This is by far the WORST company I have EVER dealt with. My claim has been opened for over 1 month and 1/2 and my pool canister is STiLL leaking! They are complete frauds! They puts half ass aftermarket items that break within 6 months and had to replace twice in a year and they don't fix the issue the first time and close claims so you can keep paying for them to keep going out. Buyer, Beware of these Guys!! Do not hire!! The worst Pool Service company in the Inland Empire! My home warranty AHS hired them as a service provider to repair our pool heater. They never answer their phone, and technicians show up unannounced. The technician Tony that came out to asses our pool heater, was literally here for five minutes, took pictures of the inside, and left, telling me the damage was caused by rat droppings even though he could not tell me what was wrong and never ran any diagnostics. Their true intention is to ensure your insurance denies the service claim so that they get paid and are pushed up to the top of the AHS insurance service list. One of their old employees told me that AHS incentivizes services providers like Upland Pools to reduce costs and deny claims to save costs by the regional AHS leader in the Inland Empire area. AHS and Upland Pools have intentionally forgotten about placing the paying customer first, which will result in no company growth and loss with repeat and new customers, versus putting cost savings first, resulting in lost customers for life. I had to file a complaint with AHS to get a second-opinion service provider out there who fixed our issue within 30 minutes, replacing two failed sensors. Buyer, Beware of these Guys!! read more

If you are opening a claim with American Home Shield and this company is attached to your claim, deny this pool company and ask for another one. The technician told me that he would recommend another pool heater due to my pool heater being to old and no parts would be found. He also stated the coils were worn out due to age. But when AHS called me denying my claim, the report read that the pool heater is not working due to 'secondary reasons not covered by AHS". They said the technician wrote that the pool heater was worn out due to "harsh and unsafe chemicals being stored near the pool heater" which was NEVER discussed. The only chemicals I have are liquid chlorine and chlorine tablets that are stored in the 'ventilated' pool shed with NO roof over the pool heater. This company will tell you one thing and write a false report to the home warranty company just so they wouldn't have to pay out the claim. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE I called AHS (a 9-year-old policyholder) because my pool filter was leaking. Tech came out and said he needed parts. Came back a week later and started working on the pool filter. Said he fixed one thing and needed to fix another, but the part had to be approved. Then, the tech reported it was not normal wear and tear, and the claim was closed. The filter is worse than before, and I cannot get a response or a copy of the report. They don't even answer their phone. Make sure that you do not use this pool company. We will go after them; they took responsibility for the repair of the filter when they opened up and physically worked on our pool filter. They should have never touched the equipment if they couldn't do the job or complete the repair. read more

I at first did not want to believe the negative reviews, but I will attest, they are all 110% true! Very unprofessional and lacks communication. Did not even offer the courtesy of responding to my several requests to communicate. Their technician, Christian was terrible in communicating and had the audacity of taking $30 cash from me with his sob story and solicited pool cleaning service for himself on the side. He kept telling me his boss would reach out but never did. I followed up several times and was trying to be patient, but no communication, and a big waste of money and time! Lacks business professionalism and would never recommend any homeowner that values their time and simply wants their pool equipment issue resolved. These are the best pool service technicians in the entire inland Empire (I'm in Redlands). Before I remembered I had warranty coverage (which this company does the work for), I had multiple pool service technicians tell me there are no parts anymore for my 20 y.o. equipment and I needed partial (heater) or entirely new ("corrosion" etc. etc) pool equipment costing between $4500-$13,000. Upland Pool Supply's technicians quickly determined that the problem was not with the equipment (no corrosion!), but with my gas line, which we were quickly able to remedy at relatively low cost. I will only use Upland pool supply in the future! Knowledgeable, Polite, friendly, quick to respond. (Don't judge them for their youth! - 2 different young technicians came out & both quicker, smarter than others 1 or 2 gens older). If there was a way to leave less than 1 star I would! AHS sent them to me several times for pool repairs and they are the worst!!! I had one of their techs tell me that it wasn't covered but he could fix it for cash. Turns out it was covered and Upland was supposed to give me the money they took and they would never answer my calls again regarding the return. Then they came back for a pump and it's been a week and NOTHING! Pool is now green and I am getting my regular pool guy to fix it and take the hit. Do not use them! They do not answer calls or texts. We were set up with them via our home warranty company. They came out for our spa (above ground) that was not working. The person said it was an electrical issue with the breaker box after about 5 minutes of looking around. He didn't open the spa. It was not the electrical box. He came back out and this time he actually opened it up. Looked around for about 5 minutes and said it was a relay. It was not a relay. The person who came to my house was courteous but he knew nothing about above ground spas and that is obvious. Why would they claim to know and take jobs? Wasted my time. read more

I had pool pump issues and the tech they sent out had no clue what he was doing. He broke the filter psi and then pretended like it was already broken. Then he broke the float valve and said it was broken. He tried to service the pool pump by lubing the o-rings thinking it would fix the loud noise. Do not hire this company to service your pool. I made a claim on my home warranty company (American Home Shield) for a saltwater cell. However, Eddie Ramirez from Upland Pool reported the problem as a "leaky chlorinator". My pool is a saltwater pool with a chlorine generator, otherwise known as a saltwater cell; NOT the same as a chlorinator that one would use in a freshwater pool. My policy doesn't cover chlorinators, but clearly does cover "saltwater cell and circuit board". The representatives from both Upland and the warranty company have refused to acknowledge this distinction, and honor the contract. I have made a claim to the California Dept. of Insurance, and will litigate for breach of contract. Upland Pool Supply and American Home Shield are not reputable companies in my opinion. They found the issue right away and replaced my heater under my old republic home warranty plan, as is what I was told by multiple pool companies except for this one who said "no failures its working great" lol I'm spending 1200 a month in heating bills to get my pool to maybe 70 degrees and these jokers say nothing wrong w it. Do not let American Home Shield Warranty send UPLAND POOL SUPPLY out for any pool/spa repairs. I had what should have been an easy pool repair. The pool timer clock on the control center would get stuck and not turn on the pool cleaning pump. The system could be cycled on manually by rotating the clock past the start point and shut off the same way by rotating past the stop point. Uplands tech came out to repair on a Monday when I was not there to replace the timer. When I came home on Wednesday the pool pump was running continuously. I called AHS to let them know the system was still not working and they sent them back out. The tech was there for about 10 minutes and told me the switch is good and the next step to fix it was to change the circuit board. I told him that what he was saying didn't make any sense as the system still could be cycled manually and the only problem was the timer. He said he would check with his supervisor and come back next week. When he didn't come back next week I called AHS and told them that the item was still not fixed and they called the company and sent the same tech back out. When he came out he didn't do much of anything and still said the problem was the circuit board and it was not covered by AHS. I told him I would call AHS to discuss it with them. When I called AHS I told them the problem was still the same the tech did not understand the pool controls and I'd prefer that they not send this company back out and that they refer it out to another company. AHS tried to send another company and was going to charge me another $75 fee for the repair for a 2nd opinion. A couple of companies called but did not want to do repairs on a pool timer and the same tech from Upland Pool Supply was there for the fourth time. I asked him if he had a new timer and he said the company would not send out a new timer. He tried the same line that a new circuit board would be the next step. I asked that he open up the cabinet to look at the timer and the connections. He started to open the cabinet but did not and said he was going to have to leave. After he left I open the control cabinet and found that the power supply for the time was 120V and that the timer was a 208-277V timer. I searched online for the right timer and found one for less than 40$. I changed the timer and the system works fine now. I have attached pictures of the power supply, meter reading of the power line, the 240 V timer provided by Upland Pool Supply and the new 125 V timer. read more

Had the pool guy come over. Marty. What a guy . Old republic sent him over for the pool heater which sounds like it's gonna blow up after it runs for a while. Marty talked to me about his wealthy wife, grand kid but didn't really pay much attention to the heater. Didn't even get the model serial number from the box. Left me no paperwork (dept of consumer affairs to be notified next) and told me old republic doesn't replace anything ever, all they do is depreciate the appliance until there's nothing left to pay out (which isn't accurate according to the written contract I actually read). Stayed less than 20 min and said nope nothing wrong and left. No mask on his face and hand shaking - zero care about Covid or protecting me and my kids. While my kids were working on the yard he's telling them about not leaving any leaves on the ground cuz he ain't young like me and will trip - where do you come from telling my kids what to do? FIX MY HEATER. Also first pool repair guy I've seen in a scion. Said "I give you 15 min then I leave" why do you show up? Why not give my notice you coming so I can power up the heater? He checked and diagnosed my system, found possible defect in pump housing, disassembled pump assembly, checked parts and found a crack in pump diffuser, he then ordered and picked up part locally. Assembled pool pump, started and checked for leaks and then verified repairs made. Sergio is a blessing for any home warranty owner. Kudos on everything he did. read more

AHS is my home warranty company and sent out Upland Pool supply to my home. The tech was not listening to what i was explaining to him. Kept on saying my pool is to big for a small heater. I've must of told him like 5 times... The heater is only for my JACUZZI not this big pool. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. My pool filter started leaking and I contacted my home warranty. American home shield then sent a technician from upland pool supply. He showed up and as soon as he saw my filter he mentioned it was covered by the warranty. He then stated someone would contact me in a few days to come out and replace it. Not once did he turn on the pool system or did anything else. A couple of days go by and no one contacted me. I called my Home warranty just to find out the technician had wrote in his notes that my pool filter was reading 35psi and that the cracks weren't due to normal wear and tear. This filter is over 10 years old. Due to his notes my home warranty denied the replacement. It's sad to know that there are people out there just screwing people. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! If I could give no stars I would. First the tech who came out Christian did not run any test and did not do anything to check what was wrong with heater or our pool filter. He came with a small pouch of a few tools. He stayed maybe 10 minutes. Before he left I asked him what did he find. He said "oh the heater needs to be replaced and pool filter, but he did not say anything about the reason it should be replaced or why he came to that conclusion. He then said American Home Shield will contact me. No one contacted me so I called AHS and they said the report by Christian the tech claimed it was high chlorine and low ph balance that caused damage to heater and pool filter. Christian NEVER tested our pool water nor checked anything. Also if he tested it he would have told me when I asked him what was the problem but he never said anything because he never did a test. I told AHS but they really do not care about who they use as long as the company they send out is saving them money by making fraudulent reports. I called owner Joel Nunez but voice mails full and no return call. When I text if he did not return my call I would file a complaint with the California Licensing Board. He then texted me and asked for my address. I texted him back said please call me and I will give my address and tell you of the problem, but he NEVER called or text me back. I gave him from Thursday until Monday to call before I filled complaint with licensing board. I am going to make sure the licensing board knows that he is allowing techs to file false reports and that is why he never calls customers back. He continues to get business from the insurance company and the insurance company saves money on fixing equipment. It is only the customer that gets an unfair deal. PS I also text Christian the tech, he asked who it was I told him, but when I texted him again he would not text me back. This is because he knows he wrote a fraudulent report. read more

STAY AWAY !.. NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY !! They were assigned to me thru my home warranty company AHS. The ordeal went on for months.. they kept cancelling appointments the morning of the appointment after waiting weeks for them to show up. Each time a different technician showed up. The first guy hooked up the electrical connection wrong and I had to hire an electrician to fix what they had done at my own expense. Then they installed the cheapest pool motor available. After months of problems I hired a reputable pool company to come over to check what was the problem. The tech said the wrong motor was installed and we called Upland Pool and he talked to them and explained the problem. They said the would check with the supervisor but it was still under warranty. I received a text from the supervisor saying the motor was fine and they won't replace it, without ever inspecting the motor ot talking with me or the tech. Now I have to try and get AHS to help me or get a lawyer and go to small claims court to try and remedy this problem. Please stay away form UPLAND POOL at all costs !! read more

This company is very dishonest. one of their technicians christian replaced my old pool heater for a new one on june 2022. I was re-assured that the heater was in good condition and it was going to work. About a month later I found out that gas was leaking. The smell was very intense. I never had that problem before. I called the company again, they sent the technician again. I was re- assure again that it should work now and that the unit was in good condition. This problem was never solved, I have been with the useless pool heater since 2022 . I contacted ahs insurance several times since they were the ones sending this company to do the job. finally, I got a second opinion from another pool service company and I was told that the heater that was installed was not going to work with my gas lines because they installed a 400 btu pool heater instead of a 200 btu , which it was what i had previously. I have been trough so much stress. This company re-assured me several times that their job was done up to code and was working properly. Now, "2024" they admitted that the pool water heater needs new gas plumbing. They only recognized this 2 years after. They now recommend that I change my gas pluming out of my package. The only way to fix this error is to downgrade the pool heater back to 200' s btu or to change the gas line. Of course, they refuse to refund the money or to correct their ineffective job. This company is dishonest and thieves. This is called stealing they got paid from ahs insurance for an ineffective job. The technician should had considered my current gas line before any instalation. read more

They came to check my pool heater that was 20 years old which had a leak due to AGE . He was sent through home warranty and he reported a bad pool heat due to corrosion. They also related the corrosion to chemical imbalance of pool water and home warranty declined the claim. So I was not sure why they would report it that way ! I come to find out that home warranty does not pay them enough to perform the work ( changing out the heater ) so they they find a way to get claim denied so that they don't have to do the work through home warranty instead more than like there is a chance home owner may pay them direct to do the replacement of heater which would be more then what home warranty pays . This company came out to diagnose my pool heater under a warranty claim with American home shield. The technician specifically told me to circuit boards were broken due to wear and tear. He also mentioned a single wire that appeared Jude by a rodent. Guess what? Claim was denied due to one faulty appearing wire. As you can see from multiple other reviews about this company, this is essentially a scam operation focused on denying every claim possible for the most absurd reasons while taking your money. In addition, they are terribly unresponsive. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company and do not use American home shield warranty service either.
