This place have one of the worse delivery drivers and he's very dishonest. This man lies about numerous attempts made for delivery, yet he never leaves any delivery attempt notices, I have a buzzer downstairs which he never rings, and I also have a ring camera on my front door. I've contacted UPS call center numerous times and they haven't rectified the problem yet and this man still hasn't delivered my packages. If I could rate zero stars, I would. The employees definitely steal from this location! I ordered maternity clothing for an event that was stolen. I was told by a supervisor that my package would for sure be delivered by a certain day, and that the driver initially missed my drop off, and that he didn't feel like coming back to me. I waited until the next day as asked to do by the supervisor and now it's been a week. Still no package. I'm pretty sure the driver just took my package and management at this location is in on it. Just a warning if your dealing with UPS. If you could pick someone else to ship, do it. I feel bad, because the clerk here was great. Very honest and transparent. I was essentially referred to a supervisor who pretty much told me I couldn't get my package because my name wasn't on it. Which honestly makes sense, however there own customer service gave me instructions how to receive my packages. Like many other organization, the phone tech support does not align with in-person tech support. We were able to find a solution to my problem. They agreed to hold my package to come back later with an id. Cool great, this might work. Sadly I get a phone call tonight telling me it was already sent out. What really upsets me, is that I was on the phone with them for an hour, then I traveled to the location, sat there for about an hour. Not to mention I had to drive there. I need someone to tell me how 3 out of 7 of my packages were found to be lost after investigation. They all came from this facility even though I live in Manhattan. Even on the phone, the people from this location come across as very unprofessional, and lacking training and knowledge on what they say. UPS is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They won't let you speak to an actual person- I tried for over 3 hours calling, messenger and online chat and ABSOLUTELY NO Help. They disconnected me, or stopped answering me when they didn't know what to say and asked me the same things over and over again. I can seriously say I hate them. This is the 2nd time I needed something there overnight- paid extra and still nothing. The 1st time it was over 2 days past the next day- and my daughter's medication she needed was in there- no refund, no apology- just oops! Again it was supposed to be delivered this morning and it has been in the same center since 1:30 with no updates and it's 7:40pm. I will never use them again. Fed Ex is a little more expensive but at least they deliver when they say- they are who I will use for personal and business from now on. UPS has horrific non-existent customer service. Took a bike here to ship. About a 30 minute drive. When I got there they told me the guy who works the desk is out all week. How can an actual UPS location (not a franchised shop) not have a person to receive shipments? Ridiculous. I'm giving one star because I have to. I have been promised to receive a package every day since Tuesday, it is now Tuesday the following week and still do not have it in hand. After multiple times of the driver not ringing our door bell but claiming they "missed" us, we requested to have the package delivered directly to an access point. After an inordinate amount of time and hassle, we finally got them to agree. That promise has still yet to be met, however, as the delivery date continues to be "tomorrow" day after day. I question if they even still have this package on hand. Amazon manages to juggle a product platform, their own line of tech, market expansion, AND delivering products in a quick, reliable manner with top customer service. All UPS needs to do is ship, why are they continuing to get business when that clearly can't be done? At least not by this center. I am writing on here (which is my first time ever) because I feel like there is no where else to go since calls to customer service have been fruitless. I would give UPS a zero if I could. They are more expensive than USPS and not nearly as good. I was guaranteed a delivery that should have occurred 3 days ago by the end of the business day and now the update is saying tomorrow by 7 PM. That will make it a total of 6 days. I also said I wanted to have a signature guarantee and that it needed to be delivered by the end of the business day since this was a business with banker's hours. All the person at UPS could say is "don't worry, it will be delivered in 2 days by the end of the business day" I could barely understand him and obviously he thought I was too stupid to understand him. He's right I was as stupid as it comes to use UPS. They go on and on about a claim. This is crucial original paperwork. A claim for money has nothing to do with it. I've called customer service (supposedly where you can talk to a person) and only gotten the automated system that can't understand the tracking number, can't understand the issue and then tells you to call back when you have this information and hangs up. This happened 3 times. I will never use UPS again and I would advise anyone else considering sending something via UPS to use the postal service instead as they are not only MUCH more reliable, they are less expensive as well. read more

I was initially skeptical walking into the Custom Service Center after reading several reviews but I was more than pleasantly surprised by how well I was treated by Raphael and Will after trying to locate a package that was not delivered to my work earlier that morning. These two made every effort to work with me to see where the package might be and give their best judgement of what time I would be able to pick-it up. Before leaving, they took one last look through the warehouse and by being thorough and talking to the drivers, they were able to locate that package so I could walk away with it right there! I also learned that while it says they close their offices at 6PM, they actaully re-open from 6:30-8PM for pick-up of any packages that are being returned by the drivers. When I called I was spoken to incredibly rudely (the man talking to me spoke to me like I was a child) and told my only option was to come pick up the package, which is not really possible for me with my work hours. I'd ordered some contact lenses on the internet. As it happened, I was not home to receive them. UPS, the vendor's chosen delivery service, was fully committed to making it appear like they wanted to deliver my package while doing everything in their power to withhold it. Fortunately, OR SO I THOUGHT, their website allows you to provide alternative delivery instructions. Assuming full liability for my package, I typed: NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. LEAVE PACKAGE BY DOOR. And then I pressed Send. Subsequent events indicate that my message wasn't delivered either. Next evening after work, haggard me comes home to receive the reviled Final Delivery Notice without a trace of package in sight. The UPS Customer Call Center explained that drivers can drop off packages -- but only if they want to ... leaving open a whole world of delivery scenarios where drivers simply don't want to. And my driver simply didn't want to. I gently reminded my Call Center representative that he was employed by a Customer Service Call Center, not a Driver Service Call Center. I reasoned thusly: "If the driver had managed to stand on my doormat and hold the package, he could just as easily stand on my doormat and drop the package. This is in fact how deliveries happen." Three days, four hours of phone calls, and two supervisors later yielded plenty of high-pitched squeals - and no package. Twice they offered to tell the driver to follow my instructions: a departure from policy that was nakedly characterized as a special favor. In the end, however, the driver persisted in exercising his personal discretion and withheld my package. My doormat was never to know the warmth of that cardboard box, only the grime from the delivery man's shoes. Ransom was demanded in the form of a visit to the UPS Customer Service Center. In the Bronx. Which is so convenient, as at the time I was living 34587394567 miles away in Manhattan, three subway lines and 1,000 yards of razor wire away. Between the Customer Friendly hours of Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm, because New Yorker office workers still get off work at 5pm, like it's 1958. Rescuing my package meant several hundred dollars in lost freelance fees. Relinquishing my package meant several hundred dollars in lost corrective eyewear. Buck for buck, the decisions were about the same. But there was the small matter of my pride, coupled with a loud burst of entitlement. So, off to the Bronx I went ... Upon arrival there were NO CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS. And when one finally popped into view like the drugged out smoking lady Patsy from Ab Fab, he told me it was a good thing I'd showed up when I did, as it was the LAST DAY they would ever allow customers to pick up packages again. ??? As another reviewer points out, the issue is less with the physical Customer Service Center location and more with the company's policies and overall service practices. Accessibility and convenience are the purposes of utilizing courier services as a means to ship and receive products. UPS is great for office purposes because there's always someone at work to sign for an item. But for home, especially in NYC apartments without doormen, you either miss the delivery attempts because the delivery man arrives at random hours or end up leaving work early and waiting around for hours, only to realize the delivery man never came. You cannot schedule a specific time or figure out their route so you can estimate a time to be home. The genreal attitude is "I don't care." In the end, rather than getting an item at home, you'll have to go to a call center located far away in a warehouse area on a weekday, even if their policies could be made more flexible. Even if you call ahead, you arrive and will likely wait and wait and wait while they search for your package. It's even more irritating if you live in Manhattan and you don't have a car. The pick-up site for truck deliveries is a place in the South Bronx in the warehouse area by the Grand Concourse, which is always scary to walk around late evening, especially if you're a girl, unfamiliar with the area, and it's dark. The people working there do make an effort to be helpful but they themselves are overstretched, overworked, and are tied up by company policies, which aren't client friendly or organized. The whole policy is counterproductive. The client is forced to spend over $30 on shipping directly to their home, only to have to trek out ot the bronx to lug a really heavy box home on the subway. If that was the case, why bother with delivery-to-home delivery service? I've had better experieces with FedEx, especially for missed delivery attempts Fedex is much more organized, even in the way their hold centers manage packages for pick-up. You go in. You show id and the missed attempts notice. In less than five minutes you have your package. At UPS, you wait for at least half an hour or more. If you do have to rely on UPS for shipping, use a nearby UPS shipping/receiving center to receive your package (check with them first to see if you can mail your UPS package there...not all UPS centers receive shipments for customers). It'll save you the emotional see saw of "Did my package come? Did the super sign and take it in for me? Did my neighbor sign for me and take it in for me? Where is the "delivery attempt" notification slip?" and all the lurking about at home waiting and waiting and waiting for hours on end for Mr No Show, so that by the time you haul your ass to the 138th Street UPS center, your anger is no longer even managed and you're just furious and obsessed. read more

I pretty much hope the entire corporate entity known as UPS dies in a fucking fire (not the people...that wouldn't be nice). I caught an error where UPS didn't have my apartment number within the HOUR that it was entered into tracking. A quick phone call didn't help, since the seller has to change the address. A quick phone call from the SELLER didn't help either, since UPS won't make a 2nd attempt in the same day. My package was probably still in the neighborhood when all of this went down!! OKKKKK, so a day goes by. Attempt 2, failed, because they show up at 4pm when I'm still at work. I told them the day prior that my roommate would be there before 3. They said it's policy they cannot "schedule" deliveries, giving only a window period of 9am to 7pm. Who comes up with this shit?! This is a RESIDENCE and most people work during the day. I'd even PAY EXTRA for a more convenient delivery time. You know, maybe past 5pm?!?!?! I asked about Saturday delivery, but they threw around the 'policy' word again, saying UPS Ground deliveries can't be "reclassified" for Saturday delivery. Basically you have to either have packages shipped to your office, which wasn't possible since it's over 100lbs in my case, ORRR have a doorman (wouldn't that be nice), ORRRR pick up your package (what's the point?), ORRRR stay home from work all fucking day to get your shit. Ding ding ding! Winner! UPS=FAIL. I've never been so fucking aggravated at a service in my life. If the driver doesn't show up today I'm seriously going to lose my shit. What. a. night. mare. I don't even know where to begin. This review isn't about this customer service location specifically, though perhaps it is a review of their drivers? All I know is my package leaves here every morning and returns here every night. On Tuesday, I saw my package was being delivered two days early. Awesome! I was at work, so I called my roommate. Girl, you home? She was, all day, and was happy to buzz in the UPS delivery folks so I could finally have dressers in my new place and stop storing my unmentionables in shopping bags. I refreshed the tracking page a few times at work, then saw something startling - a delivery "attempt" had been made. Whhaaaaat?! I texted my roommate - did you go out? She hadn't. She was still at home, still waiting, and the buzzer had never rung. When I got home that evening, I noticed there was no missed delivery slip. So, that's weird. I attempted to chat with UPS online customer service, but that was an unmitigated disaster that mostly wasted my time and distracted me from the Christmas movie I was watching. Oh well, whatever, I can sign up for their stupid account and request a different delivery date. Except, wait, I can't because I keep getting an error and the chat person is actually just ignoring me when I bring this up! Fantastic. The following day, as I sat in the lunchroom of a NYC public school, waiting to guest teach, I received a call from a very disgruntled UPS employee who tells me they are trying again today. I mention the fact that nobody actually tried to deliver it the day before, and she said they'd at least leave a missed delivery slip that day (since I wasn't going to be home). Of course, when I got home that evening, there was no such slip. I called the general UPS customer service line, and begged them to just deliver it to the UPS store down the street from me. Apparently I need an account to do that. I explained that I was receiving error messages when I attempted to sign up, and this again was just blatantly ignored. I also explained my hesitation to take time off of work to wait for the package, since I didn't really have faith they'd genuinely try to deliver it. My guess is they won't deliver it, and my dressers will either be returned to the store I bought them from (and god only knows what will happen to the money I spent on them at that point), or I'll call and have them held at the location in the Bronx. You know, that super safe and convenient spot with terrible hours super fucking far from most of the people in a city where no one drives. I shouldn't have even had them delivered, if I wanted to lug this shit on the subway I could have just GONE TO THE STORE. read more

So on top of paying shipping, I'm supposed to pay extra to have it actually delivered? Seems like "shipping" means "shipping to you" not "shipping to your general city and then holding your package and treating you like garbage." Living in upper Manhattan, and this is my UPS location? Some hole in BFE on the 4 train? If I had the time to take 4 hours to go pick up my package, I'd have gone to the store. On top of that, they were supposed to call "within the hour" (according to main UPS number). Call over an hour later, at 5:59p (and they close at 6p, how convenient). Phone rings once so I miss it. Also convenient. I call back within 5 seconds and no response (or any of the next 20 times I call). Hm. They call when I'm BACK on the phone with UPS and hang up as soon as I answer. It's almost like they don't want to actually do any work! Naw that can't be it. I guess people who work at a UPS store ARE pretty smart! No wait. The opposite of that. I bought a new monitor at my local Best Buy, but the monitor is too low and doesn't have height adjustment, my neck started to hurt. So, I ordered a monitor arm from an online company in California since they are 2-3 times less expensive than other monitor arms of the same quality. They shipped the box on a Monday via UPS Ground with a 'guarantee' of Friday. Friday rolls by and the UPS tracking status says that my package arrived in NYC, but was not out for delivery. So at around noon I call UPS and they tell me that even though its not on their website, my package is out for delivery. So I wait, and wait and wait. At 7 pm I call UPS and they state that they can deliver until 9 pm or even 10 pm to residences. No package ever arrives. UPS Ground doesn't deliver packages on Sat / Sun. I wait for Monday. The tracking status on Monday says that the package is out for delivery. I eat breakfast and go to the gym and am home by 12:30 pm. I eat lunch, make a few phone calls, clean my bathroom... no package. At 3:30ish I track my package "2:23 P.M. The customer was not available on the 1st attempt. A 2nd attempt will be made." WTF? I go downstairs (my building doesn't have a doorman, but the buzzer works just fine...!) and there isn't a package, nor is there an 'info notice'. I call UPS and speak to a rep and ask why no actual delivery attempt was made. They tell me have no idea, but they can have the center hold it for me for pick-up. I ask if them if I have to go to the Bronx? They say, no, its going to their Manhattan location and someone from the UPS center will call me within the hour, I verify my cell number. One hour and a half later (5 pm), no call. I call UPS again and they tell me that the rep took my number incorrectly. I re-verified my number and they said they would have the center call me. 20 minutes later, the center calls me, and states that they will contact the driver to see if I can meet him along his route to get my package so I don't have to go to the Bronx. Wait, what? I thought that the package was going to the Manhattan location? No, I'd have to trek to the south Bronx to pick it up. The center said they would call me back in a few minutes to see if I can meet up with the driver. An hour and twenty-five minutes later (6:25 pm), no phone call. I call UPS yet AGAIN and ask them why I wasn't called, and they responded that I would be called within the hour. At around 6:53 pm the center calls me back stating that the driver is 'exerting his right' to not meet me on his route and that they could have the package held in the Bronx or have to redelivered tomorrow. I asked to have it redelivered and left if no one answers the buzzer. At the moment, I still have: No monitor arm, lots of frustration, hours (which add to days) of wasted time, and my neck still hurts from being angled downwards for hours at a time. read more

No notice slip) with an online "delivery attempted" notice and 4 phone calls, 3 of which we were promised a call back (only got 1 call back on the last one, an hour later than promised), we were pretty fed up with UPS, and didn't expect the redelivery attempt to be attempted either. But then there was Ramón. Ramón came within the estimated 4hour delivery window. Ramón rang the buzzer for our apartment. Ramón delivered our package. Basically, he did his job. We learned that dispatchers don't have assigned areas, so the nameless non-deliverer could strike anywhere in the NYC area, really. Which means that using UPS might still screw you over. Oh if I pay an extra $40 for Premium My Choice membership. I ALREADY PAID FOR THE SHIPPING! WHY ARE YOU GOUGING ME STILL?! So I call to have my package held. It's already on its way back to the sender. Nothing more can be done other than to have to sender reship it. Bullshit. It's on one of their trucks! I had to call my bank, then the check vendor, then UPS to find out what was going on. But back to this location. I remember going with a friend to pick up a package here a few years ago and being really freaked out by the whole abandoned warehouse/empty streets in scaryville vibe. Is that abandoned roller rink still there, too? That was creepy. So, now I am dreading going out for my pickup and seeing if I can manage to do it without being mugged or worse. That is, of course, if the UPS agent actually calls me back to schedule it, and I already have my doubts. Also, though I live way uptown, I do actually live in Manhattan, not the Bronx. The front desk guy, is SLOW and doesn't really seem to care if there's a LONG line because he is so dam slow. They need a more efficient way of handling pickups and drop offs or even hire someone to help him!!! Let's do it. I ordered from a few different places with mixed results. Surprisingly, Sephora was what brought me here. They shipped it UPS. I figured it would go through the regular mail, as most of the other orders did. UPS also said they tried to deliver it three times... which I know is not true. At most, they came twice. I'm not even sure if I can afford them that benefit of the doubt. They also don't tell you where the package is going- you have to call some phone number to check. THAT? Is super annoying. I don't want to call you. You can print on your stupid little postcard where I need to go. Turns out? It was in the south Bronx. You know, same subway stop where I used to work. ALWAYS A FUN TIME OUT THERE! I guess it was good, because I was familiar with the area and knew right where go to. But their hours suck. 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM? That is, of course, right when I needed to be at work. So I asked if I could take a half hour and pick up my package and they agreed. So I go, hoping of course they'll open early. To their credit, they did. Five minutes early. But it was a cluster f@%^ in there. There was like five of us waiting? They man who was there had NO IDEA what he was doing. Of course the first woman is someone who can't speak English who hand wrote an incorrect tracking number on a piece of notebook paper. Instead of telling the woman to wait or that he couldn't help her or whatever, he spends a good 7-8 minutes hunting and pecking on a keyboard BEFORE telling her that. It was super ridiculous. He did let me skip the line when he asked for "pick ups." Me and another guy were the easy ones, I guess. He left, and another guy came in to help people. He started swearing because the first guy hadn't turned anything on. When the dude came back, they openly fought. It was super unprofessional. I was probably there for 15 minutes after they opened and got my package. I can't give them the most horrible rating, because that's somewhat okay service. The hours? Bad. The location? Not a place anyone wants to be. But it is near the 6 and the 4/5 train, so it's easy to get to, especially if you're on the east side like me. I would not recommend ever using UPS though. In the future, I'll just get things shipped to my work. Regular mail? So much better. read more

Friday 4/22/16. They are physically open but clearly the workers are on strike or have just given up on life. The portly guy at the counter pretended to look for my package WITHOUT my tracking number. I guess he thought that he could tell what I ordered by looking at me OR he had no intentions on actually retrieving it. Me-but dont u need the number? Him-*grumble grumble grunt grumble* Me-pride wont let u be great so here's the tracking number Him-types "something" into computer & says he cant find it It ended with him telling me that it MIGHT be available on Monday & me calling him a fat lazy fuck. It would probably take him 3 days to get off his ass & go look for my package. So I called UPS & someone in a faraway land asked me for the shipper's phone number & how much I'd paid for my purchase. So many WTFs Hows about calling YOUR driver on YOUR truck since thats who had it last & thats who noted the package as being held at the station....duhhh! The stupid, it burns!!! Avoid interaction with this place at all costs!! There's gotta be a better way. read more

I'm writing this review while standing in line waiting for my package. There is only one person working here, and he has to help the customers AND retrieve the packages. This is my second time here, and there is always a line out the door. Don't plan anything for after you come here, because you'll be standing in line all day. read more

I arrived to this UPS location to pickup my package after the delivery service failed to find my apartment. I decided to save myself the headache and went to pickup my package. I arrived and was greeted by a gentleman who helped me out within 5 minutes of my arrival. There were two people behind me who also needed to pickup their packages, so to save time he ran all our tracking codes and gathered them all at once. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I guess I was just lucky, but regardless, I received good service. Now when it comes to the brown truck delivery service in NYC, I would give them zero stars if possible. There seems to be a huge lack of common sense among delivery personnel in this city, oh well. read more

Hard to find location in the Bronx--- it's a trek to get here, and they are only open weekdays. It's like my packages are held hostage! You'll probably need to call a cab or walk a few blocks to the subway with your package--- would go before it gets dark out- neighborhood is sketchy. Staff was great the first time I went, though, so one extra star for them- the waiting room is tiny! read more

I rarely write any reviews, but I have to commend these gentlemen for the work they do. I went to their store twice and both times I was helped by Rafael Z who was absolutely amazing. I was worried that my box was a bit flimsy, but he said he would tape it up really well, which he did! My packages came intact and I am very grateful to him and the team for the wonderful job they did and for how I was treated while there. Highly recommend this location. read more

LAZY!!!!! Delivery boys write out the "attempt" stickers in the morning then they don't attempt to ring the doorbell and/or knock on the door. If they do "attempt" to deliver... They'll leave the boxes on the steps or on the walkway instead of the porch so the "thieves" can just run up and grab the boxes. Constant problem with UPS.. DHL and FedEx would NEVER do this.. This branch of UPS service in my area has been consistent and reliable for the past two years. I stop by the location to pick up missed delivery packages sometimes. The place looks a bit run down and totally understaffed, but the attitude and the patience of the front desk man have always been very pleasant and sincere. One star off for the understaffed situation. Otherwise, this would be an easy 5-star experience, especially compare to the bad lazy attitude and even slower pace (though well staffed) post office in my 'hood. read more
