I had always believed that the San Gabriel Valley had the best massage places with the most value. I was wrong. Upland Massage is AMAZING. I had the 90 minute massage and during the experience I was a little afraid that I'd wake up the next morning with aches and pains. No worries to be had here; I woke up feeling lighter, limber, and loose. These women really work very hard kneading out the kinks and knots in the back, shoulder, and neck area. My favorite part was the calf massage. Ughhh...almost fell asleep. My only suggestion would be for the massagers to transition more gently between what they are moving on to on your body and try not to be affected by customers coming in. If they can fix this, they'll be golden. They give out stamp cards and mine will definitely be put to use! read more

Sad to say the person massaging me was the cashier. The experience was a horrible one to say the least. She walked out on me over 15 times and never got finished any body parts she got started. I feel like a total sucker! She charged me up front which kinda gave me a bad vibe from the start. I figured maybe she had a bad experience with a customer, but now I know the truth. If you read this don't get fooled by the good reviews. I was ready to leave 45 minutes into the massage and I should have just done that since I payed for 1 hour and 30 minutes. While I understand the price is good, I walked out exactly how I came in. Did not feel even the slightest difference. I felt I was jus being moved around, barely any pressure & it did not even really feel like a massage, more like someone jus rubbing your back most of the time. (Even after mentioning the problem area). They even started later and ended earlier then what it was suppose to be. Not to mention she left the room twice for a few mins each time. I got a massage yesterday and was not happy with my experience. The guy who gave me massage was not good . Barely gave any pressure . Didn't massage my feet. The massage table was very uncomfortable hurt my ribs and woke up with my right rib hurting also have a pinched nerve I didn't have before. The lights are left on bright and had a hard time relaxing. Needed a good massage. Made an appointment. Drove 35 minutes away. Husband and I were in separate rooms which we wanted. We did the $60 for 90 minutes(60 minutes body including hot stones, 30 minutes feet). The tall cashier woman lead my husband to a room and next to his was my room. Then she said one woman masseuse and one male, referring to me with the male. I said No. I would like a female. Sure enough the tall cashier woman was my masseuse. I have been in different Asian massage places and the American places where they cover the entire body from neck to feet. This place exposes your feet. She did put a pillow on your feet while on your tummy and later used it on your head when you're on your back . While she was massaging me, I heard a phone buzzed. I thought it was my phone but it was awfully close to my ears so I realized it was my masseuse's phone. After a minute or two of the buzzing she left the room with the door ajar. Came back to massage my back. Because she was also the cashier, I figured she was responsible in answering the phone because her phone buzzed again for the SECOND TIME! What the freak! One thing I appreciate about her is that she did asked how I was doing from the beginning of the massage. I was doing some deep breathing while she was working on my back just letting out carbon dioxide and breathing good oxygen. . My advice to her which i should have told her is to massage going up towards the heart for better circulation and not downward. She would start her massage going up then end it with massaging downward. Stroke direction does matter in massage. Massage should be performed in movements going towards the heart, because it helps your circulatory system return blood to your heart and lungs to be re-oxygenated. When it came to the 30 min feet massage, I was greeted with cold wet wipes. It startled me at first . Lol. Also there's much to be said when ending a massage. You need to prepare your client and slowly bring them in as you end the whole process. The massage ended it with a quick whish wipe on my heal and told me that it's done! Left the room with the towel on my eyes. Suggestion: when you make your client turn over on his/her back, offer a bolster and place it on the back of their knees. Less strain on the client's back. In the end I still gave her a tip but not as much if she truly had done a great job. Would i come back again ? Maybe? Maybe not? Verdict is still out... read more

I came across this business while desperately searching for a cheap massage nearby and I could not be more pleased with my experience here! I made an appt. on Saturday for first thing Sunday morning - the knots in my back were getting out of control! I was seen by Annie who literally changed my life (and body!). She spent the ENTIRE 90 minutes on my whole body, spending extra care and attention on my back. This massage was full body, and included hot stones and a foot massage for $40!! She went to the back to give me change but she automatically took 10 dollars for tip and gave me the other 10. I told them I was interested in the 90 minute special. They took me right away to a private room. I had the pleasure of having Annie as my massuse. AMAZING! She took her time and made sure the pressure was good for me. This was such a great experience and I will definitely be coming back here. The rooms are dark with soft music playing in the background, very serene. My mom and I both had the 90 minute whole body and foot massage and we were both absolutely pleased with the service. My advice to everyone is just to be very open and vocal about what you want in terms of pressure and your problem areas and they will accommodate your needs. If they're hurting you- tell them to ease up, if they're not applying enough pressure tell them you need more. Simple. Treat yourself and try them out! Yesterday, my sister, mom, and I went to Upland Massage because the yelp reviews were pretty good and it was close to our house. My mom got Coco, my sister some gentleman (which I didn't get the name), and I got Annie. My mom and sister really liked their massage, however I didn't really enjoy mine... Annie started off my massage in my upper back and did tell me to tell her if it was too hard. That was my mistake not saying anything. I was just taking the pain like a champ because I thought I needed the the deep tissue since I've been in pain for so long and honestly did not even know how deep tissue massage felt like. However, I woke up this morning extremely tender in my upper back, shoulder, and neck. It feels like I'm bruised and the slightest touch really hurts.. But, again... that was my fault for not saying anything.. The part that really upset me was when she got to my feet!! In he beginning it was a good amount of pressure and all of a sudden I felt like my infant was playing with my feet.. At first didn't think much of it, but it kept happening in intervals. So I let out a cough, and the pressure came back, then I wiggled my feet and the pressure came back... It got the a point I lifted my towel on my face to look over to find her falling asleep!!!!! Needless to say, I couldn't relax one bit.. I went in to hopefully massage my pain away and relax, but none of that happened. The only reason I'm not willing to go back to this place is because I felt like if I didn't give a $40 tip for the services my daughter and I received, they would have held us hostage. Don't get me wrong the massage was pretty good and the price is cheap. Perhaps I don't know how to tip. I tried to give a $10 tip for my massage and a $10 tip for my daughters but the man at the counter dang near made me feel like if I didn't give a $20 tip for both me and my daughters massage, we were going to have problems. Massage was okay a little too painful masseuse was using her elbow too much felt like an elbow was jabbing me the whole time, and I felt as I was tensing up more then relaxing. Also another thing I've never experienced at any other massage spot as soon as I walked out the room, 3 workers were standing at the exit asking for a tip, as I was writing the tip on the receipt the lady was looking at the receipt looking to see how much I tipped.. a tip shouldn't be asked for in my opinion I shouldn't have felt obligated to tip, it should be up to the person if they want to tip based off on the service. read more

Came here seeking a relaxing massage. What I got was 60 minutes of pain. The masseuse leaned her full weight on my spine using her sharp elbows even though I complained about the pain it was causing me. They barely use a kneading motion with their hands which would be much more relaxing but somehow that is not in their repertoire. I will return when they have a more balanced style in their massage. I have enough pain dealing with the daily life-let me relax for a change. read more

I very much enjoyed the attention to detail when adjusting various parts of the body and stretching or massaging based on what's needed, and in a way that can actually help your pain points feel better. I came in with soreness and aches throughout my whole body, and very bad shoulder pain.
