It's one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. While it's true they have hibachi and sushi as well as a strange selection of Chinese, Asian and Cuban items, there is very little that seems edible. I went with the hibachi chicken, because it seemed the "safest" thing to eat, if you know what I mean. The raw food was sitting to the side, and hopefully it was kept chilled. There were only a few sushi selections, and none of them tasted fresh. The worst was the buffet lineup. I suspect that many of the items are just left in their warming trays until they are removed by diners, at some point in time. Some of the items I tried tasted downright old. I got lucky on a few that tasted like they were cooked that day, but that doesn't mean it was tasty. Just fresher. Most I did not dare to sample. As an architect, I always check out the space. I noticed that their kitchen was absolutely tiny, place behind the hibachi station. There is just no way all this food in the buffet line could have been prepared on site, or stored on site. They could not possibly have room to refrigerate all the raw ingredients. Worse yet, how could they refrigerate any prepared food overnight? This place did not seem like they are eager to dispose of food no matter how old. It gave me a sinking feeling about the origin of many of the buffet items and the destination. I feel that they would be better off reducing the number of items in their buffet line and focus on doing a few things better. And for heaven's sake, just make sure everything is fresh! I've been to many Chinese buffets in my life, so I'd like to think of myself as somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to the Chinese buffet. With that being said, we happened to stop in this place one day while shopping in the Flagler Plaza because we were starving. I'd say upon seeing the location, tucked in the corner, dark tint covered windows with food pictures and writing all about and men in front peddling their CD's and movies, you would be somewhat weary of going in like we were. Once inside, you will be surprised at how much bigger and brighter it is than it looks. The decor is a little outdated, but somewhat standard to what you would find in a Chinese buffet. The buffet looks like their is a decent selection and it seems pretty clean. But as we know, looks may be deceiving... Upon walking up to the buffet, you will find that there really isn't that much to choose from. I tried some of the Bourbon Chicken which didn't taste anything like what I'm use to eating, it tasted more Curry like. I walked around the whole area and ended up sticking to the honey chicken. It wasn't that bad, but it was more like honey breaded bits of chicken. I picked out some chicken nuggets for my 2 year old, which he did not eat. What kid does not like chicken nuggets?. Although they seemed to be overcooked and a little hard. For dessert, we had the ice cream. The cooler it was in was quite messy and sticky, with only one plexiglass cover to close it because the other half was missing. You get what you pay for. $9.99 per person (Lunch Time) gets you a decent selection of sushi, a mild salad bar, Chicken drenched in sauces that are either too sweet or too salty, stale Fried Rice, and desserts that look like they've been "preserved" for longer than necessary. Nothing here looks Fresh. Personal Favorites from the Buffet include the Sea Angel Roll, the Volcano Roll, The Fried Fish & Shrimp, the Honey Chicken... And that's about it. So I decided to try it out for the first time on Chinese New Years and in retrospect that was a stupid idea. On the other hand my wife said it must be good because its always full of people and it wouldn't be that way if it was bad. Garbage. Slop you wouldn't feed to pigs. A quick look at the unsanitary kitchen, dirty hibachi grill, or the salmonella theme park where they display the "food" is enough to make you sick. The only people that come here are gluttons that want to fill their pie holes on the cheap with no regard for quality or even remote authenticity. This place is an insult to Chinese food. This is my story I came from the beach with some friends and decided to go to this Chinese buffet, everything looks good at first, they greet you really nice they put you in at table ok, until now all fine, but here is the thing we were very hungry because we played volleyball, soccer and many other things at the beach, we were starving , so we go to get the food on the displays we took as much as two plates per person nothing too exaggerated, we sit and we notice almost every coworker in there looking at us time to time, we said ok whatever , but in time we finish and go for another round its a buffet you can go and get what you want, then we started noticing a constantly strange look like a mad face or something from 1 or 2 of their personal, at this point one of my friends couldnt eat like that, nobody likes eating and being 100% supervised and with a mad face, so she was like that for 5 minutes then came back again and started the process again. Tried this buffet because my family and I were craving some Chinese food and I enjoyed it! I don't really understand why this place has such low stars because there are hundreds of Chinese buffets that are quite worse compared to Uptown Buffet. My reasoning is...how can you expect so much from a low-cost Chinese buffet? Anyways, the place is very family-friendly, has friendly hosts, and an array of foods to choose from. They have their own sushi bar and a hibachi one as well. Obviously the sushi is not 5 star quality but I'd actually trust their sushi as compared to another buffet, plus it tasted great!The food is delicious here. I tasted their chicken/broccoli, lo-Mein, sesame chicken, cheese wontons, and shrimp in sauce. All these foods were wonderful and my family members liked their food as well. If you want a Chinese buffet that meet your price range, has tasty food, and a sushi/hibachi bar all included, then this is the place to go! 5 stars for price alone. Servers refill your drinks timely and are nice enough but a little cold. Food isn't the best you're going to find but for less than 10$ you get grilled to order and common sushi items as well as some local favorites like tostones and chicharones. I have a love-hate relationship with Chinese buffets, but this place is ok. It doesn't look that clean, and the food doesn't look that appetizing. The tables and chairs look outdated, not the regular look of other places I have been, The main buffet area is a little dark, you can't see the food very well.
