Three companies refused, Tipping hat told me the furnace was too old to light and "by law" they couldnt light the wh without the furnace, but they would happily replace both for 12,000. Through a friend, I was referred to Dale Horton, owner of Guns and Hoses. At first he indicated he was sick, flu/covid/miserable. But when he learned the situation, he showed up, lit both, went to Home Depot and replaced my thermostat. Got me heat and hot water so we could start the massive clean up. Refused to take payment. Cannot recommend them more highly.

I was told that someone would come over & look at it. I was told this a few times but no, the bill was paid, & it was not a priority or a concern about my gutter operating properly. Then E&M just stopped promising and no one ever came to check the gutter. I made it clear and I was home when someone was supposed to check it over, did not happen. They had the potential to receive 5 stars from me, but once paid, my concern about the gutter was never addressed. Maybe this report will get their attention as my calls never did. (Put a bucket out, put a hose out, can you be home?) I did all of these requests and no one came by.

I thought it was weird Rex Roofing was interested in the job I initiated as a Yelp Project because…read moreI haven't seen anything remotely resembling my 1200sqft 1970 ranch house on their website or socials, and I'm in Longmont while they're based in Castle Rock. Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

The company owes me nearly $3,000 according to the account settlement statement that Josh (owner) sent nine months ago (money that I've paid out of pocket). I've been trying to get that account closed and the money owed to me paid since. Dealing with the office staff I was unable to get a straightforward answer. I connected with Josh and he sent a concise account summary that showed the funds paid, services rendered and amount owed. Since then I have been unable to collect.

They even came back and finished some of the addition work that was missed the first time. The scheduled me so fast. I was in a bind and they got me in same week. The office is very nice. They dont answer the phone like a business so i never was clear if i called the right number untill i asked. Brittney was phenomenal though very nice and helpful. The actual worker did not speak any english. Made it hard to commuicate. But like i said they did a fabulous job.

He contracted for us and he tried to mislead us in how he wrote the contract. He kept asking for more money because he bid the job incorrectly so we paid him more so he could finish the job but he didn't come back. He even tried scare tactics by threatening to put a lean on our home to get more money, he had his lawyer send the paperwork so when I called his lawyer about it, his lawyer said that he wasn't aware of the several payment we sent him. He is a sneaky thief and we are in the process of taking him to court for fraud! There were more complaints of him on the BBB site you can review about some other businesses he had and did the same. People like him get away with this lying, stealing and cheating folks for so long thinking there are no consequences and then try to hide behind bogus lawyer tactics. Stay clear of him because you wont get what you wanted nor will the job be installed properly.

Because of all the snow and melt off, I had gotten in fixed so that I didn't have all that water running down the side of my house. I can 100% appreciate a company owning up to their mistakes and standing by their customers. So, I'm updating from 1 star to 5. Kudos to you, Vito, for making things right and being so gracious about it. GARBAGE company. I have a rental property in Denver that these guys serviced in November. I had a gutter that had detached. They went out to fix it (I live out of state) and all seemed well until we got snow last week and the same exact gutter detached. I called them 4 times and filled out the form for them to contact me 2 times and have yet to receive a call back on getting this repaired. It looks like they no longer service residential properties - which is fine - but they should at least give their former customers a call back for work they did that didn't even make it through a 3 month period.
