This square looks like a beautiful picture out of a book. There's plenty of space for kids to run around, nice shaded trees and picnic tables to enjoy a packed lunch or pick up a lunch from the quaint restaurants lined around the square. I was in the square years ago and they were filming a movie here. A lot of popular movies and shows have been filmed here throughout the years. I love that there are good quality places to eat, all in one area within walking distance and ice cream shops too. I also love how friendly strangers smile at each other and everyone is doing there own thing. Sometimes there's music playing throughout the square which makes it a double delight.

Town Brookhaven is a large mixed-use development that opened in Brookhaven, between Buckhead and…read moreBuford Highway, circa 2010. You can think of it as Brookhaven's version of Atlantic Station or Avalon. It's got shops, restaurants, bars, a grocery store (Publix), department store (Marshalls), movie theater (CineBistro), and homes. It's a self-contained community inside the perimeter (ITP). I've been to Town Brookhaven several times over the years to visit businesses like Bua (Thai and sushi), Newk's Eatery, Noche (tapas, now closed), the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub, and Yogurtland. I've had a friend who lived at the Windsor at Brookhaven (apartments). These days, I mainly visit Town Brookhaven to go to Costco (opened October 28, 2010). At the time of writing this review, Town Brookhaven's Costco is one of only two Costco warehouses located in Atlanta ITP. The Costco at Cumberland Mall is practically located on the perimeter. Both have gas stations and are good places to fill up due to relatively cheap prices for Top Tier fuel. In general, I think this development is fine. The property is clean. It's huge at 600,000 square feet. The design is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The buildings look modern. There are wide sidewalks, airy patios, nice landscaping, stately brick roads, and traffic circles. There's deck parking and surface level parking. This is a popular place with lots of tenants so parking may be hard to come by during peak periods. Ultimately, I've never had an issue finding parking here. Outside of perhaps Costco, I'm not sure Town Brookhaven has any shops, restaurants, or other businesses that really set it apart from other shopping centers, malls, or mixed-use developments or make it a real destination in metro Atlanta. However, if you live or work in the neighborhood or surrounding area, it's certainly nice to have all these amenities close by.

This mix use space is cute and such an amazing idea. I was surprised that there were not more patrons supporting this place! I did read that the original purpose of the space is to meet the needs of residents that reside in Southeast Atlanta. The long term goal is to become more accessible once the MARTA rapid line opens. The chicken had a slight kick but was not unbearable. Our toddler enjoyed it with lots of water and so did my husband. We ordered doro tibs chicken with tikel and rice- no spice. It was freshly prepared and it was beautifully presented. The flavors were great. I don't know much about Ethiopian cuisine but I want more! I like you can ask for no spice or try some spice. Both restaurants have us enough food to feel satisfied. We will come back in a few months to see all the other options. There is a small play area for kids. It's fenced in but feels too close to a road. There's an entrance to South Terminal right next to this area and I wouldn't feel safe with my little one being that close to an exit.

First of all it was Toco Hills (Where is THAT?), and it was basically a lot of dead space, a huge, mostly pot-hole riddled parking lot, and not-so-well-known businesses. According to Edens Property, the management company that owns both Toco Hills Shopping Center and its adjacent neighboring property Toco Hills Promenade, Toco Hills Shopping Center encompasses both Salaryman and Toco Giant Package Store, all of the stores in the row from Iron Age and north to Sushi Matsuya, and all of the stores in the row of businesses from UPS Store to Frugal Kitchens, and the two empty stores past Frugal Kitchens. This is a very confusing set up, because it isn't visually obvious that there are three different shopping centers, but looks like only one. Anyway, Toco Hills Shopping Center had fallen into sad disrepair years ago, with mostly discount businesses taking up the retail spaces, if there were even existing businesses. At that time there were many empty stores. Thankfully, there have been positive transformations in the shopping center over the past six years, resulting in it becoming a popular destination for shopping, restaurants and services. The parking lot has been redone, and all of the retail areas received a much needed makeover. In short, the entire Toco Hills Shopping Center look so much better now, so much more welcoming, and is now a lot busier. In addition, the overall quality of the businesses appears to have motivated more people to shop, dine and receive services So far, the shops that I've gone to in Toco Hills Shopping Center are Iron Age Korean Steak House, Spiller Park Coffee and Sushi Matsuya, having OK to great experiences. I will definitely return to experience more businesses here when I'm back in the area.
