After eating dinner at Sparrow & Wolf on a Friday evening, my husband and I decided to stop by Up In Scoops for a sweet treat! This ice cream shop is located on West Sahara Avenue, towards the 95 N/S. This ice cream shop is a tribute to the pop culture of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s! I was in awe at the dessert shop! After walking in, I was fully immersed in the vintage posters, arcade games, and all of the memorabilia. Before looking at all of the decorations, I did decide to order first. Their menu has a wide range of ice cream flavors, milkshakes, signature spaghetti sundaes, and so much more! I looked on their menu on Yelp before coming, so I already knew what I was getting, the large peanut buttercup milkshake, with a chocolate base and whipped cream! There were a few other families ahead of us, which gave me plenty of time to look at all of the cool vintage items in Up in Scoops. Some of their arcade games included Donkey Kong and Galaga! On the wall towards the bathrooms, you could see their display of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! There is a large section dedicated to Star Wars! If you're a big fan of Star Wars, you need to come to Up in Scoops just to look at all of their memorabilia! They had a lot of posters on the wall, that you could even purchase! I saw one of Studio Ghibli themed that had My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle (one of my favorites!). After about 15 minutes, the milkshake was ready! It was perfect! Most of the peanut buttercup was blended in smoothly with the milkshake! The service was great! Super cool retro ice cream shop. They have tons of 80s pop paraphernalia so you can reminisce and take pics with Han Solo in carbonite. For an Oreo sundae and it was so ample, I thought I would die. It better be for the price. Only a couple of cons for this place- I didn't like being forced to tip since trying to not tip voids the transaction and the employee had to process it again. Love this new ice cream shop. Love the theme and decor. They have arcades, star wars memorabilia, etc. They also have posters for sale. This shop is small with just a few tables. Unfortunately, all tables were occupied when we arrived so we just ate our desserts inside the car. Their menu is extensive. There are functioning arcade games to spend some time in and plenty of spots for a tiny corner ice cream parlor to walk around and explore. The menu is fun and playful and the milk shake was great. I've driven by Uo In Scoops for the past year thinking it was maybe a basketball jersey shop...I know...I KNOW! I should have just double checked and would have been able to experience their amazing treats even sooner! It was after work and I had been having a rough week so I ordered 2 things. I ordered one scoop of Salted Caramel Toffee ice cream and tried ordering an Orange Creamsicle shaved ice but the lady who was helping me let me know they were sold out. She suggested I try it in Strawberry. The ice cream was good and creamy and had little toffee bits but my favorite item was the shaved ice! I'm not sure what kind of machine they got inside but this shaved ice was second only to the shaved ice I've had in Hawaii. It was so soft and fluffy and had such a great texture. I stopped myself from eating it too fast that I could enjoy the experience longer. OMG!! I can't wait to go back and get the orange creamsicle one!!! We were craving ice cream on this warm day and Up In Scoops has been on my list so we decided to check it out! It is located in a big shopping plaza with lots of parking. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and we were taken away by all the decor inside! It is a 70s, 80s & 90s themed shop which we loved! We were a little overwhelmed with the menu because there are so many options! They have everything from ice cream to milkshakes and even shave ice! The girl went over the menu and also recommended her favorite which was the banana split. My daughter ordered a Strawberry Cheesecake gelato and I ordered a scoop of Rocky Road in a waffle cone. My husband couldn't decide and passed this time. While waiting we walked around and everything brought us back to our childhood days! There are even arcade games to play!
