I don't need a UPS driver coming into my place of business yelling "HELLO, UPS." (twice). We have a counter you can approach and if someone doesn't come out, there is an old fashioned bell with a sign that states to ring said bell. My time is just as important as yours. And then ask me where the shipping department is when it is clearly marked on the "shipping and receiving" door. And I when I complain about your gracious "HELLO, UPS." don't say "Do you know how hot it is out there?" The Chantilly UPS is the WORST UPS center. Everywhere else people rave about how UPS is their preferred service - but Chantilly is a disgrace. Packages thrown onto the front porch (we have video), always talking on the phone (I hope the UPS drivers wife gets Everything in the divorce!) and if there is a hint of weather - our packages are delayed at least a week, with daily email updates saying they will deliver the next day, but they can't seem to get around to it. How can a company like UPS keep such poor management in place. (Of course UPS grants their victims the privilege of picking up their packages - IF you pay for it. Nothing says 'we love our customers' like holding packages for ransom.) I've gotten to the point where I do my best to choose businesses who do not use UPS - which is Horrible, as it's not their fault that they will be judged by the abysmal performance of the Chantilly UPS. They deserve to be a 0. All the 1 star reviews are accurate to a tee and they keep delaying packages for "severe weather issue". The snow has already been gone from all main roads and they even had my package on route to delivery where you can track their driver in live time but he didnt even attempt to deliver and went back his way. Young man helped me with packaging my item and suggested the best shipping box to protect the contents I was trying to send, and advised that my recipient must be awake and available to receive it at 8am for next day first delivery (or it will delay the parcel). 2nd day in a row that my package has been put on a delivery vehicle, only to not be delivered. UPS claims "weather", which is funny because USPS is delivering, FedEx is delivering, DHL is delivering...I see all their trucks out. To make matters worse, I could walk to this center and pick up the package myself (that's how close I live), but their customer counter is also closed. Then after missing the delivery the 1st day because they show up at 6:30 pm for a school and wonder why it's closed, they try to show up the 2nd day at 6 pm and find the same thing. Had to stop in here to pick up a package that UPS attempted to deliver three times. The company that sent me the package specified that UPS get a "signature from a live person" or words to that effect. Meaning I could not sign one of their forms and leave it on my door and expect them to leave the package. So I stopped in here on my way home from the Airport. It was after 5:00 pm - so I had no idea how long the lines would be. Turns out I was able to get in quickly, provided my tracking number and Drivers license to the lady at the counter, she retrieved my package, and I was out in less than 5 minutes. No explanation was given why the package wouldn't be delivered to the original address and it took 4 days of waiting on customer service lines to get a clear response. USPS, FedEx and Amazon had no trouble with deliveries but UPS basically wouldn't fulfill the terms of the contract and failed to communicate where they were holding my package for 7 business days. Truck number 206340 around 930am was throwing trash from his truck. Hitting my car and others. Lucky for him and you guys my car was fine. That stretch or road is dense and flying debris could cause a major accident. Please make sure you're telling your drivers to pay attention what's in the truck. read more

UPS Store #1697 Greenbriar Shopping Center Fairfax, VA 22033 My parcels were delivered in one box with a 1 of 2 shipping form. I returned both packages to UPS in one box with the form/code taped to each item. Ms. UPS said " I can take one, but the other has a separate code and needs a box." Then her attention went to the two waiting customers. I left without a return receipt printout. Being unfamiliar with store policy I assumed my printout would indicate two items when I came back. Within 15 minutes, I was at the store again with the second package in a new box. She immediately printed a label. I asked, "Don't I need two? You didn't give me the first receipt." She responded, "go over there and find your box." I said, "lady, I have no idea which is mine or which stack you put it in." There were at least 30 if not more stacked boxes against the wall. She said, "well, you have to wait" and called another customer. I hadn't gotten a reasonable explanation before she abruptly called the next customer. By this time I wanted to leave the environment, because I'm a senior who falls into the high-risk Covid category, but decided to look once more. In the midst of it all, she involved another employee who just entered the store. He took one look at the stack of boxes and immediately began questioning me about a tracking number which was home in my computer. He concluded I wouldn't require a return receipt printout and that I could use my tracking number in the computer. Frustrated, and about to leave, Ms. UPS went over to the stack of boxes, taller than she was, and said, "Are you Wall?" Then proceeded to print and hand me my return receipt. However, during this encounter, Ms. UPS said, "I gave you a receipt." Then almost in the same sentence, "You left before I had chance to." Finally, as a qualifier, "I tried to catch you." The truth is after scanning the first package she decided to turn her attention to a waiting customer and forgot. read more

I have two packages that were shipped by the seller via UPS. One of the packages says in the shipping details that it has been delayed and rescheduled based on a request from me. I made no such request and still have not received the package. The second package details says it is waiting for clearance from the sender before delivering the package. Clearance for what???? The package is coming from California! My wife also has a package in limbo and it looks like it is now being sent back. This despite contacting UPS on multiple occasions to give them delivery location information. To date, UPS has a 100% failure rate on deliveries to us. UPS is a criminal organization. It charges money for shipping-delivery, but can and will just leave your packages in the dirt by your mailbox on the roadside if the driver doesn't feel like driving to your front door. Some of the packages left on the ground have included gunpowder, an expensive leather jacket, and a firearm returned from factory service to name a few. If you pay extra for "Signature Required" that is a joke. The driver just signs, "Released" If you take money to do a service, then refuse to do that service and keep the money, that is called, "theft". read more

Great people, horrible hours. Not open on the weekends, closed from 1pm-4pm on weekdays. And closed by 7pm. But do they care how much of an inconvenience this is to you? No...because they know you wouldn't be coming here if you had a choice to do anything else. I doubt UPS cares, but someone needs to add to all the rotten reviews for their customer center in Chantilly. This place is just simply awful. On Friday UPS attempted to deliver to my home at 1pm. An hour later I called UPS' 800 number. I could not get a person on the phone. The recording gave me an option to pick-up on Friday and stated that someone would call me within an hour to direct me to the pick up location. I made 3 calls during the afternoon. Each call led me to a recording telling me that I would be called within an hour to direct me to the pick up. No one called. I eventually tracked down the location of my delivery and it was at Chantilly. Unfortunately, the time they have listed as their hours of business are not correct. And, no one ever called as promised. I went to the UPS Center on Monday. Every person on my line had a complaint. The center did not care. This review is for UPS as a company, a delivery service, not just for this location. I would not use UPS myself for sending packages. But sometimes I have no choice as a receiver. Apple uses UPS for Apple store, the package does not require signature, and have no way to add the requirement. The brand new airpod pro was lost by UPS. It was left at front door of my office building on the street at 7 pm when the building was locked down. While the devliery address was 5th floor. I highly doubt that was what happened. And when the package is marked as 'signature required', UPS tries all sort of things to let you remove that requirement. Keep sending emails suggesting to remove signature. In the delivery options, all options waives signature (except in store pick up). There no simple option as "Knock the door, someone is at home". So, when someone is at home, sometimes they would no knock for signature. They just mark the item as failed attempt and keep it at a facility. They try hard to not be a good service, save the cost and destroy their own reputation. read more

I am usually a fan of UPS, but my experiences with delivery to my home in South Riding have been less than stellar. Today was the last straw, prompting this review. I have had several packages shipped to me via UPS. Each time, the drivers drop whatever they are delivering in my driveway without even bothering to ring the bell. I don't mind so much when the sun is shining and I have no worries about damage to the boxes contents. Today, it was pouring rain all afternoon. I was working from home, Not only did they not ring the bell, they left a cardboard box which contained an electric buffer out in the driveway in the rain, I didn't realize anything had been delivered until my husband came home and brought this nasty, water-soaked cardboard box up the stairs. Couldn't they at least have covered it with plastic...or maybe rung my doorbell? Luckily the item was packed well. However, based on the latest experiences I have had, it's clear to me UPS does not care about my shipments. Apparently these drivers are the laziest ever or just have so many deliveries to make they can't afford to take a moment to ring a doorbell. The USPS and FedEx drivers always manage to bring packages to my front door and deliver with no issues (and a smile). What gives UPS? If I have a choice of how something will be delivered to my home, it will not be with UPS. read more

Customer care at this facility is ZERO. If I could give them a negative rating--I would. The delivery person dropped my package at the front office of my apartment and did NOT make an attempt to deliver the package at my front door. After calling the 1-800 number and filing a complaint, I received a phone call from one of the supervisors at the facility and they claimed the driver made an attempt and I was not home. Complete bogus. I received no apology from the supervisor and had to call the 1-800 number back to file a complaint against the driver and supervisor. I have lived at my current address for about a year and the UPS driver out of the Chantilly facility ALWAYS either leaves packages at the front door without knocking or he brings them to the front office of my apartment complex without attempting to deliver. One time I tried calling the 800 number to complain and ask them to have the guy deliver the package to my door the next day(he comes every day) and they had the nerve to say they couldn't do that because the package had already been delivered. Well, no it wasn't because I don't live in the front office and that is not the address on the box. I've never had these problems with UPS before and I have been using them for 30+ years. 2 packages were to be delivered Tuesday 2/17. Monday evening we had 3 inches of snow. Tuesday my package was out for delivery (yay!) then I got a message "Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day." Roads were dry to the bone when I went out Tuesday afternoon, but ok fine. Wednesday 2/18 Out for Delivery, but then "An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery." I did get another package delivered via the Post Office (USPS was closed on Tuesday) Post Office 1, UPS 0 Thursday 2/19 Out for Delivery. Spoke w/ the FedEx guy at work asked if they were backed up, he said no they never closed. At 8:45pm then got another "An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery.". FedEx 1, UPS 0 Friday 2/20 Out for Delivery. Called customer service, they are worthless. Can't tell me anything more than what I see online. How is that possible? I'm sure they have GPS units on the trucks. Rep kept blaming it on the weather... it's been sunny the past 2 days and all roads are clear! Okay. No. Need to give no zero stars! Receptionist ". We don't have record of your package" Me "here is the voicemail someone left telling me to pick it up at this time" Receptionist "oh! That is Bill! He calls to tell you your package is here" Me "can I get my package" Receptionist. "It's not here" Me "but someone named Bill called me to tell me it's here" Receptionist "yes, bill calls when packages are here" Okay so you get the drift. First, I was here on Friday December 11th at 8pm. I drove thirty minutes to get here. Bill called and told me my package was available after 7:30. My package from Omaha steaks was shipped to my old address by my boss on accident. Time sensitive stuff since it could spoil. When I got the email notice alerting me of the delivery I immediately caught the mistake and sent in a change of delivery request which was approved through the website. However, it must not have truly gone through since it went to the wrong address anyway. After many worthless calls from Omaha steaks to UPS, my boss to UPS it was resolved to pick up at this hub. The pace of the customer service staff was slow. No urgency even though there were lines. One front in rep (a blond curly haired lady) was sitting on a conveyer belt acting as the Greek chorus to the other reps. Two other people in front of me had similar messages to pick up packages only to make the drive and find out their package was not there after all. One poor fella paid $50 for overnight delivery and was on the phone with UPS arraigning his pickup since 10am only to find the item wasn't there as guaranteed. After my customer service rep (I don't know what else to call her but customer service was not happening) shuffled away for about thirty minutes to find my package she came back to tell me it was gone WITH A PLATE OF FOOD IN HAND! I kid you not! Basically my package is somewhere only Bill the phone call guy knows where until Monday. Unfortunately at that point even if it's delivered to the wrong address it will be too spoiled for my old apartment tenants to enjoy. The customer service area was filthy, disorganized and clear that packages were not treated with care. Not only was my rep multi tasking by letting me down and getting her plate of food but there was a pizza box from Paisanos the staff was clearly snacking on in front of house. Stuff happens. However at this location it happens a lot based on reviews over the years. Being holiday one would think they were playing to win since it is their peak time. If you need to get a package shipped you'd find better luck with any other shipping service including Going back in time and using an Ox or mule on the Oregon Trail. If you want useful honest information try a online psychic. If you are looking to waste time UPS is the place to go! Shame on UPS. UPDATE: (it doesn't get better) - The UPS customer care center emailed me at 2:41 in the morning and offered to hold my package until the 18th at the center. A few things...uhhhh they clearly didn't comprehend my complaint because the point of me picking it up on the 11th was to get it before the food spoiled -I'm pretty sure they weren't doing me any favors because it's within the package pickup policy to hold. - Omaha Steaks called the center this morning (the 14th) to inquire about the package and they hung up on them -A manager called me this morning to apologize and seemed to acknowledge there was an operational Problem and "she needed to figure out what happened Friday" I've now added carrier pigeon to my list of preferred options before UPS. Also, on a few occasions noticed them throwing people's parcels onto their stoops. If any of your stuff comes to you broken, it was most likely their fault. Freaking horrible! Two deliveries in a row left in pouring rain. They were Extremely Urgent envelopes. The contents were ruined. When I tried to make a complaint I got the help desk in Central America. The contents have no dollar value, so they are basically unable to correct the situation or make it right.
