I come to this location pretty often for Amazon returns. The people working are always very friendly and efficient - even when there is a long line I never have to wait more than a few minutes. Beware the parking lot is pretty small so it can get a bit chaotic especially on weekends when everyone is running errands. read more

I do not recommend this store for Amazon/Tiktok returns. I brought two returns to this store today, as I have several times in the past, and expected it to be a 2 minute ordeal. All you have to do is show the QR code to the person at the counter and they print a receipt and you're done. Most, if not all, Tiktok and Amazon returns work this way, without needing a label or a box/bag to ship it in. The second I showed my QR code to the man at the counter, he laughed and told me I need a box for my return. I was confused and showed him where it says on my phone "No box or label required". We went back and forth for what felt like at LEAST 10 minutes, with 3 other employees standing around with no other customers, just watching. This employee laughed in my face several times, talking down to me like I was dumb. I have never been talked to by an employee like this, especially one who works in customer service. He refused to scan it again, as I thought it must have been an error. I told him that I refuse to purchase a box for a free return and another male employee chimes in with "You can go home and get the bag it came in then"... Finally, a man came out from the back, who I have seen several times at this location and is always friendly. Within seconds he solved the issue, showing the argumentative employee where it says on the screen "no box required". If the first employee had just taken a second to read the screen before laughing in my face, this whole situation would have never happened. The three stars are for the kind employee who stuck up for me, as I was not in the wrong. He is always kind and brings a close knit, community feel to this location. Parking is a cinch and there are plenty of greeting cards, mailboxes, shipping supplies, etc. that will fulfill those nagging needs. They help unload if you need help from your car to the store. And will box things up for you too, if needed. I've never had an issue here and really like the area. The absolute best and friendliest way to ship a package in all of Charlotte. The employees are the friendliest and most helpful people ever. If you have issues, they will take the time needed to help you fix the problem to your satisfaction. I cannot tell you how much I love these guys!! They are involved in the community beyond their job and remember where you work if you ever tell them. Shipping is a but more expensive than USPS, but you get what you pay for. I cannot tell you how many times I have lost packages via USPS, however I have never had a single package lost from UPS. The online services they offer are amazing. You can make a profile and add your mailing address so that anyone who ever send a you a package via UPS an automatic email is sent to your email with a tracking number and delivery confirmation. This is the best service when you receive packages frequently. The store offers notary service, and they know the restrictions for notarizing which will save you time! I have had a car title notarized with them and it was confusing until they explained the process in detail. All for only 5 dollars. What a deal! Parking is tough at lunch time, but luckily they have a few reserved spots for the store customers. Happy shipping! read more

I do not recommend this location for notary services. My sister and I went to get a government form notarized, and my sister very clearly stated the directions about the date format to be day/month/year as it was an international document with a note specifying if it was written incorrectly the application would be rejected. The lady didn't listen. She wrote it incorrectly, and then when the mistake was pointed out she wrote over it. Then she asked where she was supposed to stamp it. The notary did not pay attention, and we had to get it redone elsewhere. read more

Seriously the best UPS store in town. I'm not one to send a package every day, every week, or even every month, but I've loved this location and the staff each time. Compared to other UPS stores, it's not all that different. Ship your stuff, box your stuff, buy a P.O box, etc. The thing that sets it apart is the customer service. I frequent the Selwyn Ave location because it's close to where I live but I've also used the Hawthorne Ave location and have nothing but the highest praise for both of them. It appears to be family owned and the staff are just great! They are patient and cool under pressure. They are very well staffed during the busy times of the year to get you in and out quickly. It doesn't mean you won't have a wait during those times but imagine the wait if they weren't so well staffed! They are super friendly, very helpful and go above and beyond what's expected. I've had to use FedEx on a few occasions and going there has only cemented my loyalty to UPS because the FedEx locations are not friendly, and unlike UPS don't seem to care about getting to know their customers. It's very cold and very unfriendly and the staff is borderline rude. What's up with that FedEx? So just avoid the "other" place and go where you are wanted and appreciated. See you soon! read more

Very pleasant experience. I turned off my U-Verse and had to ship the equipment back through UPS. Very easy, they took care of it immediately and quickly. I also found out they handle postal service mail, so if you hate getting hung up with the people at the Post Office, well, head over to the nearest UPS store! Occasionally I redirect packages that are being delivered to my house to a UPS store due to the tendency for those packages to sprout legs and walk off my porch and never been seen again. I recently won a raffle prize at a Yelp event (yay!). When asked where to ship it, I didn't realize it was big and would need to go UPS (vs. USPS) and had it sent to my house. Once I got the UPS notification that something was being delivered to my house, I re-directed it to the Hawthorne store. On the day it showed as "delivered", I dropped by to pick up the package. The clerk told me it wasn't here yet - must be arriving later today. Okay, no biggie. I went back 3 days later....to be told the EXACT same thing. This time, I pushed back. The clerk looked up my package (not sure why the first clerk didn't do the same thing) and told me it had been delivered and signed for...but, he didn't know where or the person who signed for it. Okay..... Rather than calling UPS or making some additional inquiries for me, he handed me a phone number to UPS and wished me luck. Thanks for the help........ read more

I have never in my life had so much trouble with UPS. Yesterday I was supposed to have a package delivered which I had expedited. I had been waiting for it all day only to check the status of it saying that they attempted to deliver it which is a lie because the front office was open for them to deliver it. Call to complain and was on the phone for so long only to get nothing accomplish. They were supposed to re-attempt the delivery the same day and I saw nothing of The package and the next day they were supposed to try to deliver it again but literally sent it to the UPS store. This UPS store is the best one i've ever been to. the girls there are so king and friendly and helpful; they genuinely care about anything you want to do! they work so well together and whenever there's a rush they always clear it up so quickly. they are so careful to make sure you get exactly what you want if you're printing something and even if they do mess up they will go back and fix it for you until you're satisfied. they always do their best to make sure everything is perfect. you can tell they genuinely care about what you're doing and they're always willing to talk with you. this staff is so amazing and i'm so glad this is the store closest to my house! they are incredible!!!! read more

The UPS store on Hawthorne Ln has been my primary address since 2009. In that time this store has gone through a lot of changes... Both cosmetic and formulaic. The current owner and his staff run one of the better business that I encounter on a day-to-day basis. All of the staff members are courteous and knowledgeable. Regular customers like myself are treated like part of the family. I now live in South Carolina, but still use this UPS store for all the reasons above. I even had them print my last round of business cards... Which look fantastic by the way. Don't let the few negative Nancy's sway you from heading over to Hawthorne lane... If you look at their complaints, most of the issues they have are either self-induced or related to UPS Corporate's pricing structure. All small business owners should aspire to have an operation like this one. read more
