with me in detail. He was able to troubleshoot a few issues and get the job done! All three of them were courteous and, without being asked, applied shoe coverings every time they entered the house. They cleaned up after themselves. Gary kept me apprised of their progress. They began working at approximately 9:15 am and did not leave my house until 6:15 pm. I could not be more pleased. 5/5 rating Thank you I will be recommending The Comfort Authority to anyone who needs air conditioning work done. Donna Harmony-Jones Kathleen Watson

Dunedin Refrigeration

This is my second buying/install experience with Dunedin Refrigeration in the last 25 years. The…read morelast system they installed and maintained lasted 25 years (installed 06/13/2001) and was still working when I decided to replace it before it failed. I replaced my 5 ton heat-pump with TRANE's XV20i variable speed condenser coupled with their Hyperion air handler and I couldn't be happier. I also opted to replace all of my old R4 flex ducts which were originally installed by the home builder in 1988, and leaked air into the attic in numerous places. I spent several weeks getting competitive bids for the exact same equipment from "top rated" companies on the TRANE website and several others including Dunedin Refrigeration who I already had a great experience with. I won't even go into how some of the salesmen spent over an hour itemizing each "discount" that I was going to get if I went with them. It seemed like the "top rated" TRANE dealers that I contacted were also the most expensive by 30-40%. Then I called Dunedin Refrigeration and the owner, Jeff Bowman, came to my house, carefully priced out each of the components that I wanted and gave me a printed proposal listing everything including the extended parts and labor warranty in under 40 minutes. He didn't try to sell me something else like UV lights and he itemized everything and gave me a price for the duct work and a price for the new TRANE system and offered to start the following week. There was one company that was a bit less in price for everything but as I had such a good experience with Dunedin Refrigeration last time around, I went with them again. It took them five days to complete the job primarily because they completely removed all the old ducts, supply, return, mixing boxes and plenums and then completely redesigned all the duct-work and rebuilt all the mixing boxes and plenums. They actually designed the new system, diagrammed everything on paper and followed the plan knowing that if they had to make adjustments, they could just refer to the diagram. Everyday they arrived early in the morning and cleaned up when they finished. The crew was respectful, friendly and professional, you could tell that they knew what they were doing and worked together well. At no time did I feel that they were rushing or cutting corners. The owner repeatedly told them to take as much time as they needed and they did. Now that the job is completed, I am very pleased with the result, the system works very well in fact, it never was this good since I built the house in 1988. The volume of cool air blowing out of the vents in the ceilings was never like this, never this strong since I moved in and I think it's because of the properly engineered duct work layout. Lastly, when the county inspector came to inspect the installation, he remarked after he completed the entire inspection that the quality of workmanship he just saw was top notch, he couldn't find a fault with anything. He also said that he wasn't surprised given that it was done by Dunedin Refrigeration. As the homeowner, I was pleased to hear that.

This company tried to sell me a unit or at least a coil without even cleaning the drain or…read moreanything. They came out quickly but then the guy said he didn't clean the drain cause he knew by the air pressure that the coil was bad. Gave us a quote for the coil of nearly $4K and said we might wanna consider a new unit, given the age of our unit. That estimate was $9K. We had another company come out and they cleaned the drain, said the coil was fine and that was it! Glad I followed my instincts! Beware and get a second opinion before succumbing to this companies tricks.
