They installed a metal gate on 1/29/25 and on 3/13/25 the gate fell due to poor welding. He posted his work on his instagram. I contacted him immediately via Instagram and his contact number numerous times. When he replied he reported his phone was not working and provided a different contact number. I expressed my urgency to have the gate repaired due to the the gate being held up with zip ties. He reported that he allowed his inexperienced worker do the welds that is why they broke, he apologized and we scheduled a date of when he would fix the gate. That was the last time I had any contact with Luis Felix. After several failed contract attempts I decided to hire someone else to fix his poor work. My Association came close to suing LF Ironworks. TL;DR: Hire someone else. Do not hire Luis or his company, LF Ironworks, under any circumstances. He will disappoint you, sell you refurbished goods but tell you that they are new, do sub-par work and will not do anything to complete the job. In fact, LF Ironworks will not even show up on time for a pre-scheduled appointment unless, of course, it is to pick up payment. My association hired LF Ironworks to replace a security gate. We ordered a new security gate with an auto-locking knob. Luis/LF Ironworks wanted partial payment upfront and the rest of the payment upon completion. In hindsight, I should have never paid the second half of the agreement until all work was completed. The gate itself seemed to be refurbished and not new. The paint that Luis/LF Ironworks put on the gate was incomplete and we had to call him back to the property just to finish the paint job. Then one week after touching up the paint on the gate, the security knob fell off! As you absorb the previous paragraph, please re-read it with the knowledge that the amount of time between installing the gate and coming back to our property to complete the painting of the gate was 2-weeks! Also keep in mind that Luis/LF Ironworks was paid in full. Every call to Luis/LF Ironworks was forwarded to voicemail and multiple text messages went ignored. The only reason that Luis/LF Ironworks came back to our property is because he was threatened with legal action for breach of contract and for selling a bill of goods that was refurbished and defective. Wait, there's more! 1-week after Luis/LF Ironworks came back to the property to "fix" the paint, the security knob fell off. I called Luis to fix this problem and I needed to go through the exact same process as mentioned earlier; multiple phone calls forwarded to voicemail and multiple text messages ignored. He finally said that he would come by to look at the security knob... and that was over a month ago. We finally hired another vendor to fix the security knob and the new vendor's assessment of the original work was, "Luis/LF Ironworks sold you a security knob that was not intended for outdoors. Also, this is one of the cheapest security knobs in the market." I hired Luis/LF Ironworks mostly because I wanted to support a minority-owned small business, especially during the COVID-19 shutdown. I will continue to support minority-owned small businesses --BUT-- hiring Luis/LF Ironworks is the biggest mistake I have made as president of my Association HOA. The only reason we have not sued Luis/LF Ironworks (yet!) is because our attorney's court calendar is backlogged due to the COVID-19 shutdowns in Los Angeles. However, it is highly likely we will peruse legal recourse after the vaccine rollout in the first quarter of 2021. Be warned! read more

The only thing this company is good at is professionally flaking on clients. When my custom electric gate broke due to all the rain we've had this winter, I began searching Yelp for quality repair companies. I reached out to this company via Yelp's messaging system and they responded fairly quickly. They asked for my contact information and we began texting back-and-forth. We set up a consultation for a Monday at 9 a.m. I rearranged my work schedule so I could stay home in the morning to meet them. Well, 9 a.m. comes along, then 9:15 and they still aren't at my house, so I reach out again. The owner finally gets back to me and says that his truck broke down and that he's not coming. Could he not have texted me that so I wasn't wasting my morning waiting for him? I responded and ask him to let me know what time he'd like to reschedule. Nada. I reached out again later in the week. Again nothing. If you don't want to fix my gate, just let me know. But not letting me know, wasting my time and being inconsiderate -- well that says a lot about who you are and how you run your business. I obtained his information from his Instagram. All the fence pictures on his social media appeared flawless, and he provided a fairly reasonable quote compared to other companies. I opted for his service without checking Yelp reviews first. However, his craftsmanship turned out to be very unprofessional. In less than a year, the paint on the steel has peeled off, leading to rust. Some wooden boards and screws have also loosened. He never completed the project, and despite my attempts to contact him, he never returned. I gave 2 stars because of the price, but I would recommend looking for a fence service elsewhere. read more

They answered immediately & came within 30 mins of the call and gave me an estimate that was fair & said they could complete the work the next day. My experience with LF Ironworks and Luis Felix was so disconcerting- very similar to the recent reviews by Michael, Magli, and Terra, that I feel obligated to do a review. Like the others it started with Luis' broken promises to just show up. Of course, after he received more than 50% of the contract funds, he was a no show. Not even the courtesy of a call. After weeks of broken promises, on May 19th, I texted him that it was obvious he was unable to complete my job, and to please return the money I had paid. He pleaded with me to please let his guys finish the job. He promised that after the initial damage (weld burns) to the stucco from his workers not covering and masking the stucco when constructing the frame on a portion of the staircase, he would complete my job in a timely/professional manner. He assured me that the stucco would be masked and protected from thereon out. On top of the stucco damage, he fabricated the balcony rail 3 1/2" short of the wall, so there is a huge gap. Likewise, he did such an unprofessional job painting the rail in the shop with a sprayer, that there were drips all over the rail. When I brought it to his attention, and inquired why this was not corrected at the shop, he laughed, sanded some of the spots, and painted those areas with a roller, so there was no longer a uniform appearance. Not sure what looks or feels worst. Paint drips, or a tacky roller finish mixed with a sprayed finish? Luis' response to my request that he reimburse me for the stucco damage, and fabricate the balcony rail correctly, was that his contract does not cover for his negligence, or repair of the damage to my property, or to fabricate the rail per the contract. There would have been no damage if he did the basic masking and protecting. There are welder blankets, and other masking materials used to protect surrounding area. Likewise, regarding the faulty install. His guys measured wrong on site, and instead of going back and fixing the balcony rail, he used his grinder cutting into the stucco finish, and brown coat of the stucco, along with burned welds, to "jimmy" in the rail so there is now a 3 1/2" gap from the wall. I submitted repair estimates to Luis to repair the stucco, to fix the paint job on the rail, and to correct the faulty fabricated balcony rail, and even told him in an attempt to resolve that if he would reimburse for the damage, I would not ask him to correct the design of the rail I paid him to fabricate. His response was that he was "not fixing nothing it's not in budget". Everyone makes mistakes, its how you respond to your mistakes that tells people who you are. This is just awful. At this point it appears my only recourse is the contractors board, small claims court, and/or Better Business Bureau. Attempting to upload photos to yelp so you can see it for yourself. read more

Was in search of an iron fence for a business. My dad paid Felix/ Luis 2,300 to start the work and then decided to go with another company last minute. We asked for the deposit back and Felix said it was too late as he had bought the materials (within 1 day of given deposit). We asked for the materials and he claimed the material was already used and was not able to give us anything back (material was used not on our property). Finally, Felix said he would return $700. My dad kept calling Felix and leaving messages and no returned calls. Finally after a month I decide to call Felix on a Friday and ask for the $700. Felix said he would Zelle me on Tuesday. Tuesday came, no money. My husband called Felix that Tuesday and questioned the promised $700. Felix was so unprofessional and said "I just said I was going to deposit the money but I'm not. I Just said that, if you want me to return the money you pay me for the remainder of the work (an additional 2,400)". He was very childish and was talking over my husband and was shouting. I got on the phone and asked him why would he claim to Zelle the money to begin with. Felix' response "because I wanted to, I just said that" and started shouting very childish and unprofessional. I called Luis this morning about my front gate door needing to be replaced. He asked for my address which he wrote down on a piece of paper and told me he will come and look at my gate door and give me an estimate after 3 p.m. I waited until 4:30 p.m. and called him to see if he was still planning to come here. It appeared he probably forgot he was supposed to come to my house because he told me "you're the one who lives in Jefferson, right? When I told him I wasn't, he asked me to text him my address. I reminded him I had already given it to him this morning and he wrote it down. Then he said "oh yeah, you live at....." and I said that's my address. He then said he will come here between 5:30-6:00 pm, if that was alright. I told him it was fine. It is now 6:30 and he did not arrive. I won't be calling him again to ask if he's coming because if he was really serious about potential customers, he would have kept his initial appointment time, and if there was going to be any delays I should not have to call him and ask if he's still coming. If, by a stroke of luck, he does come, I might update this review. Right now I am very disappointed because the reviews I've read regarding this company and this person is not what I experienced today. Very unprofessional. Update: My 1 Star remains. We called this guy and scheduled a meeting with him at the shop he works out of. The scheduled meeting time was 6:30 PM (this was the time that he said he would be at the shop, not a time that we picked). He never showed up and did not respond to text messages (his voicemail inbox was full so we weren't able to leave a message). The next day he responded and came over to look at the security doors we needed work on and gave us an estimate on how much he would charge to replace screens on 3 doors. We decided to give him the job. He scheduled a starting time the next day @ 8AM. Next day at 8AM he didn't show up (traffic in LA is horrible during rush hour, so being 15 minutes late is not unheard of for anyone)! I sent him a text message at 8:15 to see if he was just delayed a bit, no reply. I called and left him a voicemail message at 8:30, no call back. Finally @ 9:30 I get a reply to the text message that he had left his phone at home and didn't know my address. We decided he wasn't worth the effort and probably wasn't going to be reliable if he couldn't figure out how to treat customers by making a simple phone call or replying to a text message!
