Fantastic trail for walking, riding a longboard, biking etc. I come here often when the weather is nice to spend some time outside in nature. Very pretty trail and it is not often busy, I recommend starting near citrus park mall and walking over the pedestrian bridge, if you keep going that way you eventually hit the bridge seen in my picture. It is a nice spot, there are a few more bridges and if you take a right at the end of this bridge shown, it will take you to the end of the trail. It's about 7 miles round trip if you start from the mall and go to the end. read more

Pretty, well kept hiking and biking trail open from dawn till dusk with multiple parking lots and entry points all around Citrus Park and Town & Country! Bring your exact change or credit card for the $2 per vehicle fee, good for the entire day. Public restrooms reside along Waters Ave and Linebaugh. Water stations filled with icy cold water are every couple miles along the paths. If you feel like sitting and taking in mother nature, park benches and picnic tables are also along the trails. While you stroll along the river, look for jumping fish and floating manatees. read more

Came for a morning walk with friends . $2.00 per car to park for the day. The trailhead is maintained nicely with shade, benches, facilities, water jugs to refill your bottle, bowls for your fur baby, bike racks, etc. Throughout the trail you will find benches, trash cans , etc. The trail is wide and paved allowing non motorized transportation. Being a Sunday it was busy, yet we had plenty of room . People were friendly. When we happened upon an alligator crossing I was thrilled there were none to be found. There are different paths to take so keep an eye out for where you are going. We walked 3 miles out then just turned around and walked back. read more

Im fairly new to running trails and I'm just wondering why it took me so long to finally explore this one. Being outside is always refreshing but just walking / running through a beautiful nature trail is a totally different experience. I usually enter the trail from citrus park area and run down to linebaugh ave. The trail is pretty wide so you don't have to worry about being so close to other people. There are also plenty of bike riders who usually ride on this trail as well. It really is so peaceful and most of the people on the trail are usually pretty friendly . I highly recommend checking this trail out if you want to just connect with nature and enjoy some outside time. read more

This is a nice, albeit short at only 7 miles, mixed urban/rural multi-purpose trail. The trail is generally very wide allowing bikes, hikers, long-boarders, and roller skaters. The path is well maintained, and has a better than normal amount of benches scattered throughout for stops. Several also have a picnic table or two. It also passes through the Upper Tampa Bay Park which had restrooms, picnic tables, benches and open grassy space. The path is generally flat, but the are periods of slow incline/declines and three underpasses where the path narrows and there are steeper slopes. This is an easy bike/walk route. The route currently terminates in the North right around Westfield Citrus Mall, and in the South ends a bit North of West Hillsborough Avenue near Alonso High School, and follows Rocky Creek. There are several access points throughout, and also several parking spots, some are metered, some are not. Overall, a nice quite trail in the middle of mostly urban areas with enough buffer in most areas to keep it quiet except for the Northern last 2 miles. read more

I went for a walk here with my friend at the Wilsky entrance. Tip: the Wilsky entrance is more scenic with water running through it and lots of trees. Although I'm closer to the entrance on Waters, I drive the extra 5 mins to get to Wilsky. You have to pay $2 to park for the day. We did about a mile and a half. It has tons of paved road for biking, walking, or jogging and also benches and tables along the trail as well. It's very clean and very nice and quiet. Definitely better to go early evening or early morning if you bring some bug repellent because the mosquitoes are NASTY! read more

The "bay" in Upper Tampa Bay trail is a misnomer. Of the 19 miles pedaled today, maybe 4 were near streams, channel or ponds. Starting at Channel Park you encounter a detour, allegedly until January 2019. Thus puts you on the road or sidewalk for 2 miles, breathing exhaust. Many busy intersections to cross with heavy traffic beyond the detour. The good-you are outside, the path is wide, well maintained and shady with little traffic this Sunday. Bike shops for repairs are available, as is cold water, benches and eateries, such ad Ballyhoo. The bad-previously mentioned detour and trail signs which are all with fading print. This is basically the last trailhead on the South end of the trail... and a nice shaded area to stop and rest for a bit if needed. The Park Dept keeps the water jug full of nice, cold water... and there are bike racks and some benches. Hopefully one of these days, the trail will get extended both further south and further north... and let you do some really long rides. read more

Wonderful trail and in my opinion the best in Tampa Bay. Running from bottom near Alonso High School and Montague all the way the up to Peterson Park. Cycling at a good pace I can get 15 miles in roundtrip which is alot more fun then a treadmill at my gym. Beautifully kept, my hat really goes off to the maintenance crew that maintains the trail. I always make a point to wave at the guys in their ATV's as I really appreciate the work they do to provide such an enjoyable trail. When my gym closed as a result of Covid, this trail became my gym. That said, for cardio, I'm never stepping foot in a gym again! read more

I visit this trail almost every weekend. Plenty of uninterrupted paved trail to walk for hours. The park staff keep the water stations full and ice cold but bring a water bottle because it can take a while to get there. Surprisingly, I always see wildlife despite the area being quite busy. I often see cardinals and grasshoppers, I've also seen manatees, turtles and bunnies. There is plenty of parking and if you don't have the $2 on you to park at the main entrance, you can always go to one of the other parking areas and park for free. The only thing that makes this trail less than perfect is that on windy days it can really smell like garbage or poop. If the wind blows in the wrong direction, you can really smell the garbage dump or the waste water treatment plant that the trail runs past. read more

A 16 mile round trip. One would think that a sixteen-mile long road would be a hard thing to hide. The Upper Tampa Bay Trail is a paved recreational trail that has first class facilities and beautiful scenery. You would think that my sister that leaves very close to this area would have known about it, but she admits not being too all over "active life". This is a fantastic trail! Great views, easy ride, cold water along the way and easy access from several places. It's suppose to eventually connect to the Sun Coast Trail, a 40 mile trail and goes along the freeway. I still have to try that one. Give this one a try, it is a worth drive from Orlando! read more
