I would never choose UPS to ship anything if given the option. In February, UPS delivered my shipment to the wrong address. By the time I received my package, the box was destroyed, and the items inside were damaged. I originally filed a claim for a lost package when they told me it had been delivered, but I had not received it. They later closed the ticket after the driver claimed he delivered it to one of my neighbors. Now, I can't file a claim for the damaged items because, although they closed the lost package claim, it is not entirely finalized, preventing me from filing a new claim. No one at UPS will speak with me, and I am out a significant amount of money due to their incompetence and neglect. read more

Incompetent staff drivers pick and choose which locations they prefer to drop off at. Paid for Next Day Air shipping just to find out the driver didn't feel like coming to my address and instead changed the delivery preferences to " receiver must pick up " once at the UPS location they told me the package was still on the truck. I'll agree with Gabriel, except that I didn't manage to visit the UPS Customer Center. Yes, I did go there today, a Saturday. They're closed. Seriously, what the heck is that about? Isn't this a big city? Isn't this a major delivery center for them? I guess not. The problem started when the shipping address on my package was off my one digit, but UPS didn't call me or email me to correct it. Instead, I happened to notice on the tracking page this morning that there was a problem. So I called (the first time) and the agent said that there was nothing I could do - I would have to wait until Monday to call, fix the address then, and they would try to deliver on Tuesday. I actually believed that for about a half hour. And then I thought... doesn't UPS take pride in being a logistics company? Can't a package be rerouted in transit? So I called and this time, the agent said that she would send a message to the local warehouse and they would call me in an hour. Three hours went by. So I figured I would go to the dang warehouse and wait for the driver to return so that I could get my package. They're closed. So I called a third time, and this agent apologized for the previous agent's error that someone would call me. And no, they won't try and redeliver a package once it's been attempted that day. And no, they can't try and fix it until Monday which means that the earliest I could get my package is Tuesday. I'm very disappointed. I will be choosing FedEx or the US Postal Service next time. I think it was due to the holiday weekend, but the usual UPS store I pick up my packages was closed so my package got rerouted or I would have had to wait another 4 days to get another "we missed you" message on my door. I called UPS and they said I could come to their Customer Center on Jeff Adams. They opened at 10am, so I decided to try to get the "early worm" and went right at 10:05am..... right when I walked in, there were already 10 people waiting in line with rather annoyed expressions. Not a good start. The ONE PERSON working the desk would get the person's package ticket, scan it in/look it up... and then disappear for about 5-10 minutes to locate the package. There were a couple of people that had their packages still "on the delivery trucks" so they got even more annoyed.... overall an unpleasant experience. On top of this line I was waiting on was this lady that was on her cellphone (on a Bluetooth headset) and her conversation was rather in appropriate and just uncomfortable (since it was the only thing that was blasting in the background). Let's just say there were a lot of the MF term being used - made for a really awkward wait in line. This lady also stepped outside for a while for the "meat" of her conversation of which we could still hear through the glass door.... UGH I don't even want to think about it. What a nightmare. This is the worst delivery company EVER! This is the 2nd time I've had a issue with UPS. 4 months ago I ordered a TV that was never delivered. Called customer service no help. My TV was never located by UPS. The company I purchased the TV from had to file a claim and send me another TV. Today I was supposed to get a mattress delivered by the end of business today (according to their app my mattress was out for delivery) 6 pm I get a notification that my mattress is being delivered tomorrow. Called customer service they dont answer when you give a tracking number just give some automated crap. Called back didn't give the tracking and got someone who told me they are sorry they don't know why my mattress will be delivered tomorrow and it's nothing they can do. had a package scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, on Tuesday I contacted ups to change the delivery day to Saturday since I was out of town, I was charged $9.99 for the change & within minutes I received a confirmation to expect the delivery on Saturday between 2-6pm. I called ups & after jumping through hoops to get to a representative I finally got to speak to someone, the rep told me that a supervisor will contact me by 6:30pm sharp... by 7pm no one called so I called them back... same thing, stay put someone will call you back... by 9pm no one called so I called again and another useless rep answered not offering any solution. I called again Sunday morning, did the hoop jumping again to speak with someone & as usual no one can help. This is my situation now: - Monday it's the 4th of July, - A customer that expected a home theater installed for the holiday gathering won't get their system in time & I loose income - Ups automatically will attempt to deliver my package on Tuesday but I'm not going to be home because I'm leaving town early Tuesday for business - I'm living in a bad neighborhood, a package won't last 2 seconds In front of my door, it would get stolen - To hold the package ups want to charge me again as if paying for the package & then paying again for the delivery date change is not enough they want to charge me third time - Every rep be spoke to was almost impossible to understand cause English was not their first language (spoke to 5 reps) Here in the US we used to take lots of pride of our postal carriers, services & options, not anymore! I've had several bad experiences with UPS so it'll come as no surprise that I was at this location because of another UPS screw up. Due to a substitute driver failing to find an address that all the other drivers easily found (all year long) I had to spend part of my Saturday at this customer center. My poor service started when I spoke to the center over the phone the day before. Not only did they not want to speak with me, but they were unapologetic for the mistake their driver committed instead choosing to hoist all the blame on me. When I drove to this location it appeared that everyone, from the employees to the customers, did NOT want to be there. I made it through the line expecting a brusk reception from the sole UPS employee manning the station and got exactly that. Even though I had my ID ready and the tracking number written down she still made me feel like I was interrupting her day. When you order items online you can't always choose who delivers your packages. While I wish I could always use FedEx or USPS I'll just have to prepare myself mentally when dealing with UPS. I needed to pick up a package that I wasn't home to sign for. I called the center and they contacted the driver to drop the package off at the hub. I got immediate responses to everything and they were prompt to call me back and tell me my package would be available after 1:15pm. I'm impressed with the precision of the time! I couldn't get there until near closing (6pm), but all the same, it was good to know in the event my plans changed. One thing to know is that this place is out in the boondocks, practically. It's only a mile and a half from 85, but it's not a place I'd want to drive after dark. There are just a lot of industrial buildings and there's even a massive rock quarry that for some reason gives me the creeps. So my security spidey sense tingling wasn't totally off. When I drove to the UPS hub, there was a security guard at the gate who insisted I show ID and essentially check-in and state my business. While inside, there were 4 other people waiting on various things, and 2 of them looked like people I would not want to be alone in the dark with. Everybody uses UPS, I get that, but.. yeah.. spidey sense telling me to keep to myself and leave as soon as possible. The rep inside took 10 minutes to search the warehouse for my package, but just as she came out to tell me she couldn't find them, I happened to walk towards her and I spotted the box under the counter as mine. Silly! Great customer service, and the driver is still awe some for leaving the package for me so I could get it same day, but I really wouldn't want to come back to this place if I didn't have to. read more

My latest experience with UPS is similar to most of those posted. I was told by a company to refuse a package if a duplicate arrived and it would get back to them and I'd avoid additional charges. I first tried to take it to a UPS Store--very convenient. They said they are independent stores not part of UPS and that if I left the refused package UPS would just pick it up and deliver it right back to me. They gave me a number to call. I called the national number and they told me they'd have someone out the next day to get it. No one came the next day, with package waiting on porch for them. Day two--still no UPS--you know the company that drives through your neighborhood 5 times a day? So I called the national number a second time. Well, the request was never completely entered. So someone will definitely be there the next business day, which meant Monday. Guess what? No truck Monday. A third call to national UPS number. They would have a supervisor call me the next day. Got that call from someone at this service center. Lo and behold, someone came by and picked it up finally on Tuesday, but did not ring the bell to let me know they got it and possibly apologize. Then Tuesday night, another driver shows up and says he was supposed to pick up a package. Told him it had already been picked up. Now shift to Wednesday evening. I go out on my porch to find the package--redelivered to my house--the package with "Refused" written on all sides. It was supposed to go to London. Missed it by only a few thousand miles and 5 time zones. Clearly the driver had picked it up, thrown it on the truck, found it the next day, wondered "What the *** is this?" and given it back to me. So now call four to national number. They laughed and said it was hard to get good workers these days, but assured me I'd get a call within the hour. (I had tried calling the local number that had called me and was told it was not set up to receive incoming calls. When I asked the national person for a local number to call, they said there was no such thing. Does this tell you something about their commitment to customer service?) Got the call and person assured me they would speak to a manager and they would try to send someone by the next day. I'm waiting. I get dozens of packages a month delivered by FedEx, Lasership, DHL, USPS, and UPS. Without a doubt UPS--a company that built its brand on service and ontime delivery--is so far below the others it is not funny. Avoid using them at all costs. You and your customers/friends/loved ones will be much better off than trying to send something through the disaster that UPS has become. read more

I changed the address online and with a customer service rep and continue to get that response and no package. I sent out three shipments wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a wooden crate. Two of the three were damaged in transit. One of the two was completely destroyed. At first UPS position was I sent it out damage already. Then it was packed wrong. I should have used a cardboard container. The drop off store never mentioned not to use a wooden crate. Either did the UPS driver who was nice enough to help me unload and get them into the store. My neighborhood UPS driver says they take wooden crates all the time. The agent who signed me up with UPS thought the crate and the way I packed was the way to go. Then it was the customer damaged it after taking it out of the crate. I paid for Insurance and now UPS is giving me the run around. I went on YouTube and this scenario has played out for many people. read more

Three things In 2 weeks damaged . One of them was metal emblems from a 50's boat, irreplaceable and maybe the nicest in existence. So rare. I shipped them and the buyer got an empty box that said damaged. #1 how did they damage metal? #2 why did they not ship the pieces? #3 there were two of them do they were both incinerated? Next, client orders vanity . Shows up in 2.5 weeks..with a hole in the box taped up and a gouge in the door . A very deep one .. no letter ...you guys need to tell your help to stop punting everything they touch. This is my second recent nightmare delivery experience UPS. Info Notice 9444 5102 568 5. Delivery attempted but I was not home. Called and then later recieved a call back and was told that I could pick up my package same day at distribution center on Jeff Adams Drive @ 6:30 pm. Fought traffic up I-77 to I-85 reaching the center @ 6:33. Waited about 40 minuets and was told "no one told the diver" ( A 2:30 hour wild goose chase) I then was instructed to sign slip and tape it to my front door, and it would be delivered the next day. No attempted delivery happened the next day. Called again @ 7 pm that day and was told I would get a call within 2 hours, call was not returned til next day. At that time I was told it was there at the distribution center and I could come pick it up. Telling me when I requested a same day pick up that it did not go back out - as if this was all my doing. I refused since I did as exactly as instructed yet did not recieved my package after making the journey. Previous experience was driver made one attempt to deliver even though notice said to sign back of slip which I did and they would make another attempt. My package sat for two weeks and was then returned to the shipper. When I called I was told the driver had the autonomy not to make another attempt and disregard his own slip instructions, without notifying the recipient. read more

I have used UPS in business for over 3 years in Charlotte, NC. Never had a problem with a pickup or a drop off UNTIL around May-June, 2014. The driver assigned to our route was transferred to another route. The reason for using UPS is due to shipments from Ebay and internet sales. I have had several different drivers. There has been more times they have not picked up than they have. Our company is less than 3 miles from the Charlotte Customer Care Center. I schedule all my pickups through their website before the cutoff time to ensure they receiver the pickup information. I have been told I was a LIAR by a driver when he did not pickup the day before and I asked him if there was a problem, his response was it was not a pickup scheduled. I told him there was and the document proved it. He said I was a LIAR. I have called customer service numerous times. NO IMPROVEMENT in SERVICE!!!!!! Yesterday once again, they did not pickup. Called, complained and they said the driver would be there before 5. As I was pulling out of our driveway after locking the shop and gate at 5:10, UPS pulled up. I asked him what the problem was with picking up at our location. What ever the issue was, I needed to resolve it because the my customers did not deserve to have their shipments delayed due to lousy UPS service. He told me he wasn't going to listen to me, he did not have to listen to any one with an attitude. I apologized and asked him in a honey sweet mouth what the problem might be. His response was his board showed a cancellation on our shipments every day. My account is set up for a daily pickup. Therefore on his "board" our account does not show information. It is showing a daily pickup only. One more professional driver and employee who has no regard for customer service or responsibility for his actions or attitude. My company ordered office supplies and they were delivered to the wrong place. The address here is saved on our account so the address is not wrong. It seems like UPS does not take responsibility for their drivers delivering to the correct place. There is nothing on the website on how to rectify the situation and the phone numbers only connect to recordings that do not offer help on packages delivered to the wrong place. The only thing the website says to do is contact the place the supplies were ordered from, however, it is not the supply company's fault our package was delivered to the wrong place. I am very upset at the lack of help offered through UPS. 1 star is the lowest I can leave, otherwise I would not select any stars. read more

I just moved here to Charlotte, NC from Albuquerque. In NM, I got to know the UPS guy. Very friendly and he was an excellent driver. I move here, a pkg was to be delivered and the notice keeps getting put on the door. My and my large dog were home and not once did we hear the bell door know or anything. I apparently had to wait by the door waiting for them without ever knowing the time, which was not marked on the notice. I called the customer service and they said they couldn't help me since it was an international shipped pkg. I call international and they said the local office had to call me. I call back to the customer center and they said I needed to place a hold on it. Even though the previous reps said they would. This has not been a very good experience with UPS! read more

UPS expects that you can skip everything and sit around to wait on their schedule. I had a package being delivered that requires a signature. The UPS tracker said it would be delivered on Saturday 1/4/2020 before the end of the day. I had to take off work to wait. It never came. The UPS tracker continued to say it would be delivered Saturday until close to 10pm, then it said unable to provide a delivery time. On Sunday night, it changed to a delivery on the next day, Monday. Since I had already taken off work on Saturday, I could not take off the rest of the week. I tried to change delivery to the following Saturday 1/11/2020. They said they could but I must pay a $5 fee. I emailed customer service to complain and get the fee waived since it was their error that caused the problem. I told them I could not be home all day waiting until then. Their response came Monday night, after the first delivery attempt had been made. The response was in VERY broken English and basically said they did not know what fee I was talking about, it would be rescheduled the next day for free. I re-explained that a Tuesday delivery would not help, and I need a Saturday delivery. I was told they don't do deliveries on Saturday. I asked why their tracker had said it was going to be delivered the prior Saturday and was told "According to our system it showed delivery on Saturday but it not guarantees delivery in that day we always offer to the customer just change the delivery date Monday to Friday." I checked, out of curiosity, and the website said I still had to pay the fee to change the delivery date to Thursday, which I think contradicts what she said. The only other option i was given was that they could hold it at their distribution center, which is across town and not open on weekends. That was no help. In the end, I was forced to have to pay the $5 fee or lose the $150 I had paid for the package. In addition they wanted an additional $8 fee to narrow the delivery window down to a 2 hour period so that I could at least salvage some of the day. They held my package for ransom. Customer service was no help whatsoever. They refused to accept any responsibility or waive the fee despite the fact their system caused the problem . UPS is greedy and corrupt. I reached out to one of your representatives earlier today about the situation at hand and she was not helpful or even concerned about my issue. Secondly my order was supposed to arrive at the latest today and has not ! I was told it was being held at the ups warehouse customer service desk in my city . I arrive there and to my dissatisfaction my package is not there and no one can tell me where it is or when it will arrive. All I was told was to basically try again tomorrow like I have gas to drive an hour out of my way again . I have never had a problem with UPS shipments before. If I don't need to sign for them, they just leave them for me. I had paid for overnight shipping last Thursday, and the Driver in "HIS DISCRETION" chose not to leave the package because I was not at home. Remember, I didn't need to sign for it. Central Customer Service, both online Chat and Telephone are useless. They would not authorize a redelivery on Saturday, nor would they allow me to pick up the package. All I wanted them to do was let the driver know to leave the package for me today (Monday). They would not help me. They will not give a local phone number. We have a drop box at our place of business which has a pick up time of 7:15pm that this location is responsible for. We have an account and we pay for overnight service. For the past couple of weeks the driver has been coming to our location way before the pick up time. I called to file a complaint a few days ago and was informed that we would not have this issue anymore. Well here we are today with the same issue. The only resolution we could get today was that they would adjust the pick up time on our box. In the meantime, I still have a package that needs to be picked up and the manager was trying to charge us for it!! Mind you, after being on the phone for over an hour now all of the drop locations are closed. I also checked the last three months worth of deliveries to find out that our packages have not been arriving overnight! Day before yesterday he came, knocked so softly no one could hear him, even though we were in an adjoining room, stuck a notice on our door, and was gone in a few SECONDS. We had no time to get to the door. The notice was found in the grass in our yard. I had to pay $6 for redelivery today. He pulled up and stopped at the front of our driveway, got out of his seat, looked in the back of the truck, got back into his seat and drove away. Calling and trying to get help or to have this driver contacted has proven futile. So, here I am once again, waiting from 10:00 a.m. until after 7:00 pm tonight for a delivery that may or may not come. Unfortunately this happens more often than not and we are very weary of it. The drivers need to knock loudly enough for a person to know someone is at the door, and he or she needs to give us a few SECONDS to get to the door. There should be a way to contact the driver and have him return to a household for a delivery that he didn't get out of his truck to make. read more
