I used to really like this place. To print black and white is about 20 cents which is fine, but to print a label for usps on the same paper (label only takes up about 1/3 of the page) it's 3$... to tape the box on one side 1$ (I don't mind paying for tape) but to tape the label you paid 3$ for is another 1$. It was a box about 5"x3"x2" for usps, and it was 1$ for drop off... read more

Awful. After arguing that they couldn't fit everything in 2 boxes and refusing to give an estimate they up charged me for a 3rd box processed the order then turned around and decided they needed to charge an extra $40.00 for bubble wrap that they already used. I was charged $400.00 to mail a glass picture and 2 smaller pictures. They where rude and very demanding if I could give them negative stars I would. read more

I only gave them a 1 star because I couldn't give them a 0 this is the worst place ever they are very rude and have no respect please I repeat don't spend your money with them I shipped a package out with them and it was returned by dhl I no longer wanted the package shipped out and dhl never even charged them and they told me they weren't going to give me my money back because they didn't have too the guy then called police and wasted there time because he didn't want to give me my money back they are racist and don't respect women and the guy was talking to me as if I worked for him or I was his wife trying to dismiss me and tell me what to do I spent so much money with them over the years and I'm a business owner and never in my life have I ever experienced disrespect from a company all because they didn't want to give me my money back because they felt like they didn't have to long story short almost a week later I finally got some of my money back buy they took 30% of it because they felt like it never again they are rude and disgusting and have no respect for there customers read more

After questioning what defines a shipping bag, he couldn't articulate it for 5 minutes. Furthermore, he said he will have to spend $3.25 buying their plastic bag that have a place to put a label on. I had attached the label to my existing package that cannot be removed. In the same breath, he helped another customer shipping luggage without a label (just a tag). Lastly, I asked if I could use one of the freely available bags in store, he said no. The level of training of store manager is abysmal at best. Took a 15" long fragile item in to be packed and shipped. Was helped by Deven. He charged for…read more18x14x12 fragile pack, which by my math does not meet the 2" of required packing material that UPS regulations say should be around all fragile items, but they're the experts so I follow their lead. They then decided to wedge my 15" fragile item into a 14" long box, completely ignoring the 18" box they charged for and the 2" packaging material rule for fragile items that their own company (UPS) enforces. Plus, they charged for dimensional weight of the larger box (19lbs cost instead of the actual weight cost of 8lbs), then used a smaller box so that the store did not get charged for the 19lbs dimensional weight. So to recap - the store paid for 8lbs of freight but charged customer for 19lbs of freight. Talk about deceptive business practices. This store should be investigated. Do not take your fragile items here to ship unless you packed it yourself. If you get charged for dimensional weight, make sure the store actually uses the appropriate box.

In fact, the only station in the city open on Sundays and a lifesaver for those who started writing holiday cards on the Friday before Christmas. Peering into the "envelopes" mail slot, thousands of pieces of mail were visibly overflowing the sacks, requiring some gingerly wedging of my small booklet-worth of correspondence in between others. Fingers crossed all made it out ok! Shoutout to one of two staff working the two open counters at 5pm on Sunday December 21, you were friendly, prompt and helpful and put your best foot forward for terrific customer service. Only 2 counters were open and the line was about a dozen people long, steadily moving. For service--a solid 5 stars. Facilities are as expected a bit on the older side, being built in 1912 as part of the original Penn Station complex, though the modern conveniences of tap-to-pay technology and self-service weigh/postage stations are available. Waiting in line, the details on the ceiling caught my attention. Maybe because the darker evening outside accentuated the brighter interior, the simultaneously ornamental, scrolling flourishes fitted in repeating geometric patterns stood out in ways I hadn't noticed before. Come to find after some googling the ceiling is decorated with the country seals of 11 countries including the US, the countries part of the universal postal union at the time of construction, an administrative body now under the purview of the United Nations that handles international shipping policies. Not very fun facts: designated a national historic landmark in 1973 and re-named after James Farley, 53rd U.S. Postmaster General in 1982. Previously generically named the General Post Office. Slightly more fun fact: atop the facade along 8th Avenue the inscription reads, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Some may confuse this to be the creed of the U.S. Postal Service, but it's actually not. Rather, it's tied to the tribute that building architect William Mitchell Kendall paid to major historical figures credited with postal advancements. This is an excerpt out of Herodotus's 'Histories', which described the messenger system established in Persia by Cyrus the Great.

As someone who has regularly used this post office for years given its easy availability, including with a P.O. Yes, they do have window service every day, but 98% of the time they're slow as molasses long lines because less than optimal staffing levels. Hey, USPS, this is the city that never sleeps, yet P.O. Boxes and self-serve Automatic Centers are now closed off to the public at night!!! Why? (Note - This is despite the faster than inflation, year-after-year increase in this location's P.O. Box rental rates.) Why is the only ADA access, as far as I could find it, on the almost the. complete opposite side of the building towards 9th Avenue inside Moynihan Hall?

I recently purchased a private physical mailbox at PostalAnnex New York, because I don't have a doorman and FedEx, UPS or USPS delivery guy left my package front of door and I lost them. The crew at PostalAnnex New York are courteous, quick, and professional. It's super easy to have all my packages sent here, I don't need to worry about delivery times or signatures! Also. PostalAnnex New York does free forward to my destination for my package or letter. Only they charge for actual shipping cost for the package or Mail forwarding. there is no local pick up fee. they do unlimited mail and package receiving with no extra charge. Recently purchased a Private mailbox at Postal Annex New York, because UPS, FedEx or USPS they always left my package front of my door and I lost them. had a good experience here. I brought in a DHL package, a package for UPS and 3 packages for FedEx, I've never used DHL or shipped internationally before. The guy at the counter looked at my package and explained to me that I had done a couple things wrong with the paperwork. I fixed it, came back, dropped it off, and the package got to its destination just fine. other 4 packages was domestic the worker helped me for the packaging and then shipped. They helped me to send a package to Colombia with DHL; and to print color documents. I will gladly return to do business with them again. Great service at Ahmad Pack N Ship! I went to two other locations--one a FedEx and another that was a UPS shipping center--neither were able to ship my package or print the label. That's why this location feels like the alternate universe version where time moves a little differently. The staff is courteous and clearly working hard, but the branch seems overwhelmed by the neighborhood traffic. There are usually only two, sometimes three employees, and once four or five customers walk in, the line basically becomes part of the entrance décor. You get about 6 to 8 feet of standing room before you are suddenly at the counter whether you are ready or not. The space itself is nice and open, but the workflow could use reinforcements. More hands or better coordination would go a long way. Compared to other FedEx and Kinko's locations that run like a well oiled machine, this one feels stretched thin most days. I am still glad it is here and open consistently. Just budget a little extra time and patience when you visit.
