"What can brown do for you?" UPS can be your notary public. I recently needed a notary on a Saturday afternoon and UPS was the answer. Not all businesses have notaries on weekends, so this was not the easiest to accomplish. The colors for UPS don't stand out amid everything trying to get your attention in the City, so watch out for the store front. The folks there were very busy handling packages of every size, but the notary came from a desk in the back to handle my documents. I would not call this friendly service. This location is much closer to me which is convenient, however I find myself walking 1+ miles to the next location to get great customer service. When I walked in this morning 2/21 I was greeted by a very pleasant young man who begin to assist me with my shipping needs, and then came the female who's usually the downfall to customer service to ruin the experience. She literally took over the transaction asking questions this young man has already successfully captured. She's always so aggressive in tone with a condescending delivery. if I could give negative stars I would. I had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience at this UPS Store while returning an Amazon package. I arrived around 8:15 AM and saw a woman inside opening the store. She didn't acknowledge me at all. When she finally opened the door, she told me to "back up" so she could put items outside. Her tone was rude and dismissive. I didn't understand her at first, and when she placed the welcome mat down, she dropped it directly in front of my feet. As she brought out additional materials, she looked at me and said, "You want me to drop it on your foot?"--completely unprofessional and unnecessary. Once I entered the store, she asked if my package was sealed. I realized it needed more tape, so I told her I had a barcode and went to my car to grab some tape. While I was taping the box outside, another customer came in but quickly left. That in itself says a lot. Trying to be kind despite the rude welcome, I re-entered the store and asked her how her day was going and if she was feeling okay. She completely ignored me. I then asked who her manager was, and she replied, "I don't have one." When I asked if she was the manager, she said, "No, I just work here." At this point, I felt compelled to address her attitude and asked why she was being so nasty. Her response? "Don't waste your breath on me. Don't waste your energy on me." I was stunned. She then printed the label, slapped it on the package, and dropped it carelessly on the floor--without asking if the contents were fragile or handling it with even basic care. When I asked her why she dropped my package like that, she said, "It's going to get tossed around worse than that." I asked her politely to ensure my package was handled safely, and she responded, "Do I look like a delivery driver?"--then walked off. At this point, I took out my phone and began recording because I couldn't believe how disrespectful and careless she was being. This woman should not be the face of a community store. She showed zero professionalism, courtesy, or care for customers or their belongings. I'm requesting immediate contact from UPS Corporate. This employee's behavior was unacceptable on every level, and she does not deserve to continue representing the UPS brand. However, the level of disrespect displayed by Jennifer at this location was completely unacceptable, and I will not be returning. Believe the reviews--she refused to help anyone, told customers to tape up their boxes only to then demand they be opened for inspection, charged for the tape, and then imposed outrageous fees like $35 for returns and $20 for printing, all while being disrespectful. I went to this store and was treated extremely unkindly. I was returning a package from ASOS, which had a built-in adhesive sticker to seal the package. The associate KAY told me that I had to secure the package before he could accept it, so upon me trying to seal it, the adhesive fell in on itself so parts of the package were loose. He saw me attempting to seal it, DID NOT try to help and then had the audacity to strong-arm me into paying $2 to tape the package when there was a tape gun right behind him. I kindly asked him "You just saw me attempt to seal it, now you're going to charge me $2??? Could you please just use the tape gun behind you?" He simply did not want to help me. He kept saying "It's your fault, it's your fault." I understand if I came into the store with a messed up package, but I did not. Hell, had I messed up the package prior to my visit, I would have just used the tape at my home, for FREE. I told him he was being unnecessarily difficult and extremely rude to a customer who was not rude or anything! I was about to leave to go home and seal the package myself when another rep gracefully intervened and decided to tape the package with one of the numerous tape guns behind the counter. I could not believe the hostility I was receiving after a simple human error. Given this is the closest UPS to me, it's extremely unsettling to know that someone as rude as KAY is working at UPS, a company that prides itself on "world class customer service." I am extremely disturbed by this entire encounter. Moreover, lower management responded and was completely dismissive, accusing me of being belligerent, irate and rude, which was not the case. They are trying to paint me as the stereotypical angry, Black guy when I just needed a simple solution to a minor problem. The entire store is TOXIC. The management is defending the rude actions of its employees and justifying bad customer service. The manager at this location is quite rude and nasty. I was given instructions on how to send and pickup a package at this location. They said you can send to the location and pick it up at the cost depending the size. Upon delivery they refused the package and completely changed the process of what they told me stating "if you don't have a PO Box we won't accept it". I recently visited this location to purchase large boxes. I approached Jay who had just come from outside the store and was now standing guard towards the back of the store where the oversized boxes were located. As I explained to Jay my project and what I was looking for, he's staring me down, aggressively swinging his arms as if he's a bouncer of some nightclub prepared to pounce at any given moment. I asked Jay if he could turn around so that he could see the box size I wanted to purchase (there were various sizes). He flatly replied, "No". Since he did not want to turn around, I had to continue the annoying task of pointing and describing the boxes I wanted which were located directly behind him. (By the way, there was a sign on the wall that read "Pedicure" with an arrow pointing in the same direction. I suppose if I had just said I needed a pedicure, things would have gone much easier). Eventually, he turned to grab at least one box, but not without cursing and mumbling under his breath. He pulls one of the boxes. I asked, " Do you have something larger?" Full of attitude, he begrudgingly and loudly replied, "It would be easier if you just told me what you're trying to do". I said, "I just told you what I want to do". I asked for the price of the box, told him the number of boxes I needed, but quickly retracted my request. I was so disgusted by Jay's egregious, unprofessional behavior I decided to leave the store. I give this UPS Store one star because I was the second one in the store. That's the one. when I arrived, Jennifer was working. Once she weighed my package Jennifer instructed me to look at the kiosk to check my information. I let her know it was correct. She told me to tap something on the screen. I asked her if she could tap it because she was wearing gloves. She said, "No", so I asked if she had an extra glove I could have, the screen was not clean. She said no and she moved on to the next client without any further acknowledgment. Not even to return my package. Check the tapes. The package I was going to send was over $25. In these times I am very strategic with whom and where I spend my money. For the month of December my household was quarantined 3x. That means no income. I traveled to Harlem to mail this package purposely. I could have and should have simply mailed my package from Brooklyn where I live and that is exactly what I did after experiencing Jennifer. I carried my package back to Brooklyn. In these days no one should be experiencing such rudeness. Money is funny, change is strange and my hard earned hard to come by dollars WILL be RESPECTED. The supervisor at 30 E. 125th Street (New York) is the worst customer service person I have ever come it contact with. On numerous occasions her negative attitude has caused disruptions with several customers just wanting to pick up their packages. This UPS Store is close to my house so I have gone there many times to mail things, buy shipping supplies, and finally, today, to have a form notarized. They have always been rude and condescending and today's visit was the absolute worst encounter yet. I was having two contracts notarized and was not exactly sure which parts of the contracts needed notarized stamps so I asked the employee (Jennifer) for help. She was brusque but told me to bring out my ID and my signed forms. I did my best with the confusing forms, hoping she'd be able to help me. I showed her what I had and she criticized me, expressing confusion of her own and saying "I only notarize signatures. Where's your signature?" I tried to explain what I understood to be the spot I should sign and she said, "that's for the notary! Why are you writing in my spot?" She shook her head and had an overall obnoxious attitude. I tried one more time to figure the situation out but she made an additional complaint/criticism, at which point, I gathered my forms and told her I was going elsewhere. As I left, I said, "you're so rude. I'm just asking for your help." At that point, another customer who had been trying to get her help with something prior, agreed. "You know what," he said to her. "You ARE rude." He elaborated as Jennifer argued and at that point I had had enough and left. How is a business like this still in operation? read more

When I requested a receipt for the drop off, the female employee said receipt is not given out for this return and was told to take a picture of the UPS label with tracking number. On previous return drop offs at different UPS stores I was given receipts. As of today, this tracking number indicates: "Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet". Kareem and apparently this entire location needs customer service training or plain out clean house! I'm never one to take food out of anyone's mouth but they need to get it together! I am superrrrrr annoyed with Kareem's whole aura when entering the store first off, to the way he speaks to customers to his tone and body language. There was a lady when I entered the store and she started to use Apple Pay and in a snippy/dismissive tone he stated they don't take that form of payment. For me, who called 2x to inquire about the DHL shipping process, he was &*(^% rude! Plain and simple! The entire process, which is making me mad all over again so I won't elaborate, was HORRIBLE! Me at 21 would've lost my cool but I'm an adult adult now, so I just took my receipt and walked out before it got ugly. What really boiled my blood was how he spoke to another lady after me who didn't know Amazon labels showed the description and was unsure which package went with which label. His response in the nastiest tone was "We don't know that; you should!" -__- Apparently no one ever told him, 'It's not what you say but HOW you say it!'
