This is my favorite place to shop! There are always great finds and frequent sales going on. The store was recently expanded to have more space and to create an entrance into Kid to Kid next door. They sell tons of items, from jeans to jackets to dresses to workout clothes to designer purses to shoes. Some of the items are "new" and sold by Uptown Cheapskate's brand. Generally the prices range from $5-$20. There is a small men's section in the back, but the store is generally geared towards teenagers/young women. You can also bring in clothes to sell, but they're very selective with what they will buy (like with other consignment stores). One thing I really appreciate is that they have about 7 dressing rooms, whereas many thrift/consignment stores only have 2-4. So there typically isn't a waiting line, or a short one if there is. I've only had positive experiences with the staff, who are all pretty young, although it does seem like there's a lot of turnover. I would say about half of the staff were wearing masks. I would recommend signing up for text alerts, as you will get notified of sales - their best one is their 70% off stamped items sales. Sale days are always pretty crowded, but otherwise the store isn't usually too busy. Note that each Uptown Cheapskate is separate, so your rewards don't transfer between stores. Definitely worth a visit if you're into trendy or quality finds at discounted prices! read more

My mom told me about this spot and I couldn't pass up on going there to check it out. I don't live in the area so I made a trip out of the experience. Once arrived I did notice how clean the place was. I am not one to be shady or bashing other consignment/thrift stores but everything was organized. There was no item of clothing on the ground and the floor was spotless. The level of organization is top tier, they have labels on the wall from small all the way to extra large. It made sorting for your items much easier. One interesting thing is most of the clothes are color coordinated. This location does have a lot of name brand items to choose from. On the door they advertise which color was 50 percent off (for Saturday the day I went it was blue) green 25 percent off and red had a percentage on it as well. My bad experiences have been when the manager ( Gregory ) has been on the floor. If he doesn't want to work, tell him to find another job that makes him happy because I've quite had it with his bad attitude. Last few times I shopped there, I didn't see him and had a pretty pleasant experience. I want to like this place because I really love the concept and love the items! The light skin girl with glasses who attended us was very rude, unprofessional she had her shoes off in the store, I came in nicely asked if they took clothes to buy she said yes soon as she seen my bags her whole attitude changed she looked mad? And on the way back to pick up my clothes she didn't even hand me the money in my hand she rudely put it on the counter and she slammed the bags on the counter. I went in today and took 4 sweaters and a brand new pair of Ugg boots/sneakers and they only gave me $16. What? Not to mention the staff are probably the most unfriendly staff around. Great store! Uptown Cheapskate feels more like upscale thrifting. While more expensive than Goodwill and other thrift stores, they vet their donations for good quality and trendy items, as well as give cash or store credit to donators, hence the higher price. Higher price is worth it when I can more easily find cute and good quality items than other thrift stores. I've never come out of here without some new purchases! read more

So I bought a couple things here and they didn't end up working out when I got home so I came to return them the next day, which was a Sunday. They Told me they don't do returns, but I could bring the items in during the week to sell back. I bring the items in that following Tuesday to sell and they don't take anything because they say they are things they don't really sell EVEN THOUGH THEY SOLD IT TO ME 3 DAYS AGO! Like how can you do something like that? The staff is still kind, but they really are not great when it comes to buying clothes. It's just hurtful knowing that I was told I could sell them back and then getting denied and saying they don't really sell those specific items in their store when they sold it to me 3 days ago. All and All, I probably won't be coming back here, there's another Uptown Cheapskate 20 minutes away and I think they handle these situations wayyy better. read more

****HORRIBLE ATTITUDE & Customer Service **** The staff NEVER welcomes or greets you when you enter the store. They don't even bother to make an effort to look at you or make eye contact when you ask them a question. You can forget about asking them for help! These people are unappreciative of the customers. The African American guy in particular always has an unwelcoming & unapproachable energy. I cringe every time I realize that he is the one at the register, because I just don't want to deal with him. He doesn't say hello, thank you shopping there or good-bye...have a nice day...or ANYTHING which is so awkward and uncomfortable. Also, they made it very clear that you can only bring 6 items into the fitting at a time. That's not hard to understand or do. Literally, they will still interrogate you to see if you're doing that. When I shop here I usually have a basket and I sit it outside the door to show that I am following the policy. When I am done the girl had the audacity to ask if I counted the items before I tried on everything... First of all, I said "NO" because they never told me to count the items in the basket beforehand.They just said 6 at a time. I kept the ones that I wanted by hanging them on the outside hook of the door and placed the ones I didn't want on the return counter....like what more do you want??? I don't even carry a bag to shop so where would I stuff clothes into if they really thought I was going to steal something? It's really STUPID because what they can improve on is customer service rather than be rude and play security guard especially on someone who doesn't even carry a purse. Like COME ON! Do better, they got their PRIORITIES MESSED UP! I only go here for the clothes. I agree with all the other bad reviews because I honestly thought it was only happening to ME (apparently NOT). Cooperate needs to consider sending "secret shoppers" to this location. They need it because it'll only hurt the business if they keep this horrible staff. read more

The staff was super rude and inconsiderate about their request for me to wear a mask. I cannot wear one for multiple health reasons, but I offered to stay a good 8ft away from other customers and staff (the place was completely empty so that wasn't an issue) so I could still shop for clothes for my husband. I had already been in the store for almost 30 minutes, minding my own business when someone hunted me down and got in my face about not wearing a mask. A mask that I cannot wear, again, because SOME PEOPLE HAVE MEDICAL ISSUES AND CAN'T. Which I explained multiple times. I took my business elsewhere and won't be returning. read more

The only reason I go back is because my daughter actually loves shopping here. But the customer service is completely unacceptable. They do not care how they talk to you. They don't care what they say to you. I called on a Friday to make sure they were open during Covid and excepting items to sell. When I got there the next day I was told they were no longer buying because it was too close to the end of business. "The sign is on the door", I was told. How am I supposed to know the information is on the door prior to getting there??? Also there are 20 advertisements all over the door. This business is not run very well! read more
