The crust was pretty basic- not really chewy or crispy or thin. Not something that detracts. The pizza was very light on sauce- that was the most noticeable thing. I would've liked more sauce, or sauce so good it makes up for it. Price was pretty good for a (9"?) pizza at the airport for ~$10.50. They had a quick way of ordering, where you order on one of the iPads, then get a receipt and pay at another self-service iPad, then wait at the counter for your pizza. No line to order. Ive had some rough pies in my life but this one was definitely the worst. Part of it had to do with the worker being careless about the quality... gas station pizza would have blown this pizza away. There is no shortage of food options in terminal C ( United Airlines) as they have gone through a major makeover. Every restaurant seat in Terminal C is equipped with an iPad and diners can scan their boarding pass for updates on their flight, play video games, and even order products from the terminal's shops to be brought to their table. Most places look trendy and upscale with good looking menus and food pictures. Thankfully we yelped for reviews of the restaurants and surprised to find that many of them were rated 2 stars or less. So we decided to try the pizzeria inside the global bazaar. Here, you order the pizza on an iPad in front of the store, then pay at any of the automated counters in the bazaar area and then pick up the pizza when it is done. The cool thing is you can pay using United freq flyer miles which is what we did. We ordered a make your own pizza. Our choice was pesto sauce with mozzarella, mushrooms and red pepper. It was a thin crust pizza that was slightly more cheesy than I would like. Overall, pretty happy with the pizzeria and reasonable price compared to all the fancy looking options in terminal C. read more

Very reasonable prices for an airport restaurant! Base price for a plain cheese pie is about 9 bucks. Additional for each topping you select. The quality of the pizzas is pretty good, and they churn through them efficiently. It's an assembly line, so the pizzas should all come out pretty consistent. The toppings are sometimes strewn on haphazardly, though. The cheese coverage on mine was uneven, which led to big bubbles in the crust, and there were a few slices that didn't catch any olives, which was the only topping I ordered. Overall, a better value than most anything else you'd find at the airport. read more

Terrible experience. Unhappy employees make it obvious they don't care at all about the customer. Stupid procedure to begin with. You order your pizza on a computer. Then you take that receipt to another kiosk with another unhappy person to pay. I'm disabled so I ask for help carrying my order to the table. Employee acts like he's being really inconvenienced because I asked for help, then spills my drink on all my napkins and drops my straw as we go to the table. Did I mention what an unhappy person he was? He drops it on the table and just leaves me there. I can't leave my luggage so I'm just stuck with no napkins. And I find out that the other employee whose only job is to successfully cut my pizza didn't cut the pizza at all, so I really need napkins. And silverware. Just awful. It's hard to believe that anything at Newark airport can be rated more than 2 for a vegetarian - but this one Is perhaps the best of the lot on terminal C and makes the cut. Nice warm crisp pizza made from pre-rolled dough and fresh toppings (baked in about 3 minutes) that actually tastes reasonable. As you all know, almost every inch of corridor space at EWR is now a bar with fancy order-at-the-table iPad. Let me just say first that for airport pizza, this place isn't so bad. The highlight and also downfall was the crust. The outsides were nice and crispy but the middle of the pizza was soggy. The toppings pretty much slipped right off each slice but it was probably just because the pizza was still hot and the cheese hasn't set yet. Flavor overall was great though. Order on the iPad and pay at the check out area for the global bazaar. Text message was sent to my phone when my order was ready for pickup. If ordered during peak meal times, keep in mind that your order may take longer. Out of the 4 featured pies, my favorite was the spinach and artichoke pie - the combo of ricotta and mozzarella made for a very satisfying pizza. It is fast and Wow its awesome taste just makes this place perfect for airport crowd. But my gosh I hope they have this everywhere... Very quick and easy. I ordered from an iPad and had my pizza in 10 minutes (probably less, although I didn't count). It is slightly confusing that you don't pay at the iPad. You get printed receipt and scan that at another self checkout stand on the right. The pizza came out piping hot and the cheese was very stringy, although half of it would slide off when I tried to pick up a piece. Really, if this is the best dining option one can find in the entirety of the Newark Airport (and the Yelp reviews would have you believe that), then it might just make sense to purchase that business class flight simply to go upstairs to the United Club and nosh on their excellent food. Or just starve yourself during your likely 4 hour plus layover because the food options in this airport are simply pathetic. Uptop draws my ire because the cheese and toppings were woefully underserved to the extent that nearly half of my pizza was simply an awful crust and tomato sauce. Moreover, the pizza was overcooked which really wasn't the fault of the clearly overworked staff. Add in an unnecessarily convoluted payment system and you have the all the underpinnings for an unmitigated disaster. Perhaps my terrible pizza was the handiwork of a system gone awry.
