If you lived in Charlotte 10 years ago you may have heard of Plaza Fiesta by Carowinds. Well Charlotte got rid of this amazing place rich in culture and delicious Hispanic cuisine. Luckily outside of Atlanta, we found another Plaza Fiesta and OMG let me tell yall, this food was incredible. We ordered way too much, we had tacos, burritos, fries, plantains, papusas, rice and beans. The customer service was so nice and the place was just filled with families. You can get everything here, there are barbershops, car rental places, boutiques and even an arcade! Can't wait to stop here again.

This is such an awesome culturally rich location. You will find authentic Mexican everything: clothing, jewelry, food, decor. It is just not your average mall. Not only that, I think you need more than one day to explore this place. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Spanish is prevalent but the speak English as well. One of my coworkers back in Hawaii is of Mexican heritage. I was able to find a candy for her that she thought was impossible to get. It made my day to put that smile on her face!!

This one is another hidden gem! From the outside it just looks like the back of a strip mall, but once inside it's like being transported to another country. There is so much to see and do, and there's even a really big play area for kids! We started out with some fresh fruit cups and just strolled around snacking on those. Stopped in a few stores and found everyone was willing to negotiate prices, so got some great deals. Ordered WAY too much food for lunch that was all really fantastic (try the ceviche tostadas from the pescaderia in the food court). Spur of the moment, a couple in our group even got piercings! Then we finished off with some delicious ice cream. It's just a really fun way to spend a day! Pro tip, brush up on your Spanish.

The Plaza Fiesta Mall is one of the few latin American malls in the Atlanta area. It may be the most visited. The food court has food from almost of Latin American countries and sports stores have Latin American team shirts. When you go inside, the decoration is like a Hollywood Mexican style, the stores being like old colonial houses with balconies. There's a whole arcade and park for the kids. Nice place for the family for a cheap price.

Good spot for the whole family ! You can find anything in there from food to, clothes , rims you name it! Very kid friendly

Outside. Corner entrance. This takes you into the arcade and food court area.

Plaza Fiesta is a bustling Latin American shopping center bounded by Buford Highway, Clairmont Road, and Dresden Drive. It's a major hub for and caters to the Hispanic community in Atlanta, particularly Central Americans. Plaza Fiesta opened in June 1999. When I first moved to Atlanta in 2000, I remember this shopping center still had several Asian businesses. Now, it's mostly Hispanic. In the early 2000s, my parents and I would do most of our Asian grocery shopping in Atlanta at Hong Kong Supermarket, which was located in this shopping center and is now known as Fiesta Farmers Market. We also went to Happy Valley Seafood for weekend dim sum (a popular place to get dim sum in Atlanta at the time). In the coming years, both Hong Kong Supermarket and Happy Valley moved OTP (outside the perimeter) to Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross. (Hong Kong Supermarket would eventually return to Buford Highway in the form of City Farmers Market in 2015.) These days, along with Fiesta Farmers Market, Plaza Fiesta's other anchor tenants include Ross Dress for Less and Planet Fitness. Probably the biggest draw to the shopping center is the indoor shopping mall / market which is filled with hundreds of vendors. I first visited this place in the early 2000s, but don't remember much. It took me well over a decade to revisit and I'm glad I did. Plaza Fiesta is sort of like a miniature town with all sorts of stuff to see and do. There are hundreds of vendors and you could easily spend an entire morning, afternoon, or entire day exploring them all. The shopping mall is set up much like a flea market. It reminds me of the Pendergrass Flea Market up I-85. It's not much to look at, but it's chock-full of densely-packed merchandise, some of which you might only be able to find here. There are rows upon rows of various retailers, most renting out small stalls to sell their wares. The mall is large and can feel maze-like. There's a little bit of everything including apparel, arts & crafts, beauty supplies, bridal wear, electronics, home decor & furnishings, money transfer services, phones, shoes, and more. There's a video arcade and a sizeable indoor playground for little kids. Outside, there's a traveling funfair with amusement rides, carnival games, and more vendors. There's even a video game shop that sells new and used games and game consoles including classic retro games. Less than a couple weeks ago, I saw this shop had four Super Nintendo Classic Editions sitting on the shelf. This is a hot item right now. I asked the employee behind the counter how much he was selling them for and he said $160 each. That was double the $79.99 MSRP. Given the flea/street market type setup, I figure prices are negotiable at several of these businesses. For me, the biggest draw to Plaza Fiesta are the restaurants. There are two food courts filled with all sorts of authentic and delicious Mexican and other Latin American eats plus more restaurants and food vendors (e.g. ice cream, fruit, and other sweet treat sellers) located throughout the market (some more hidden than others). Some food court highlights include De Mar Cevicheria (where you can get two of the best, most filling ceviches in Atlanta for only $10), Puras Tortas (some of the best Mexican sandwiches in town), Las Recetas y Antojitos de la Abuela (formerly Las Quekas de la Abuela), and La Nortena Taqueria. I recommend grabbing an ice cream or a fruit drink/slush, like a mangonada (chamango) or chamoyada, from one of the numerous stands. A lot of the food court vendors accept credit cards, but you should bring cash for the smaller food stands and other retailers. Restrooms for the entire mall can be found at each food court. The bigger of the two food courts (the one with the restaurants mentioned above) has the bigger set of restrooms. You can find them around the corner from La Nortena. The smaller food court only has two single-room unisex restrooms, so a line can build quicker there. The shopping center has plenty of parking. The parking lot on the Buford Highway side of the property is most often busy. Additional parking can be found behind the building in lots facing both Clairmont Road and Dresden Drive. The Dresden lot is the most spacious.

Highlights: Such a fun spot! Great authentic food with arcades, shops, dessert spots, numerous spots to get your fix, whatever if is! Got tacos from barbacoa Mexicana, at the end of the plaza. The girl at the spot said she didn't speak English, but understood enough to order my tacos. Great authentic tacos!!! Like Mexican street food. Loveeeddd it! This isn't your American Mexican place. If you know what your expectations are, this is 10 out of 10!!!

This place is amazing. If you want to find something unique that's hard to find, this place has it. From stereo subs to quinceañera dresses to shoes and western wear, Plaza Fiesta is the place to go. This was a failing 90s style mall until someone had the fantastic idea to bust up some of the larger storefronts and convert it into an all-Hispanic smaller store destination, and now it is crawling with people in a good way. I'm glad to see a mall thriving like this one. Seriously, you can burn hours here. Check it out!

    Kathryn S.

Interesting Latin American Mall Experience. It was fun to wander around the small shops selling wild Quinceañera dresses, cowboy boots, religious artifacts, pinatas and so much more. You might be able to negotiate prices on some items. When I asked the price of a statue, one person told me $2 and the other told me $4. The food court was disappointing.

One of a kind mall with businesses that cater to the Hispanic market. Nothing fancy but the best part is that as soon as you enter, you'll feel like you traveled south of the border. You will need to speak Spanish to haggle for deals but all in all, there are some great deals to be found here. Like a $25 facial at the center kiosk; unheard of but fairly priced. The mani-pedis are also a good deal and the haircutters are quick! Great authentic dishes to choose from but seating is limited throughout so plan accordingly. Beautiful homemade cakes and desserts at the bakeries! Entertainment is available on weekends and the mall even offers a travel agency along with a bus depot for travelers looking to travel by bus at a reasonable price. Friendly and well behaved crowds with plenty of security so rest assured you will feel safe no matter who you are.

I highly recommend making a stop here while you're cruising along Buford Highway. This place is another gem on Buford. They have all sorts of shops and stores but I'm partial to the labyrinth of food stalls located on the Claremont Road side of this mall. They have great prices for authentic dishes from many Latin American countries. I like the stalls that sell amazing fresh fruit like mango and papaya at excellent prices. I suggest you walk take some time and just walk around the whole mall to get a feel for this very unique and culturally important meeting place for the Hispanic community. Parking is free and you can enter the mall on both the Buford Highway side or on the Claremont Road side. Go explore a little bit at Plaza Fiesta!

Is Plaza Fiesta in Atlanta dangerous for 2 women to visit?

Not at all! I visited there alone. My son dropped me off and went to work. I was not harassed in any way. I did have to speak a little Spanish to facilitate some transactions but that was fine.

You can think of it as Brookhaven's version of Atlantic Station or Avalon. It's got shops, restaurants, bars, a grocery store (Publix), department store (Marshalls), movie theater (CineBistro), and homes. It's a self-contained community inside the perimeter (ITP). I've been to Town Brookhaven several times over the years to visit businesses like Bua (Thai and sushi), Newk's Eatery, Noche (tapas, now closed), the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub, and Yogurtland. I've had a friend who lived at the Windsor at Brookhaven (apartments). These days, I mainly visit Town Brookhaven to go to Costco (opened October 28, 2010). At the time of writing this review, Town Brookhaven's Costco is one of only two Costco warehouses located in Atlanta ITP. The Costco at Cumberland Mall is practically located on the perimeter. Both have gas stations and are good places to fill up due to relatively cheap prices for Top Tier fuel. In general, I think this development is fine. The property is clean. It's huge at 600,000 square feet. The design is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The buildings look modern. There are wide sidewalks, airy patios, nice landscaping, stately brick roads, and traffic circles. There's deck parking and surface level parking. This is a popular place with lots of tenants so parking may be hard to come by during peak periods. Ultimately, I've never had an issue finding parking here. Outside of perhaps Costco, I'm not sure Town Brookhaven has any shops, restaurants, or other businesses that really set it apart from other shopping centers, malls, or mixed-use developments or make it a real destination in metro Atlanta. However, if you live or work in the neighborhood or surrounding area, it's certainly nice to have all these amenities close by.

At the time of writing this review, that big space remains vacant. As someone who lives in Midtown and works in Cobb, I haven't found much reason to come to Brighten Park. I probably average about one visit a year to this shopping center. Along with The Fresh Market, I've been to the Grub Burger Bar here a couple times (it's good: https://www.yelp.com/biz/grub-burger-bar-atlanta-3) as well as Starbucks (https://www.yelp.com/biz/starbucks-atlanta-47) and Zoes Kitchen (https://www.yelp.com/biz/zoes-kitchen-atlanta-26). As you can see, this place is filled with a bunch of chains. Examples of others here include Jersey Mike's, Moe's (this location seems popular), and Panera. So, there's not really a whole lot here, food-wise, that makes this shopping center a real draw. The more unique restaurants are EATaliano and Fortune Cookie, both of which are local. There's also Saladworks, another chain, but this is their first location in Georgia. It opened in July 2018. This isn't the first time a salad restaurant has existed in this plaza. Old-school Atlantans might remember Lettuce Souprise You, with its prominent signage on Briarcliff, situated where Grub Burger Bar stands today. I do like the facelift Regency did to modernize Brighten Park. It looks a lot better now than it did five, six years ago. The storefronts look more contemporary and attractive and the landscaping is nice. Decatur Square is just one of the many reasons I love the City of Decatur! Considered to be one of…read morethe best public squares in the U.S...if it looks recognizable, you're not imagining it. Decatur Square has made its way into plenty of magazines, movies and TV shows filmed around metro Atlanta. With its charming streets, vibrant energy, historic backdrop (like the Old Dekalb County Courthouse in the background) it's an easy pick for film crews, photographers, locals and visitors alike. The Square itself is lively and cute. I love that you can sit street side at restaurants, which gives major NYC or European cafe vibes, where sidewalk dining is where it's at! You're sure to find some of the best chef-driven restaurants in metro Atlanta. Whether you're looking for an upscale dinner, a quick bite, or coffee and people-watching, Decatur Square delivers. Also, there's plenty of local shops and usually something fun and Free happening at any given time, including outdoor concerts, movie nights in the square, art festivals, and other community events, so you'll want to check the calendar ahead of time and bring your lawn chairs. https://visitdecaturga.com/ Bonus fun fact: AJC Decatur Book Festival, one of the largest independent literary festivals in the country is hosted right here. An estimated 80,000 people converge for a celebratory weekend of literature. And, last August, Decatur Square became even more meaningful with the unveiling of a bronze statue honoring civil rights icon John Lewis. Hundreds gathered in front of the Old DeKalb County Courthouse for the ceremony, adding more impact to an already iconic space. Pro Tip: If you're into public transportation, MARTA literally drops you west of the square. Prefer to walk or bike? It's got that covered too. And for drivers: parking is usually manageable at one of the many decks or street parking. If it sounds like Decatur Square is my Fav, you're absolutely right LOL! This was my neighborhood for years (yes, I'm a little partial :-), but even objectively, whether you're a local or just passing through, Decatur Square has a perfect mix of small-town feel and intown access. I'll always have a soft spot for it and I think once you visit, hopefully you will too. Happy Exploring!
