I stopped in last night with my daughter and dropped $200 only to get home and realize every single one of my nails is lifting and not attached to my nail entirely. it's been less than 24 hours and everything I touch gets stuck between the acrylic and my real nail. I will now have to drop another sum of money to repair this shitty work. I will not be back but would love to be contacted for a refund.

I am not one to leave negative reviews and I know that no place is perfect... but after my recent experience I just can't let it go unaddressed. I want others to know so their nails don't wind up ruined like mIne. Let me start by saying, prior to now, I loved my experience at this salon. They've always been kind and not tried to sell me anything I don't ask for. They've always done a beautiful job. The first picture is my nails on Wednesday 6/30 just before going in with a plan to get a fresh gel manicure. These were my natural, healthy nails. Just grown out after 3 weeks. The next two pics are my nails yesterday after two extensions broke off only 4 day later! When I got there Wednesday I asked for a simple gel manicure. I had one nail that needed fixing after breaking.. She suggested to fix with a gel extension. She then pressured for several minutes to do them all like that. She claimed it would be safe and help my nails be stronger and more break- resistant She cut my natural nails SO ridiculously short as you can see. I'm guessing this was because she wanted them to be ugly so I'd have to keep coming back for more gel fills (more $$) She didn't do any of the usual cuticle prep/trimming or cuticle oil at the end as they always do. She was very rough and clearly annoyed when I couldn't bend my fingers whatever way she kept trying to move them so the nail forms would rest how she wanted. She also seemed annoyed that she had to keep filing the extensions shorter because I told her I did NOT want long nails.... Worst of all, she made up a price that was significantly more than they normally charge for a full set because she said my nails are "special" nails. Another nail tech stepped in and argued that she couldn't do that and made her lower the price. I'm thankful for her. I left feeling so frustrated and sad, knowing I was just an easy target because I'm new to manicures. I loved this place prior to this experience and now I am too afraid to go back. I've worked so hard for 9 months to grow out my nails and I feel like they are destroyed.Yes, I know it is a first world problem... but it's the one small thing I do for myself as a reward for conquering 30+ years of compulsive biting. My birthday is in a few weeks and I was hoping to have beautiful nails to celebrate. I do not recommend anyone go to Upstate Nails in Liverpool unless you can be sure you do not get the older lady with shorter hair. I don't complain. I tip very well, and I'm a very easy-going person. I'm not a difficult customer and can overlook small imperfections. I just wish I could go back and never agreed to this.

I have never been in so much pain after leaving the nail salon. I got a basic gel mani/pedi and the man who did my nails obliterated my cuticles with the hand file and when I asked him to be more gentle it seemed as if he was even more aggressive! He then took the cuticle clippers and ripped off whatever skin was left. He then realized how much I was bleeding and took a paper towel with the edge of his nail and staring wiping the blood off digging into my cuts he already made and continued to just paid over the blood and put the polish brush back in the bottle this is 3 days after and my fingers are so inflamed and sore!!! The manicure itself looks great but holy cow not worth all this pain I'm in.

    Uneven nails

Do not go here. A simple set of acrylics took two hours and in the end they are uneven and feel awful. They were unable to give me the design I wanted.

Ignore my arthritis..would go again to this shop. Great service.

Visiting my daughter and needed my powder gel manicure redone. She made an appointment for us here. I wish I got the gentleman's name who did my nails. He did an excellent job. Smooth and not too thick and sides covered. Also pushed back the cuticle and trimmed so the full mail got color. PLUS the hot towel for the shoulder massage and hand massage were wonderful. My daughter got the pedicure which she loved as well!! Highly recommend plus it's next to wegmans so you can pick up a snack or drink.

If you're looking for some me-time, this is a great place to go. A little pricey, but worth it. My nails look very good and although they're acrylic and regular nail polish, they haven't even chipped yet. They're very nice and not at all condescending (which I've experienced awful customer service at other salons in the area *cough cough nu nails cough cough* The guy who did my nails was so helpful. I was between a couple of colors and he helped me choose the one he thought I would like better. I'm so in love with this place. He wasn't even rude about the fact that I bite my nails. It's very clean and they helped me immediate. No wait at all. I'll be back !

    Manicure

I went there because I was short in time and it was close to my office. Within ONE DAY of my full my nail was popping up. I called and they agreed to repair it, this nail lasted TWO DAYS!

Sloppy isn't the look I was going for

I have never written a Yelp review before but I just got the worst dip manicure of my life. They are covered in scratches and bumps. On some of my nails, the dip is attached to my skin and rough. On other nails it doesn't even go to the edge. But every nail looks like it was done by a 6 year old. The color is even spotty on some of them. I kept looking and pointing things out and they made me feel like I was crazy so eventually I told them it was fine. I can't believe I actually paid for this. I've been o the door for 10 minutes and 2 of them have already cracked. Never going back! I recommend you don't go either

    Happy with my spa pedicure.

Very 1st time here but felt it had enough (+) reviews to warrant a visit. Super clean and no chemical smell noted. Greeted immediately and asked what I needed. Chose Spa Pedicure. Had a large selection of polishes like, OPI and Essie. My technician, Kim, was lovely. Took special care to check for right water temp, etc. Included an extra service, ( ten minutes chair massage, regular mani or waxing) Very nice! Highly recommend.

I went in for a uv gel fill and ended up getting a spa pedicure as well. Very clean and prices were reasonable.

I've been here twice - once for a massage and once for a mani/pedi. The for the mani/pedi: They…read morehad no slippers for my feet so I had to walk around barefoot after the pedi (to the mani table). There were no yoga blocks for the pedicure so I had to hold my leg in the air by myself for ten minutes at a time. That was a workout for me, and I know my mom wouldn't have been able to do it. They have no dryers (!) so when your hands are done you can either blow on your nails with your mouth or sit and wait for them to air dry. For the mani they sit you on a short, uncomfortable bench and pull the table away from you so you're leaning outward and hurting your back. Also, they don't take your payment until afterward, so your nails (which aren't fully dry because there's no dryer) get ruined trying to get into your wallet. Re the massage: it was a combo sauna/massage experience and they offered a threadbare robe with someone else's hair on it. They expect you to wait in the sauna until your masseuse is ready. I ended up calling the front desk from my cell phone to ask what was going on. I was escorted to an open area where I had to wait and everyone was dressed except for me (I don't mind wearing a robe if we're all in a spa, but this was just weird). And I was carrying my wet boots, clothes, and purse with me while trying to stay covered in my very short robe. When they were finally ready for the massage I had to ask for help carrying everything into the room. Just not a great experience. The massage was okay but it was too light and she never asked if the pressure was okay. Also, if you at all need to hold onto a railing down the stairs, DON'T USE THEIR STAIRS. The railing is not properly installed. If you are holding onto it while going down, at one point it sits flush against an overhang and you will jam your fingers between the railing and the overhang and hurt yourself. They do have an elevator, so definitely ask to use that. Also, twice there was no one at the front desk (reception) and I had to yell loudly to get someone to come to the front (no one could hear over the hair dryers). Will not be going back and I recommend you don't, either!

I received a gift certificate and as I have never been to this establishment before I decided to go…read morewith the signature facial because it seemed like a safe bet and it was fully covered by my certificate ($75) I called to make the appointment and was told for $75 I would get the signature facial including extractions. I asked if I would be seeing a licensed Esthetician and assured Gina Marie was. This is how the actual appointment went. I got there ten minutes early as instructed to fill out paperwork but was given none and at ten minutes past my appointment time Gina Marie casually came out to get me. She never asked for history on my skin, allergies, preferences, nothing. I was not given any paperwork. This signified to me she wasn't interested in my history or keeping a record on my skin. Not a good sign. While kind and personable, she lacks in professionalism and seemed not as well versed as my previous Esthetician at an actual spa. I consider Paparazzi a salon that does spa services. I could smell perm/ chemical process odors while waiting and during my treatment I could hear everything all through the salon. Not very relaxing. So for a half hour she basically washed and moisturized my face. No extractions and nothing special. She did try to up sell me many times, critiqued my skin tone in a derogatory manner and was over all just a little irritating. I was amazed that service should cost $75. For $30 minutes? When I left I had cleanser gooped in my hair and some kind of crusty stuff all over my neck. I discovered this in the car. I've never had a worse treatment anywhere. I do not recommend.
